FEIST: Women's Pro Wrestling

In the deepest underground of professional wrestling, a new franchise is evolving. Some call it unusual, many call it unconventional. A new company which is based entirely on the art of women’s pro wrestling and the newfound American joshi style that once made companies like SHIMMER so successful. This is FEIST: Women’s Pro Wrestling, and it aims to show you why women’s pro wrestling will never be the same again.

FEIST is an all-female promotion. It prides itself in showcasing the best female wrestlers of this generation, and aims to overall change the negative karma about women's professional wrestling in general. Shows come in the form of usually (but not strictly set) bi-weekly tapings, which are then sent straight to DVD. But how did this idea, this ground breaking new promotion come about? Well...

It is October 2009 and the world of women’s wrestling is in jeopardy. SHIMMER Pro Wrestling, the top female wrestling industry in Northern USA, has been forced to close its doors due to the bad karma surrounding female pro wrestling leaving the company with low buy rates and dismal ticket sales. WWE and TNA have become more specialised in male wrestling, meaning women’s matches happen once in a blue moon. One man has realised this, but has also realised the potential that women’s wrestling can have. That man? James Mariati.

A complete unknown to the wrestling circuit, Mariati has been a man who has always aimed to provide wrestling fans with a suitable niche. But none of his ideas have worked, and have left him chewing on his own words. But Mariati has strong beliefs, and being a big fan of women’s wrestling, he was there to see women’s wrestling reach a pinnacle until it slowly began to decline. But instead of seeing the decline as a bad thing, he sees it as something good. An opportunity to show wrestling fans the true reality of what they’re missing. With some money aside, Mariati purchased an old disused warehouse in Cincinnati, Ohio, and then transformed this into an arena. He then decided of the name of the company- FEIST- which would personify something each and every individual on the roster has.

Then came the good part, the wrestlers he would gain. Always intending to make a shock, Mariati wanted noticeable women wrestlers to attract fans to the appeal of FEIST. He got talking, and found out that many women’s wrestlers were currently unhappy with their position in wrestling. With his skills, Mariati managed to persuade wrestlers along, and even managed to gain open contracts with some of WWE’s top female performers. But this wasn’t some random gain- it showed that every woman on the roster was alongside Mariati’s plan. They wanted to show the world what women’s pro wrestling is all about, and how it can survive along new grounds and platforms.
