Have you not heard Mark Tremonti and Scott Phillips play their instruments? Tremonti's one of the better modern rock guitarists today so bite your tongue before you start questioning how talented these people really are.

Also, even people that hate Evanescence can tell you that while the band itself may not be the most creative thing on the planet, she has pipes and she is a very controlled and powerful singer.
