Gerweck.net News and Notes

- As you might have figured, the draft trades were planned for the actual draft but was scrapped for the TNA/ECW draft.

- Also, Vince is said to be really looking forward to the Backlash announcement.

- WWE has also said to be looking for more talent for there X-Division. Also, WWE has said they have a big name planned for the X-Division tournament.
- WGN Superstars is said to going to have four segments, two for each brand each one can either be for a match or a promo.

Smackdown! Preview

- Last week, Mr. McMahon announced his daughter Stephanie McMahon, was once again Smackdown! General Manager, that was not the only bombshell dropped however, as she announced that World Heavyweight Championship and the ECW Championship will be unified at Backlash when John Cena will go one-on-one with Christian. This week both men will have a contact signing, who knows what will happen?

- Also, Stephanie McMahon announced the Smackdown! acquirement of the X-Division Title. On Smackdown!, there were two quarterfinal matches for the 8-man tournament. X-division staples and partners Alex Shelly and Chris Sabin nade there debut in a match that ended in a double count-out. Then, Shelton Benjamin scored an upset over Straight-Edge Superstar CM Punk when he received some unexpected help. Due to the other contest ending in a draw, Shelton Benjamin advances to the finales having only won one match the other two quarterfinals will take place on Smackdown! with the semifinal match taking place on the debut of WWE Superstars on WGN America next Thursday.

- As mentioned above a definite favorite for the X-Division tournament the only two-time Money in the Bank winner CM Punk was cost his match-up when Chris Jericho’s music and pyro went off. Few believe this was just a production mistake, and CM Punk will address the situation on Smackdown!

- Finally, making there first appearances since there losses at Wrestlemania, the World’s Largest Athlete: The Big Show will take on The Charismatic Enigma: Jeff Hardy. What will happen when these two former World Champions go one-on-one?
