You live in Ohio just stand your ground and shoot them... I have no clue if you can do that I just said it because I am ignorant about ohio gun laws.
This contrived debate over the "Stand Your Ground" laws is irrelevant. If you believe that you are in imminent danger of death or serious physical injury you have the right to use deadly physical force to stop your assailant even if they are unarmed.
Now, every situation is different. If I am assaulted by a 6'5", 225 lb. male in his mid twenties who is unarmed I most likely would be exonerated for using my handgun to defend myself. I'm 63 1/2, 6', 190 lbs. and past my prime for street fighting. I would have a legitimate fear of being on the receiving end of serious physical injury or death. In any case, I would rather be tried by a jury of 12 of my peers than carried out by 6!
On the other hand, if I am assaulted by a 70 year old, 100 lb. woman waving an umbrella and I shoot her I can expect to end my days in Attica or another similarly unpleasant environment.
Don't let them make you afraid to defend yourself.
The police can't do it. As a former police officer I can tell you that in most cases we arrive on the scene in time to make out a report on you when you are murdered. We usually get the perp later, but that is of no use to you and your family if you're dead!
Get a carry permit, get training, do NOT
be a victim!
P.S. This hand to hand combat training is bullshit! If you train in mixed martial arts combat two or three times a week on a consistent basis like my son then it will be of use to you. However, going to a few courses is a waste of your time. The movements have to become a reflex action. That only comes with constant repetition over a long period of time. And, if you get targeted by a bunch of skells out "wilding" you would rather have a gun!
