Lol, I never find people hating on Rap an old thing. It's almost a daily occurence.
For some reason people find taking the bad rappers and creating an entire generalization on the genre. Is it messed up? Oh yeah it is. People do indeed have their different tastes in music, but why hate on something you can't relate too?
Most people who hate on Rap, ALWAYS use 50 Cent as an example. Instead of being sheep of the mainstream, think out of the box.
50 Cent is nowhere near the greatest rapper now. Sure he sells 11 Million Records and people think he's the 'poster-boy' of Rap, but again that's a moronic assumption. Before people judge a type of music, it'd be wise to gain more knowledge on it.
Nas, Em, D-Block, D Rich, Juelz Santana Young Buck.. So many people amongst the elders [Pac, Rakim, Cube, etc.] personify what rap is.. Which is Street Language.
They can't speak as politicians for whatever reason, so they act as mouth-pieces for the streets, and some people can't handle what the streets are all about. Those people who hate on rap, just because they heard "Candy Shop" by 50 Cent I can guarauntee never heard "If Heaven Was a Mile Away" by Nas or "Keep Ya Head Up" by 'Pac.
Instead of hating, take the time to listen to REAL artists, who really personify what Rap is, instead of basing your opinion off of what MTV puts across.
