Re: WWE: The Evolution Of Greed

~Monday Night Raw~
January 29th, 2007
Dallas, Texas

Just 24 hours after the historic 2007 Royal Rumble, Dallas, Texas gets set for a Texas-sized edition of Monday Night Raw!

After becoming the first man to enter the Rumble at Number 30 and emerge victorious, Edge will no doubt be arrogant as ever in celebration of his victory. But as one half of the World Tag Team Champions with Randy Orton, what will become of the Rated-RKO duo and their titles now that Edge has his sights firmly placed on Wrestlemania and choosing which World Champion he will face on the grandest stage of them all?

Another pair in turmoil after recent events have been the former D-Generation X members Shawn Michaels and Triple H. Since accidently striking 'The Game' with a chair two weeks ago, ending their partnership in the process, relations have been cold between the two. Things appeared to get worse last Monday night when Michaels eliminated Triple H from a battle royal, only for 'The Game' to eliminated Michaels from the Royal Rumble. However, after coming so close to victory only to be eliminated near the end by Edge, Triple H will no doubt be looking to take his frustrations out on 'The Rated-R Superstar'. Will Michaels and Triple H finally clear the air? Or will 'The Game' be too set on getting his hands on Edge to be concerned with Michaels?

Although the Royal Rumble was just last night, the big events keep on coming, with next weeks Raw scheduled to be a three hour special entitled Raw: Night Of Champions. With every title on the line next week, challengers for all champions will be announced tonight. After his victory over Rob Van Dam last night, WWE Champion John Cena will no doubt be wondering who is next in line for a shot at his gold. The answer could lie with the returning Shane McMahon, who promised to confront Cena live on Raw tonight on behalf of his father. Will Cena discover his opponent for next week's Raw? Or could Shane have a more sinister message in mind for 'The Champ'?

During the Royal Rumble last night, both Bobby Lashley and Umaga entered impressive performances, with both men scoring several eliminations. Lashley was one of the seven men it took to finally remove 'The Samoan Bulldozer' from the match, only to be eliminated himself seconds later by Edge. On the outside, the two brawled, with Umaga snapping a deadly Samoan Spike to the throat of the ECW Champion. Furious, Lashley has laid down the challenge to the 'undefeated' Umaga, and as such the two will meet tonight. Can Lashley be the one to finally break Umaga's 'undefeated streak'? Or will Umaga enter yet another powerful display to chalk up yet another win?

One of the most controversial and shocking moments from last night was the victory of Kenny Dykstra over Jeff Hardy for the Intercontinental Championship. With Dykstra joining his Rated-RKO colleagues Edge and Randy Orton in now holding gold, the cocky youngster will no doubt care little for the status of Hardy, who was removed from the arena on a stretcher. The last reports suggested that Hardy was finally discharged from a San Antonio medical facility, but there is little chance that Hardy will be in attendance tonight. Another shocking moment was the assault handed to Ric Flair after his elimination of Mr. Kennedy. Smackdown's Kennedy returned to the ring to eliminate Flair, then delivered a brutal beatdown of the legend, busting the 16-time World Champion in the process. But with his new association with Carlito looking to gain steam, and currently embroiled with Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas, will Flair simply have to forget about any retaliation for now?

Also tonight, CM Punk will look to continue his impressive start to his Monday Night Raw career, and the challenger next week for Mickie James' Women's Championship will be decided, as Melina, Maria, Candice Michelle and Victoria, the Diva who Mickie beat two weeks ago to retain the title, meet in a fatal four way. Will Victoria secure herself another championship opportunity? Or will a new challenger emerge to threaten Mickie's crown?

Confirmed Matches:

Bobby Lashley vs. Umaga
Candice Michelle vs. Maria vs. Melina vs. Victoria
CM Punk will be in action!
