D-K-L Presents: WWE 2009 - Time to Shine

My last thread was a TNA one and it ended back in August > http://www.wrestlingforum.com/booker...-right-24.html

D-K-L Presents: WWE 2009 – Time to Shine
Starting after Bragging Rights

-- The Miz defeated John Morrison

-- The Smackdown Divas (Michelle McCool, Beth Phoenix and Natalya) defeated the Raw Diva’s (Melina, Kelly Kelly and Gail Kim) in a Six-Diva Tag Match

-- The Undertaker beat Batista, Rey Mysterio and CM Punk to retain the World Heavyweight Title

-- Team Smackdown (Chris Jericho, Kane, The Hart Dynasty, Finlay, R-Truth and Matt Hardy) defeated Team Raw (D-Generation X, The Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger and Mark Henry) in the 14-man Bragging Rights Match

-- John Cena defeated Randy Orton in the 60-minute Iron Man Match to regain the WWE Championship

-- The WWE has today made the tough decision of cancelling its show ECW with immediate effect. Most of the ECW stars will get a chance to earn roster spots on Raw and Smackdown over the next few weeks through victories in tryout matches. As things stand Christian’s ECW Title still exists, with a decision due to be made regarding the title over the next few weeks.

-- Following the disbandment of ECW the WWE has made a series of releases, including cuts from other brands. Released from the company are:
• The Bella Twins
• Gregory Helms
• Goldust
• Tyler Reks
• Rosa Mendes
• The Great Khali
• Ranjin Singh
• Festus
• Kung Fu Naki
• Tony Atlas

The WWE wishes them the best of luck in their future endeavours.

-- However the company is proud to announce the signings of five wrestlers, they are:
• Angel Williams
• Umaga
• Sonjay Dutt
• Bryan Danielson
• James Mitchell

The WWE would like to welcome these talents to the company, with a special welcome back to Umaga. Their future brands, along with the former ECW stars, will be decided over the coming weeks.

-- The disbandment of ECW was a surprise to many backstage given its relative success over the years; however the reason the WWE are giving is that they wish to focus on their two main shows, in particular Raw, which was said to be getting worse. With less to concentrate on it is hoped that their flagship shows will really pick up.

-- The cancellation of ECW will not affect WWE’s Superstars show, which will continue to run as normal

-- The signings of Angel Williams and Sonjay Dutt raised a few eyebrows backstage, especially in Dutt’s case seeing as he was never a ‘big deal’ during his TNA stint. However Dutt is said to be popular due to his athletic style, and with rumours that a Cruiserweight Title could be re-introduced, he would seemingly fit right in. Dutt was also brought in to satisfy the WWE’s huge Indian market following the release of The Great Khali. Angel Williams on the other hand has sorted out her visa issues, and while she apparently had the option to re-sign with TNA, she instead opted to sign with the WWE due her treatment during her troubles. The WWE apparently see a lot of potential for her this time.

-- The signing of James Mitchell has also raised a few eyebrows, but many see him as a top manager with great mic skills, and there are rumors that he will be put together with a former ECW Superstar in the future

-- It is thought that the whole “Celebrity Guest Host” angle on Raw will end soon, possibly even on Monday Night’s Raw. Joey Lagano and Kyle Bush were set to host Raw this Monday night but had to cancel, and with no replacement announced it seems it could mark the end of the angle. One rumour making the rounds is that only WWE legends will guest host in the future, but it is still unclear with an announcement set to be made on Raw.

It's good to be back. It should take a while to get comfortable with the WWE characters after booking TNA for so long, but hopefully this will be a success. I think that's everything for now, and expect a preview for Raw to go up over the weekend.
