True Blood was hard for me to get into. i actually think season 1 is the weakest of the three. it definitely isn't the most well-executed or best-written show, and sometimes it does fall into the "lol that's gay" trap that plenty of vampire stories fall into, but Sookie Stackhouse is a much stronger protagonist, a good independent woman who's not in NEED of a vampire like in every other story, she just happens to really like one. you hardly ever
for her out of stupidity. plus, there are badass vampires everywhere. and a lot of good old-natured violence and blood, and theres this cool government-like system within the vampires with leaders of territories, and mayors, and they sort of have their own democracy, and that's very creative.
plus i sorta have the hots for Alexander Skarsgaard. favorite vampire since Spike.
i would say overall it might be a top ten show that i watch now, probably around the bottom 10.
