Arrogant Athletes

OK, not world shaping stuff, but I'm sick and tired of prima dona pro wrestlers, and I have some frame of reference for this. Yesterday, I was at the Arnold Classic. Met every bodybuilding legend imaginable. Met two NFL stars. Met Little Hercules, Joe Frazier, and shook hands with the man himself, Gov. Schwarzenneger. Then it happened. I met HHH. $20 and an hour i line for the autograph. Don't know if he was "in character', but the dude was concise and rude, not even making eye contact. I told him I hope he wins the strap at 'Mania, he doesn't acknowledge in the slightest, looks for the next person. Batista-not migling with the people.
A few years ago, the WWE guys would come into the steakhouse I worked at when in town. Saturn-dick. Benoit-horrible tipper,no autographs for kids. Austin-paranoid, stared down every man who even looked at Debra. When I was 10, I saw Andre The Giant at a hotel bar in Lexington. Autographs? Hell no. I've gotten Rob Dibble's autograph at eight in the morning at his house, ran out of ink, he gladly finished the autograph with his pen, smile on face. Muhammed Ali-gentleman. Oliver North-class act. Why do wrestlers think they're the shit? I'm sure you guys have been dissed by them too, right? Just wanted to get that off my chest, those dickbags...

Re: Arrogant Athletes

I've met most of the WWE stars you have mentioned, and they've all seemed rather nice to me.

Well, some are just assholes in general, but you got to understand, a lot of them are tired and are just looking to relax. I'm sure you've felt the same way too when you had to do something that you really didn't want to do and you're exausted at the same time.

Re: Arrogant Athletes

I've actually never met a wrestler or been to a wrestling event (WM 22 will be my first! I'm very excited!). But from what I hear, they're usually nice. Maybe you caught them all at wrong times?

Don't rewrite the books, just rewrite the titles

Entertaining the fans is part of their job though. Regardless of how tired they are, they should put on a brave face. Remember a lot of these people are on six-figure salaries. I could certainly raise a smile for people if I knew I was getting paid that much.

Re: Arrogant Athletes

I've met Triple H (backstage two RAW house shows back and at the recent one) and he was a pretty nice guy. Met Ali a couple times (he's from Louisville, KY, so it's not hard when he comes back.) Met Batista a bunch of times (he was Leviathan in OVW before WWE.) Met Benoit and Austin both, also very cool guys. Never met Saturn, though. Never got the chance to meet Andre...obviously, lol.

Re: Arrogant Athletes

I think you were just unlucky. When I met the Mean Street Posse they were the nicest guys I've ever met in my life. I shared thier damn pizza with me, they were really that nice. Plus when I met Christian he was friendly and willing to chat to me for 15-20 minutes.

Indeed so, but I believe that most just get sick of being approached all the time during their off days and just want to be left alone.
