Re: Being The Booker
Sorry for the delay in moving forward. To be honest, I still havent got myself in gear again. I'm going to post Superstars now, but it could be 2-3 weeks before I bother to get Smackdown finished. Sorry for the stop/start nature of the thread recently, but hopefully I'll hit a stride soon...
WWE Superstars | May 15 2007
Joey Styles and The King introduce the show, hyping the KICK OFF to the 2007 King of the Ring tournament on the show tonight … RIGHT NOW!!
Accompanied by Katie Lea, the undefeated Paul Burchill gets ready to make his mark in singles competition, kicking off the King of the Ring tournament. On his way to the ring, Styles and King wonder whether or not anyone has informed him of last nights 'Reality Check' which exposed a Harry Smith/Katie Lea relationship.
**SOMEBODIES GONNA GET IT**
With a chance to shine, ‘The Worlds Strongest Man’ walks to the ring with a purpose, joined by Theodore Long, as he attempts to prove that The Brotherhood isn’t just about Shelton Benjamin
Match 1 | KING OF THE RING TOURNAMENT | ROUND OF 32:
Mark Henry w/Theodore Long vs. Paul Burchill w/Katie Lea
Short match, with Burchill and Henry continuing on from a few recent meetings, as the two bulls collide. During the contest, Katie Lea attacks Theodore Long, as the mouthpiece of The Brotherhood tries to get involved, with the fans cheering for her timely intervention. Burchill is distracted by the ongoings outside the ring … allowing the Worlds Strongest Man to attack. Henry then goes for the Worlds Strongest Slam, but Burchill fights free, eventually catching an oncoming Henry with a power slam, and follows up, finishing the big man off … WITH THE CURB STOMP!!! He hooks the leg, 1...2...3!!!
Winner: Paul Burchill @ 04:24
Burchill remains undefeated since his debut in February, and moves on to the sweet sixteen of the 2007 King of the Ring tournament, to meet the winner of the Cody Rhodes/Umaga clash, later tonight.
We return with a promo for THIS FRIDAY ON SMACKDOWN; just two days away from Judgment Day, it’s clash of the contenders; BROCK LESNAR VERSUS EDGE!!
Back at ringside, during the entrances for the next match, Styles and King plug the main event tonight, coming from Smackdown, with the United States Champion, Brent Albright in action, just five days before defending the title against Paul London at Judgment Day, facing Jeff Hardy tonight in a tune up.
Match 2 | CRUISERWEIGHT SHOWCASE:
Kid Kash vs. Jamie Noble
Both men get to do their thing, and put on a strong showing, as you’d expect, if you’ve ever read any of their meetings in Legends thread . With Noble off the back of a recent face turn, he gains the support of the fans, and plays his role well. As the match nears the final stretch, there are a number of near falls from cradles and roll ups, until Kash tries to use the tights, then the ropes, which raises the ire of his opponent, who shoves Kash as they get up, pulling his tights to signify what his problem is. Kash holds his arms up, backing away … THEN GOES FOR A CHEAP SHOT … but Noble ducks under … AND SURPRISES KASH WITH A BACKSLIDE … 1...2...3!!!!!
Winner: Jamie Noble @ 07:13
Noble celebrates his win, having his arm raised, getting himself back in the mix in the cruiserweight division. Styles and King put both men over for a great effort, but focus on Noble getting the three count, and showing his credentials for a push toward the title in the coming weeks.

!! LIVE ON SATURDAY NIGHTS MAIN EVENT ON NBC !!
JUNE 23 | THE PYRAMID, MEMPHIS TN
During the entrances now for the next match, the commentary team talk up the meeting this will set up for the winner with Paul Burchill in the next round, and also discuss last night on Raw, when Umaga and Estrada confronted the World Heavyweight Champion, Christian.
Match 3 | KING OF THE RING TOURNAMENT | ROUND OF 32:
Umaga w/Armando Estrada vs. Cody Rhodes w/Goldust
Despite the weeks of ‘training’, Cody Rhodes ambition of becoming the 2007 King of the Ring ends in pretty sudden fashion, as his early offence has little to no effect on the Samoan Bulldozer. Umaga squats away Cody early on, then no sells a dropkick attempt, squatting that away too … BEFORE CHARGING THROUGH HIM LIKE A STEAM TRAIN!!!!! From there, Cody is never in the contest, falling victim to a running butt splash, an avalanche in the corner, then the spinning power slam for good measure. On the outside, Goldust winces at each manoeuvre, watching as his
brother protégé takes an absolute beating. It could be finished already … but Umaga decides to put an exclamation point on proceedings … AND DELIVERS THE SAMOAN SPIKE!!! The Samoan Bulldozer presses over the body of the broken second generation superstar, as the count is made, 1...2...3!!!
Winner: Umaga @ 02:10
It’s an emphatic win for Umaga, and it now sets up a contest in the last sixteen with another undefeated superstar; Paul Burchill. Mister Money in the Bank has his hand raised by his gleeful handler, who looks down at the broken body of Cody Rhodes, which is eventually dragged from the ring by Goldust. The Bizarre One carries young Cody from the ring, as we focus on Umaga, who has made a daunting start to his King of the Ring campaign.
NEXT WEEK ON MONDAY NIGHT RAW; AN OFFICIAL CONTRACT SIGNING FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH AT VENGEANCE BETWEEN THE CHAMPION, CHRISTIAN, AND THE CHALLENGER, MISTER KENNEDY.
** VIDEO PACKAGE **
The WWE production theme, “Lost Souls” plays over the package.
Opens with the following writing;
"Every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of' Judgement" Matthew 12:36.
Flashing shot of Randy Orton punting RVD at WrestleMania.
"He that rejecteth me and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him. The word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day" John 12:48.
Flashing shot of Randy Orton punting Jericho on 13/4 Smackdown.
Writing appears again;
"For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to what he hath done whether it be good or bad" II Corinthians 5:10.
Flashing shots of Ric Flair leaving the ring, head bowed, for the final time, RVD being wheeled out of the arena at WrestleMania, and Chris Jericho being placed into an ambulance on the 13/4 edition of Smackdown.
The package then focuses on the face of the callous Randy Orton, the music stops, and it’s simply heavy, slow motion breathing.
Narrator: His Judgment Day … has come.
WWE JUDGMENT DAY | MAY 20 | AMERICAN AIRLINES ARENA, MIAMI FL
ONLY ON PAY PER VIEW
Backstage, Matt Striker, the backstage correspondent for WWE Superstars, stands by with Brent Albright, the United States Champion, ahead of the main event this evening. Albright addresses the ‘sit down’ interview with Paul London last week, commenting that anyone would think London was the U.S Champ for the last seven months, and not him. He then says if anyone seems to have forgotten that fact, he’ll take great pleasure in reminding the entire world on Sunday, and will give them a taste of what’s to come, by beating the snot out of Jeff Hardy. Promptly, the angered champion storms from the interview set, as we fade to ringside…
We get a glance of Jeff Hardy, as Styles and King hype the main event, before cutting off to the final commercial of the evening.
**MEET YOUR MASTER**
Carrying the United States title, Brent Albright makes his way to the ring, and wastes no time getting the action under way, but screws up, with Jeff beating him to the punch!!!
Main Event | NON-TITLE MATCH:
Brent Albright vs. Jeff Hardy
After a hot start from Hardy, the superior Albright takes over. Being the bigger man, Brent tries to tire Jeff down, but quickly realises Hardy wont roll over for him tonight, with Jeff fighting at every step, refusing to fold for the champion. During the early stages, both mens participation in the King of the Ring tournament is touched on, and also their involvement with Judgment Day on Sunday. The Charismatic Enigma gives the champion a fright or two with a few near falls, with Albright taking his eye off the ball, getting rather rattled by the fighting spirit of Jeff.
With his reckless abandon, Jeff Hardy dropkicks the champion out of the ring, then crashes out onto Albright, with the fans gaining in voice, with Hardy turning up the excitement levels. Back inside, Hardy hits his front suplex for a near fall, then sends Brent into the corner, but Albright fires back out, knocking his opponent down with a forearm smash. From that, it’s all Albright, as he targets the arm, setting up for the Crowbar.
Jeff though, still isn’t done, and comes roaring back, fighting the champion off, and even attempts the TWIST OF FATE … BUT ALBRIGHT REVERSES AND SCORES WITH AN ARM BREAKER!!! The fans enthusiasm dies off, with Brent playing buzz kill, quickly scurrying for the CROWBAR … BUT HARDY INSTANTLY GRABS THE ROPES!!! Jeff survives, but Albright is like a shark tasting blood, and comes for the arm again … BUT JEFF KICKS HIM AWAY … AND SHOCKS BRENT WITH A NECKBREAKER!!!
Albright is down, but Hardy refuses the cover, and instead climbs the ropes looking for the SWANTON BOMB, still selling his arm injury … and it costs him dearly, as Brent leaps into action … AND ARM DRAGS JEFF OFF THE TOP!!! Hardy rolls around, clutching his arm, as Brent lies in wait, and grabs Jeff as he gets up … HALF NELSON SUPLEX!!! Hardy looks to be finished … but Albright isn’t … AND APPLIES THE CROWBAR!!! Hardy is caught in the middle of the ring, and despite making a reach for the ropes, but they are too far … AND HE SUBMITS!!!
Winner: Brent Albright @ 11:29
A big win for Albright tonight, sending a message to London, as he is handed his title, and climbs the ropes, pointing to the name plate on his title, stating that ‘NOTHING IS CHANGING’, as Styles and King do another quick sell for Judgment Day, as we go off the air.
