Peter Tagtgren, I salute you. I salute you for making possibly the best melodic death metal album this year and that's no mean feat with how saturated the genre has become with cheap knockoffs trying to emulate the mainstream success of In Flames and to a lesser extent, Soilwork. With the exception of one song (No Tomorrow) each track is chock full of heaviness, topped with a healthy lashing of melody and sprinkled with the classic Tagtgren production - not over-polished but certainly not raw either.

What makes this such an awesome experience is, without a doubt, the inventive and catchy riffs dotted throughout the album. Every song feels unique and different to the one before and never gets boring even when the vocals start going into the realms of extra-terrestrial life (and let's face it, how many heavy metal bands sing about little green men anymore?!).

Highly recommended for anyone with an inclination to enjoying moving their head up and down in a vigorous manner.

9/10.
