I'm not the hero you all think I am.
This is going to shatter some worlds, but I am not the hero you want me to be.
I have a story to tell, it's one of pain and sorrow, of good and evil, of doing the right thing, and most importantly, failing.
So lets right at the beginning. I had a friend Danny, key word had, we used to hang out all the time playing hockey and whatever, we were best friends from about grade 2 until just 3 months ago. Well I guess I should tell you he came out to me in grade 9 telling me he was gay. I didn't think anything of it, I mean while we were chugging beers he was drinking coolers, but that was about the only difference.
Lets skip ahead to 4 months ago, i found out he was online talking to some people, I warned him not to take what they said serious as they were trolls and nothing more. he agreed, but these troll pestered him until he almost snapped, I luckily talked him out of it, he wanted to kill himself due to the bullying online. I explained to him that he didn't know them so he shouldn't let them affect him. But they kept coming
Enter the man we'll call "Uncle Hank". Now Ol' Hank here joined a dating site (name withheld) as a gay man. He made friends with Danny, befriending him to the point Danny felt comfortable around him, and one day agreed to finally meet this 46 year old supposedly gay man. But things were not as they seemed for Danny boy on this day.
I begged him to allow me to come along for the date, saying it was somebody he met online, the first time he should bring somebody with him just to be safe. I could have been the hero on that day, i could have saved Danny's life. Hank turned out to be a murderer, he murdered my best friend. He raped him and held him captive for 3 days before slicing his throat.
I lost my best friend that day. April 6th, 2010, he was raped and killed by a gay man, a gay man who consoled him when internet bullies were picking on him. Now you see why I hate gays, I explained in a past thread why I hate lesbians, and now you know why I am so against internet bullying. My friend was murdered at the hands of an online bully.
Let this be a lesson, they come in all shapes and sizes, and many forms, but they are all evil. I could have been a hero, but I ended up a victim like my friend that day, now I travel the forums of the internet bringing to light the pain internet bullying causes.
