Re: Republicans

The separation of church and state has gone way too far. The concept was meant to not have religion become way too wrapped up in how things are done or make sure that a certain religion didn't run the country, much like the Church of England, Catholic involvement in western Europe during the Middle Ages, etc. It didn't mean no mention of God at all. That's why you see Christians rising up and becoming more defiant these days, because they're the ones now being discriminated against. Personally, I don't want a theocracy, but I have the right to express what I believe and be able to pray and mention God.

The concept of Republican and Democrat are really one in the same now. There are no true conservatives in the Republican party, just wanna-bes who will say whatever gets them elected. I will admit that at one time I was a registered Republican, but the party has lost me due to their failure to hold on to conservative/libertarian values and not being consistent.

Good contribution. When you have no actual point to make, resort to attacking one's typing/grammar.

Where and how often is your right to practice your religion infringed upon? Serious question.

I love when people try using that to justify calling America a Christian nation, since those things were only added in or around the 1950's.

OT: I'm an ocean away from America, literally, but I've been trying to keep up with politics this election cycle and from what I've seen... Republicans by and large seem much more dickish than Democrats. Not saying it's all them and the Democrats are perfect, that's not the case. But it seems to be Republicans in government who keep doing, saying, proposing and passing stupid shit all the time, Republican voters who spout the most nonsense, misinformation or blatant bullshit lies, and Republican TV networks (looking at you Fox) that are the most dubious and inflammatory.

To be fair its been since 1909 on coins and 1956 for paper money. Regardless, revisionist history is putting Christianity's association on our currency and with our country. I guarantee though that a Christian God would hate the idea of being associated with government.

As far as the laughter about the free mason crack though. Look at a dollar bill. The all seeing eye was put on our money by a free mason. That's all I have to or am going to say on that point though other than the free masons being a powerful group that has influenced the US, is not a conspiracy theory.

As far as Republicans go. How they have convinced half the country they are Christians and in service to God is beyond me? They are truly an embarrassment to a great country and the world. Now does this make Democrats the perfect party. Hell no! But the Republican/GOP party need to get the fuck off this planet. They scarily entered into the association of fascist with Bush/Cheney.

I would be all for a system though that does not embrace only two parties. The problem arrives in Congress though with anything but a two party system. Nothing would ever get done.
