Re: WWE 2006 & Beyond by ddmrko
July 24, 2006
“Across the nation” hits and the RAW opening video plays. The fireworks and pyro explodes and we are greeted by the RAW commentators Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler.
Jim Ross: Hello everyone. I’m Good Ol’ J.R., Jim Ross, here with Jerry “The King” Lawler and what a hell of a show we have for you here tonight.
Jerry Lawler: Absolutely J.R., tonight one-half of D-Generation X, “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels, takes on Kenny of The Spirit Squad.
Jim Ross: Also tonight, “Mr. Monday Night” Rob Van Dam takes on a member of the Rated R Army, Shelton Benjamin. RVD and Benjamin in what is sure to be an ultra-athletic match up here tonight.
“Time to Rock And Roll” hits to a good pop. Trish Stratus makes her way to the ring receiving a good pop from the Lafayette audience.
Lilian Garcia: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and it will determine the #1 contender to the WWE Women’s Championship. Introducing first, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, TRISH STRATUS!
J.R.: Our first match up of the night between two women who want a piece of the Women’s Champion Mickie James. Lets take you back to last week.
***In the backstage area, Trish Stratus and Melina argued over who would get to fight Mickie James. The heated argument quickly turned into a brawl. After Melina was carried away from the fracas, Mickie James assaulted Trish from behind***
King: Mickie James has really established dominance over the divas since WrestleMania 22.
J.R.: She’s been impressive. No doubt about that.
“Paparazzi” hits to decent amount of heat. Melina makes her way down her red carpet and down to the ring.
Lilian: And her opponent, from Hollywood California, MELINA!
J.R.: This should be an intense match up between two women who do not have the most loving of…..
“Mickie” hits to a mixed reaction as the Women’s Champion Mickie James makes her way down to the ring. Trish Stratus becomes distracted by Mickie which allow Melina to attack her from behind. Mickie joins J.R. and The King at the announce position.
Trish Stratus vs. Melina
#1 Contender to the Women’s Championship
Melina has the distinct advantage as this match up begins. Melina hits Trish with several forearm shots which backs the beautiful blonde up against the ropes. Melina shoots Trish off the ropes. Trish catches Melina with a Lou Thesz press. The former 6-time Women’s Champion then begins to rain down right hands on Melina. Trish gets off of Melina and lifts her back to her feet. Trish shoots Melina into the corner. Trish charges at Melina but the evil diva gets her boot up and into the face of Stratus. Melina charges out of the corner, grabs Trish by the hair, jumps up and drills Trish with a spinning face buster. Melina covers Trish.
Trish kicks out. Melina lifts Trish back up to her feet and shoots her off of the ropes. Melina gets set too early and Trish manages to kick Melina square in the face. Melina stumbles backwards. Trish charges at Melina and attempts to hit a clothesline. Melina ducks, turns back around and charges at Trish. Trish counters and hits Melina with a nasty spine buster. Trish gets back up to her feet and begins to “stalk” Melina. When Melina gets back up to her feet….MICKIE JAMES enters the ring and clotheslines both Melina and Trish down to the canvas.
(No Contest at 5:32)
J.R.: DAMN IT! Mickie James interfering in this match up.
King: I guess she doesn’t want any contenders J.R..
Mickie lifts Trish up to her feet. Mickie shoots her off the ropes. Trish comes back and takes Mickie down with a double leg takedown. Trish starts to wail away on Mickie. Melina comes up from behind and pulls Trish off of Mickie by the hair. Melina then mounts Mickie and begins to hit right hands on Mickie. Trish pulls Melina off of Mickie as referees come to the ring to separate the three divas as we go to commercial break.
***When we come back from the break, we see Triple H walking into the D-Generation X locker room***
HHH: Shawn. Listen. There has been a lot of tension between us recently. I just want to say. That when we’re out there tonight. I got your back.
HBK: Yeah. No hard feelings.
HHH: I’m glad.
HBK: But…if you don’t mind I want to go out there by myself tonight. You don’t come down during the match.
HHH: I thought everything was straight.
HBK: We’re cool but bad things happen when you get involved. I’ll catch you later Hunter.
Michaels leaves the locker room as Triple H has a slightly angry look on his face.
***We cut to the parking lot***
A limousine pulls up to the arena. The chauffer opens the door and Vince McMahon walks out to heat from the audience. Maria walks up to Mr. McMahon.
Maria: Mr. McMahon, what do you have to say about what happened between you and your son.
Mr. McMahon: My son Shane hasn’t been returning any of my phone calls. You know Maria, there comes a time when you need to look in the mirror and accept responsibility. The problems between me and my son is only the reason of one thing. That thing is……DX! This is all DX’s fault. They’ve ruined my life and now they’ve ruined the relationship between me and my son.
Maria: Don’t you think that your ego had a little to do with it?
Mr. McMahon: Ego? MY EGO?! YOU LITTLE……wait a minute. That’s genius. Maria you’re a genius. EGO!
Vince walks into the arena with a smile on his face as Maria looks on confused.
***We cut back to the ringside***
J.R.: Apparently McMahon has a genius idea. What the hell do you think it is?
King: I don’t know what it is but you can bet it involves DX.
J.R.: And they’re having problems of their own.
“Black Hole” hits to no reaction as this music has never been heard in a WWE arena before. Abyss (w/ Jim Mitchell) makes his way to the ring with steel chain around his right hand.
Lilian: Weighing in at 350 pounds, ABYSS!
J.R.: Ladies and gentlemen, this big SOB took put Kane last week. Lets show you how it went down.
***Last week: At the request of Paul Bearer, Jim Mitchell unleashed Abyss on “The Big Red Machine” Kane. Abyss delivered the 360 degree spinning sidewalk slam on Kane. Abyss then wrapped a chair around the throat of Kane, went to the top turnbuckle, jumped, and CRUSHED KANE’S THROAT!!!***
King: Kane put out of action indefinitely by this monster. I wonder who’s next.
“Child’s Play” hits to a decent pop. Eugene makes his way down to the ring with “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan by his side.
Lilian: And his opponent, from Louisville, Kentucky, weighing in at 238 pounds, EUGENE!
Abyss vs. Eugene
Eugene charges at Abyss and begins wildly swinging away at the 300 pounder. Abyss shoves him away. Eugene charges in again and this time runs into a nasty clothesline. Abyss lifts Eugene back up to his feet and shoots him into the corner. Abyss then charges into the corner and drills Eugene with an avalanche splash. Abyss lifts Eugene back onto his feet and shoots him off of the ropes. When Eugene comes back, Abyss drills him with a 360 degree spinning sidewalk slam. Abyss with the cover.
(WINNER: Abyss via pinfall at 2:12)
J.R.: That is one deadly man. I spoke to Mitchell earlier and he said that move is called The Black Hole Slam. Apparently Abyss isn’t done. THAT’S ENOUGH!
Abyss attempts to go back after Eugene. “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan gets in the ring and tries to attack Abyss. Abyss hit’s a clubbing punch to the face and then shoots Duggan off of the ropes and hits Duggan with A Black Hole Slam. Abyss then grunts and leaves the ring.
J.R.: My God! Last week this big son of a bitch crushed Kane’s throat. This week he just laid out Eugene and Jim Duggan.
King: This guy is scary.
***We cut to the backstage area with The Coach standing by***
Coach: Ladies and gentlemen, my guest at this time…“The Nature Boy” Ric Flair!
The audience pops as Flair comes into screenshot.
Coach: Ric, I gotta ask you how you are feeling just seven days passed from losing a match for the WWE Title?
Flair: I’m not in the mood Coach. Get to the point.
Coach: What did you think about the Cactus Jack video that distracted you in last week’s title match?
Flair: What do I think? What do I think? I think it was complete bullsh*t (Audience pops)! Typical Foley. He says he wants me! He wants me! Foley is a coward! He wont show up tonight! He wont show up next week! Its going to be video after video because Foley will never show up to go one on one! There’s nothing I can do about that. But I tell you what I can do and I‘ll tell you what I‘m GONNA do. I’m gonna find Edge and The Rated R Army and I’m gonna wear their asses out! WHOO! WHOO! WHOO!
Flair leaves screen shot to a great ovation.
“Metalingus” hits to tremendous heat. Edge and The Rated R Army (Lita, Shelton Benjamin, Chris Masters, Intercontinental Champion Johnny Nitro and Melina) make their way down to the ring. Edge grabs a microphone and prepares to speak as the fans shower them in boos.
Edge: Once again, we get screwed. How did we open the show tonight? We had pyro and explosions and then….we went right to the show. Was there any mention of my great title win last week. NO! And what about tonight’s main event. Are any of us in the main event. NO! We need to see “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels take on Kenny for the 500th time! So how do we earn respect by taking out all those who don’t want to see us succeed. It started last week with that washed up piece of crap Ric Flair (audience boos). And it continues tonight with the former, and I reiterate, FORMER WWE Champion Rob Van Dam (audience pops for RVD’s name). Van Dam you used to be considered an innovative athlete. But now you’re considered yesterday’s news. Because tonight you face the greatest athlete in the history of this business. A former Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion. Ladies and gentlemen, SHUT YOUR MOUTHS and applaud, SHELTON BENJAMIN!
The audience boos as Shelton raises his arms. “One of a Kind” blasts over the P.A. system as Rob Van Dam (w/ Joey Mercury and Carlito) walks down the ramp to a huge ovation.
Lilian: And his opponent, from Battle Creek, Michigan, weighing in at 235 pounds, ROB VAN DAM!
J.R.: Apparently RVD brought a little backup here with him.
King: Yeah but he’s still outnumbered, three to six.
Shelton Benjamin vs. Rob Van Dam
Benjamin and Van Dam grapple in a collar and elbow tie up. Benjamin uses his strength advantage to gain the upper hand and he backs Van Dam into a corner. The referee counts to four and Benjamin breaks the tie up. Benjamin takes a swing at Van Dam in the corner but Van Dam ducks and backs Shelton into the corner. Van Dam hits several forearm shots to the face of Benjamin. Van Dam then hit’s a couple of shoulder thrusts before performing a back flip and hitting a big one. Van Dam lifts Shelton up and shoots him into the opposite corner. Van Dam charges into the corner jumps up and grabs Shelton. RVD then performs a monkey flip but Benjamin land on his feet. Van Dam charges at Benjamin again but this time Benjamin catches Van Dam and hit’s a Samoan Drop. Benjamin with the cover.
Van Dam kicks out.
Benjamin lifts Van Dam up and shoots him off the ropes. Van Dam comes back off the ropes and jumps up and over the back of Shelton, whom got set too early. Shelton turns around to face Van Dam who then catches Benjamin with a standing shuffle sidekick. Van Dam drags Shelton’s prone body towards the corner. Van Dam jumps up and onto the turnbuckle and hits Shelton with the Split-legged Moonsault. Van Dam with the cover.
Shelton barely kicks out. Lita gets up onto the apron. Van Dam gets distracted by Lita. Shelton comes running at Van Dam at full speed. RVD gets out of the way. Shelton manages to stop his momentum before he crashes into Lita. Van Dam comes up from behind Shelton and hits him with a German suplex with a bridge. RVD with a cover.
Van Dam looks slightly frustrated but refocuses. Van Dam walks over to the corner and jumps up onto the top turnbuckle. Shelton gets back up to his feet. Shelton runs over to the corner and hops up onto the top turnbuckle. The crowd cheers wildly at the athleticism of Benjamin. Benjamin hits RVD with stiff right hands, trying to incapacitate him. Shelton goes for a superplex but Van Dam counters. Van Dam hits Shelton with a couple of shots to the gut and finally manages to knock Shelton off of the turnbuckle. Van Dam looks around at the crowd as Benjamin lays prone on the canvas. Van Dam jumps off the turnbuckle and hits his FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH! Van Dam with the cover.
(WINNER: Van Dam via pinfall at 12:12)
J.R.: What a huge win for…..ah hell!
Before Van Dam can start to celebrate his hard fought victory, The Rated R Army attacks Van Dam. Carlito and Joey Mercury enter the ring and a huge brawl is on. Edge, Lita and Melina are on the outside of the ring smiling as The Rated R Army begins to gain the upper hand. The audience begins to go wild as “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair comes to the ring with a PIPE in hand. Flair drills Masters right in the face with the pipe. Flair then hits Shelton and then Nitro! The crowd continues to cheer as Flair is the only one left standing in the ring. “WRECK” blasts over the loudspeaker. Flair looks angrily at the titantron as the fans cheer. Classic gruesome and bloody clips of Cactus Jack’s career begins to play. The video ends with Jack’s voice saying “I WANT RIC FLAIR!” Flair looks at the video with distain. Flair turns around and is SPEARED by the WWE Champion. Edge laughs at Flair as Edge is the only one left standing in the ring.
J.R.: For the second week in a row, a Cactus Jack video package has gotten “The Nature Boy” speared in half.
King: Flair is going to want to kill Foley. But will he ever show up?
***We return from break. Maria is standing by in the backstage area***
Maria: HI! I’m Maria and I’m back here with The Spirit Squad.
Kenny: Ken Doane.
The other members of The Spirit Squad look at Kenny with confused looks on their faces.
Kenny: Look guys. Call me Ken Doane from now on. I’m sick of being treated like a damn joke around here. I’m gonna go out there and I’m gonna kick the crap out of Shawn Michaels. Because, I’m not the showstopper. I’m the show stealer. Now can I get a “Go Get Him Ken!” on three. 1...2.….3.
Spirit Squad (unenthusiastically): Go get him Ken.
***We cut back to ringside***
J.R.:……ok. Last week, right here on the special three hour edition of Monday night RAW, we witnessed a brutal, brutal match up between Randy Orton and John Cena. Lets take you back.
***Orton and Cena are having a hell of a match. Orton has used illegal tactics the whole match but has not been able to keep Cena down. Finally, after several RKOs, a stiff chair shot and a RKO on the chair, Orton picks up the three count at 19:56. After the match Cena is battered and bloody mess***
“Burn In My Light” hits to a loud mixed reaction, probably 60/40 negative. “The Legend Killer” Randy Orton walks from the backstage area and appears on the ramp. Orton does his signature “destiny” pose as his pyro falls down. Orton arrogantly walks to the ring.
Lilian: Introducing first, from St. Louis, Missouri, weighing in at 245 pounds, “The Legend Killer” RANDY ORTON!
J.R.: There he is. Randy Orton screwed John Cena out of a victory last week. We have been told that Cena will not be here tonight due to a severe concussion he suffered last week.
King: I guess Cena learned his lesson. If Randy gives you two RKOs and spits in your face…just let it go. Or else he’ll make you a bloody mess. Ha! Ha!
“Pay The Price” hits to a decent face reaction. Charlie Haas makes his way down the ramp.
Lilian: And his opponent, from Edmond, Oklahoma, weighing in at 238 pounds, CHARLIE HAAS!
Randy Orton vs. Charlie Haas
Orton comes right at Haas and attempts a clothesline. Haas ducks the lariat and throws a succession of right hands at Orton. Haas backs Orton up against the ropes. Haas shoots him off of the ropes and catches Orton with a back body drop. The crowd cheers slightly as Haas is in control of the match up. Haas lifts Orton off of the ground and shoots him off the ropes again. This time, Haas gets set too early and Orton drills him with a stiff kick to the face. Orton then close to Haas and drills the former Tag Champion with a beautiful standing dropkick. Orton then goes down to the canvas and begins to stalk Haas. Haas slowly gets up to his feet. Orton jumps up and attempts to hit the RKO. Haas counters by shoving Orton off of the rope. When Orton comes back, Haas wraps his arms around Orton’s waist, pops his hips and takes Orton over with a perfect Belly to belly suplex. Haas lets out a scream in excitement as he has taken control once again. Haas points to the turnbuckle, which causes the audience to get louder in their cheering. Haas goes over to the corner and climbs the turnbuckle. Haas sets up top and waits for “The Legend Killer” to get back up to his feet. Orton slowly gets up and turns around. Haas jumps off the turnbuckle with a cross body but Orton jumps up and catches Haas right in the gut with a dropkick. Orton has an arrogant smile on his face as he begins to stalk Haas once again. Haas gets back up to his feet, gingerly, holding his stomach. Haas turns around and Orton drills Haas with the RKO. Orton with the cover.
(WINNER: Randy Orton via pinfall at 6:03):
J.R.: Another impressive win by Randy Orton. Whether you love him or you’re like most of America and you hate him, you have to admit that Randy Orton is one of the best in the business today.
King: He may be THE best J.R..
Orton arrogantly kicks Haas in the head. Orton then yells for Haas to get up. The fans begin to boo Orton until….“My Time Is Now” hits to a tremendously loud mixed reaction, probably about 50/50. John Cena runs down to the ring with a huge bandage on his forehead. Cena takes Orton down with a tackle and immediately begins to take big shots at Orton’s head. Orton covers up as Cena swings like a wild man. Cena lifts Orton up. Orton pokes Cena in the eye and rolls out of the ring. Orton then takes off running up the ramp. Orton stops once he’s on the stage. Cena grabs a mic from ringside.
Cena: ORTON! I want your blood (Loud mixed reaction)! And I’m gonna get it one way or another! You can’t run and you can’t hide! So listen up. I’m not cleared to wrestle until SummerSlam. So either I chase you around this arena and have you looking over your shoulder every second of the day. Or you and me can go one on one at SummerSlam…..in a FIRST BLOOD match (Loud pop)! Your call, Randy.
Orton thinks about it for a second and then very timidly shakes his head ‘yes’ which garners a huge pop from the crowd. Cena smiles as he finally gets what he wants from Orton.
J.R.: Oh my. RAW’s first match for SummerSlam has been set I guess. John Cena vs. Randy Orton in a First Blood match.
King: Orton was blackmailed into this match. This is ridiculous. Now Randy has to deal with this nut for a second time.
*Shot of Shawn Michaels walking backstage*
J.R.: Well anyway, up next, one-half of D-Generation X, “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels takes on Kenny of….
King: Ken Doane, J.R..
J.R.: Michaels vs. Ken Doane. NEXT!
“Spirit” hits to decent heat. Ken Doane and the rest of The Spirit Squad make their way to the ring. The rest of the Spirit Squad is jumping up and down like hyperactive kids but Doane is walking focused to the ring.
Lilian: Ladies and gentlemen, this is the main event and it is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, from Worchester, Massachusetts, weighing in at 234 pounds, KEN DOANE!
Doane enters the ring and begins to warm up. The rest of the Squad looks on from ringside.
J.R.: Kenny looks ready for this match. He looks more focused than he has been his entire career for this match.
King: Ken Doane, J.R.. Not Kenny. Get it right.
“Sexy Boy” hits to a great ovation. “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels makes his way to the ring as the fans go crazy.
Lilian: And his opponent, from San Antonio, Texas, weighing in at 225 pounds, “The Heartbreak Kid” SHAWN MICHAELS!
Michaels enters the ring as the fans continue to cheer.
J.R.: Well, I guess Triple H is going to listen to his partner and stay in the backstage area.
King: That was the stupidest move Shawn Michaels and Triple H could have ever made. The Spirit Squad have a serious numbers advantage. It could have been 2 on 5. Now its 5 on 1.
J.R.: Either way, DX is having some serious problems.
Shawn Michaels vs. Ken Doane
Michaels and Doane lock up to start the match off. The two struggle for leverage for several seconds but the two superstars eventually break the hold. Doane slaps Michaels right across the face. Michaels smiles and then laughs. Michaels then slaps Doane with a very hard slap, which causes Doane to stumble backward. Michaels then nails him with several hard right hands. Michaels then tries to shoot off the ropes but Doane grabs Michaels by the hair and pulls him down to the canvas. Doane then starts stomping on Michaels. Doane then lifts him up and shoots Michaels off the ropes. Doane gets set early and Michaels performs a sunset flip into a pinning predicament.
Two…….Doane kicks out!
Michaels and Doane are both quickly back up to their feet. Doane goes for a clothesline but Michaels ducks it. Michaels lifts up Doane an hit’s a inverted atomic drop. Michaels shoots off of the ropes and nails him with a “flying burrito”. Michaels kips up back to his feet. Doane also kips up. Michaels charges at Doane but he catches Michaels with a back elbow. Doane then grabs Michaels by the head and throws him over the top rope. Michaels hold onto the top rope and lands on the apron. Doane punches Michaels in the face. Doane then applies a front face lock and suplexes Michaels into the ring. Doane then goes over to a corner and begins to stomp his foot like HBK. The fans give Doane tremendous heat as he is preparing to use Michaels own finishing move against him. Michaels gets back up to his feet and Doane attempts the super kick. Michaels avoids the move and hits the former Kenny with a knife-edged chop. Doane kicks Michaels into the gut and shoots him into the ropes. HBK comes back and hits him with a flying forearm. Michaels kips up and the fans go crazy. Doane slowly gets back to his feet. Michaels grabs him and hit’s a inverted atomic drop. Michaels shoots off the ropes and hit’s a clothesline. Michaels flies off the turnbuckle and hits his flying elbow drop. The fans go wild as HBK goes over to a corner and begins stomping his feet. The Spirit Squad run into the ring and they all come at Michaels. The ref calls for the bell.
(WINNER: Michaels via DQ at 8:12)
Michaels tries to fight off The Spirit Squad but eventually the numbers catch up with him. Eventually the cheerleaders get Michaels to the mat and begin stomping away. The fans chant “TRIPLE H!” but he doesn’t show up. The Squad get ready to hit their signature as each member grabs a body part of Michaels but……..“THE GAME” hits to the loudest ovation of the night. Triple H runs down to the ring with sledgehammer in hand. HHH drills Mikey right in the head with the hammer knocking Mikey out cold. Ken Doane leaves the ring and runs up the ramp. Hunter drops the hammer and starts swinging away on Nicky. HBK recovers and starts to brawl with Mitch. Michaels throws Mitch out of the ring. HHH hit’s the Pedigree on Nicky at the same time that HBK hits Sweet Chin Music on Johnny. The fans go crazy as DX stands alone in the ring. Hunter and Michaels look at each other and then hug in the ring. The crowd explodes.
J.R.: Throughout all the problems DX is still standing tall. No matter what…..now what?
“No Chance” hits to huge heat. Vince McMahon appears on the apron.
McMahon: I’m glad you’re both here. As you may have saw I was talking to Maria and it struck something. I’ve been going at you guys the wrong way. Maria mentioned ego. So that is my final card. At SummerSlam on August 20. Edge will defend his WWE Championship against…….Triple H!
The audience explodes as HHH finally gets a title shot. Michaels looks slightly annoyed and upset but then congratulates Hunter.
McMahon: Edge will defend his title against Triple H and SHAWN MICHAELS in a triple threat match.
HHH and HBK look at each other with somewhat shocked expressions as they realize that it will be every man for himself.
McMahon: Good luck.
King: GENIUS! GENIUS!
J.R.: That no good, rotten, son of a..
King: He’s a genius J.R.. EGO! Triple H and Shawn Michaels have the two biggest egos on the planet. Their egos have their own orbit. Michaels always wants to be the best and Hunter always wants to be the champ. This is going to be the destruction of DX!
J.R.: Good night everybody! DAMN IT!
RAW goes off the air with Triple H and Shawn Michaels staring holes through each other.
WORST OF BOTH WORLDS PODCAST
The boys talk WWE SummerSlam, NXT Takeover, and Monday Night RAW. Mac worships the higher power that is Sasha Banks, while Cash rips Sting (and his fans) a new asshole.
