Really? Can you use a little common sense? It's the deadliest terrorist attack of all time by a SIGNIFICANT margin and it's also by far the one that required the most planning to pull off. It's basically still unprecedented in terms of terrorist attacks. Of course it's going to get the most coverage.
There as also the mass shootings, and it was extremely big in Norway. Norway is an extremely peaceful country for the most part (statistically the most livable country in the world each year), and something like this was completely out of nowhere. It was as big of a shock as they could get there, but I'd imagine the US media won't pay that much attention to it because it couldn't pull out the patriotism crap.

Re: DID YOU FORGET?

It wouldn't have mattered if 3,000 or 30 people died, tbh. It happened in America and was done by people that Americans already stereotypically classified as terrorists. Perfect media opportunity to milk out of it all they possibly can. Just wait until 15 years from now when the media outlets have the audacity to call it the "silver anniversary."

There's a reason why the Oklahoma City bombing and the Fort Hood shooting aren't as recognized as 9/11 and it isn't for either of the reasons you listed. It's because they weren't nearly as significant.

Hulk, it was on all the news channels for weeks here, I'm not sure how much more it could have been covered.

Re: DID YOU FORGET?

It wasn't done by the same people that America likes to label, and it wasn't done in the two cities (save that field in Pennsylvania) that America honestly considers to be the two greatest cities in the world. Those two things have strong hands in making it more significant. 10,000 people could've died in the Oklahoma City bombings and 9/11 would still matter more. Nobody cares if some white guy bombed Oklahoma City, lol.

Get a Middle-Eastern terrorist to do the dirty work and suddenly everyone in a turban (and their mother and children) is guilty.

Re: DID YOU FORGET?

Or it could be that it's because 3,000 people died in 9/11 and it started a war. That's of course the other thing that hasn't been brought up: 9/11 was an act of war. None of these other terrorist attacks were. It's way more comparable to Pearl Harbor than anything.

BTW- The guy from the Fort Hood shootings was a Muslim who had been in contect with an Al-Qaeda member for months leading up to it

Re: DID YOU FORGET?

Yeah, the part about starting a war, that's a pretty good point.

I don't think anyone remembers Fort Hood though.

Re: DID YOU FORGET?

9/11 started two wars, one with a country that had nothing to do with it.

Nah, it's the War on "Terrorism" no matter if it's in Afghanistan or Libya.

Re: DID YOU FORGET?

declaring war on an idea instead of a country is a great way to lose said war
