WCW Wednesday Nitro Preview- October 17, 2001

World Championship Wrestling will host its next primetime edition of Wednesday Nitro on NBC this Wednesday night at 8 PM EST from the Savvis Arena, in St. Louis, Missouri! Join “The Voice of WCW” Tony Schiavone and “The Professor” Mike Tenay for another two-hour, action packed edition of World Championship Wrestling!

Last week on Wednesday Nitro, ‘Big Poppa Pump’ Scott Steiner felt the wrath of being kicked out of the New World Order. Steiner was forced to face ‘Hollywood’ Hulk Hogan in a match, and although Steiner clearly was the better man, Hogan still secured the victory after interference from all of the New World Order! That includes KroniK, Brian Adams and Bryan Clarke, who joined the stable earlier in the broadcast. Tonight, Scott Steiner will be forced into another match, this time against another huge legend, ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair! However, this time, there will be a special stipulation! Eric Bischoff has promised something special for this match against two of his biggest rivals, but what will he have in store? Is this just a ploy to destroy his two enemies? Or is Bischoff going to give one of these two men a Title shot against Jeff Jarrett, something both men badly want! You’re just going to have to tune into Wednesday Nitro to find out!

After the main event last week, a wild brawl broke out between WCW, the nWo, and Scott Steiner! However, the ‘gunshot’ that started the brawl was a steel chair shot to Hulk Hogan, by the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Booker T! Tonight, Booker T will be in the Savvis Arena, and will get the opportunity to speak his mind for the first time since losing the WCW World Title at Fall Brawl. Will Booker T explain his actions last week as to why it was Hulk Hogan he singled out, or will Booker T just challenge the whole entire nWo!? Watch the show to see!

Last week on Nitro, Lance Storm kicked off his International Open Challenge with a victory of ‘Das Wonderkin’ Alex Wright, from Germany. However, this week, the challenge will pick up greatly! The Canadian’s challenge this week has been accepted by a ‘foreigner’… in Storm’s eye! This week, the undefeated ‘New Enforcer’ Cal Anderson will take on Lance Storm for the WCW North American Title! It’s undefeated streak versus Title on Nitro! Also, WCW Cruiserweight Champion ‘Suga’ Shane Helms takes on Jamie Noble! Newest nWo members KroniK take on the troublesome Mamalukes! Plus appearances by all of the New World Order, ‘The Young Lions’ Chuck Palumbo and Sean O’Haire, Cal Anderson, and Sting! Nitro promises to be an exciting showcase of professional wrestling that you do not want to miss! Be sure to tune into NBC this Wednesday night at 8 PM EST to catch all the action!

Confirmed Matches:

Ric Flair vs. Scott Steiner
WCW North American Championship: Lance Storm © vs. Cal Anderson
KroniK vs. Mamalukes
