30 Man Royal Rumble
The most exciting match of the WWE calander year returns. 30 hopefuls enter the ring in 2 minute intervals until only one man remains. Only one past winner returns to try to do it again this year though and 29 others look to punch their card to a guaranteed title match at Wrestlemania 28.
Skip Sheffield, Carlito, Chris Masters, Darren Young, Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, Duke Shyster,
Jimmy Jacobs, Lucky Cannon , John Morrison, Michael Tarver, Ryan Vegas, R-Truth,Triple H,
Zack Ryder,Amazing Red Machine, Booker T, Brodus Clay, Cody Rhodes, Daniel Bryan,
David Otunga, Zeke, Titus O'Neal, Jessie Godderz, Justin Gabriel, Kane, Seth Rollins, Tyson Kidd,
Wade Barrett, Xavier Woods.
Jack Swagger vs. Evan Bourne
Some men just are great, and sometimes they just fall into a little slump. Its no secret that since Jack Swagger lost his World title at Fatal 4 Way in 2010 he's just never been the same. After re debuting on Smackdown on January 6th and attacking Sin Cara he went on to proclaim 2012 to be the year of Swagger. Evan Bourne (singed once his RAW contract came up at the end of 2011) has been making sure that doesn't happen, costing him his last 4 matches.
Long Island Shore Boys (Hawkins and Baretta) (c) vs. The Tag Team of the Future
Not much in known about the self proclaimed Tag Team of the Future as they have yet to debut, but they've been a real pain the the Shore Boys asses over the last 2 weeks. All we know about the TTOTF is that in their latest video they declared "This Sunday: Breakdancing vs. Fist Pumping"
Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase
Forget about main eventing Wrestlemania 28, forget about being ion the Royal Rumble, Orton doesn't want to hear about it, in his mind if it wasn't for Ted DiBiase and his Million $ Corporation, he'd already be main eventing Mania. Be it as it may, on January 6th Orton made his return to Smackdown taking out all 3 members of the Corp and costing DiBiase a chance to be one of 30 men in the Rumble match. This isn't about titles, or would be titles, this is about pay back, it's about redemption and for Randy it's about showing that money can't buy you a way out of an ass kicking courtesy of the Viper.
Samoa Joe vs. CM Punk- I Quit
Perhaps the most personal and bloody feud WWE has seen since Triple H and HBK battled it out back in 2004 these 2 enter the squared circle for round 3 of what has been to this point a very hard hitting feud. Backstage sneak attacks, weapon shots, blood, sweat, tears and everything in between has been spilled in the ring since Joe joined the WWE in November. Punk wants revenge, but many feel he can't do it alone. Already losing to him at Survivor Series in a War Games match and then again at TLC in a Submission match Punk wants one more try to prove to Samoa Joe and the rest of the locker room he does have what it takes to take on the Submission Machine.
William Regal (c) vs. Christian for the World Title
Christian never lost the title, Regal capitalized on his friend being taken out to capture his first ever World title in September. Christian never got his one on one rematch until this point and it never came easy. Over the last few months whenever something started to look up for Christian somebody always came back around and brought him back down. Only one man stood behind him, helping him battle the likes of Ted DiBiase, Tyson Kidd, Brodus Clay and Cody Rhodes along the way, William Regal. From their days as UnAmericans back in 2002 and the fact that on a roster of up and coming stars these 2 stood out as veterans many presumed that the young guys were looking to take them out. That was until December 30th, the last Smackdown of 2011 when it was revealed that everything that has happened to Christian wasn't just because a few young guys wanted his spot, it was because William Regal (who was revealed to have come into a lot of money) had paid them off to make sure he would become the World champion in return he promised Ted and Co money and other prizes to keep Christian away from the title.
A very bitter feud when one man who many thought had seen the errors of his way was up to his old tricks again and this time he has a World title to show for it, but will he still have it after the Royal Rumble?
Kofi Kingston (c) vs. The Miz vs. Sheamus for the WWE title
[i]Miz held the title for over a year (minus the one day John Cena held it) he defeated the likes of Randy Orton, Cena, Punk, Morrison, The Rock, HHH, Chris Masters and Evan Bourne over that span.
Sheamus is a former 2 time WWE champ, he returned to RAW at TLC and won a battle royal to get here.
Kofi Kingston cashed in on a dream and became the WWE champion at TLC, ending that reign of The Miz in dramatic fashion. One month later he defends the title for the first time against 2 of RAW's biggest stars in hopes of moving just 2 months away from being the champion heading into Wrestlemania. 3 men enter, only one can walk out as the WWE champion.[i]
The Rock/John Cena confrontation
It's been almost a year now since The Challenge was made for Wrestlemania 28 and for the first time in a long time these 2 men will enter the same ring as guests on the Mystery GM's personal show. the GM promises to reveal the type of match these 2 will fight in at Wrestlemania and much more!
Heath Slater will make a "Deadly" Challenge
For weeks now the "One Man Rock Band" has been showing up at random cemeteries and funeral homes in hopes of finding and challenging The Undertaker to a match at Wrestlemania 28. So far he has had no luck, will Royal Rumble be the time where The Undertaker finally returns to a WWE ring?
Leave predictions if you want, I'll be updating the thread as soon as Rumble comes and passes with all the fall out.
