RAW - TWO WEEKS FROM COTC !!
RAW : 30th August 2004: Oklahoma City;
Instead of the usual Pyro, Mick Foleyís music hits in the arena and we see the GM make his way to the ring, which is surrounded by roughly 90% of the RAW locker room. He gets into the ring and tells the crowd that he has ordered the RAW superstars to make their way to the ring for his announcement of the RAW 5 Man Squad for Clash of the Champions.
He then calls in his first pickÖBooker T! Booker gets into the ring and shakes hands with Foley. Foley then announces that the next two superstars in the team are not ringside right now, as they have a huge main event tonight, Shawn Michaels & Kane!
Foley then states that he has signed a match later tonight to determine another place in the team, between Batista and RVD!! He then makes the final pick. He looks around the ring, and realises that the man he was about to pick isnít there. He then says that even though he isnít here, his final pick will beÖ..RANDY ORTON!!!
Immediately, Evolutions music hits and all three men make their way to the ring. Orton laughs and asks Mick if he is serious. He then tells Mick that he wouldnít do Foley a favour, even if his life depended on it. Orton then tells Foley, that he doesnít want to be on Foleyís side, he wants a match with Foley, 1 on 1!! Foley shakes his head. Orton laughs again and says he will make Foley crack. He then rejects Foleys invite and turns away. Then HBKís music hits. He walks to the ring and goes nose to nose with Orton. He tells Orton that he will put all his differences aside with Foley and represent RAW at COTC, or there is a whole locker room waiting to kick his ass. Orton thinks about and discusses with Flair. He then agrees to take part in the match, but still wants a piece of Foley.

Matt goes at it with Steven, and gets the upper hand. He tags in Lita, but she is sucker punched by Richards, who pretends to be injured. For a long period, he and Victoria control the match, keeping Lita in the corner by cheating, and double teaming. Eventually, Matt has enough and attacks Richards. We see Mr. McMahon making his way backstage and we are told his announcement is up next.
We return with Mr. McMahon in the ring. He takes the microphone and begins to speak; ď Tonight, I had planned to make an earth shattering announcement. An announcement so big, that the wrestling world would never EVER be the same again, but unfortunately it WONíT happen.
You see, I had planned for Clash of the Champions to be an event for closure. Closure between two people that have had problems for seven years, but NEVER went one on one to settle the score. You see I had planned for the ĎMcMahonísí choice match to break new ground in wrestling and give the fans a match that really, no one ever thought would happen. I wanted it to be, in one corner, THE CEO of the WWE, Vince McMahon, and in the other corner, his ultimate foe, the General Manager of Smackdown, BRET ĎHITMANí HART!! !! Ē
(Crowd gives the biggest pop of the night)
ďHowever. Just two nights ago, I looked over all the current contracts in the WWE, and when I skimmed over the contract of Bret Hart, It clearly stipulated that Bret Hart would NOT be wrestling at any time during his contract period . Ē
(Huge Booís from the crowd)
ďHey donít look at me as the enemy in all of this. There is one man to blame, and you can only see him on Smackdown. He negotiated his contract, not me.
Therefore, as a result, I have decided that the ĎMcMahonísí choice match will be contested between RAWís Nature Boy, Ric Flair, and SMACKDOWNS William Regal, in a Submission Match .Ē
(Crowd gives a mixed reaction, clearly showing that they would rather see Vince face Bret)
ďAgain, Iím not to blame, Bret is. Ask him this week on Smackdown why he wont wrestle. He claims to have an injury that has ended his career, but do YOU believe that. If you people want this match, ask BRET !Ē
Vince smiles and then drops the microphone. He walks up the ramp still smiling.
We return with J.R and King reviewing what Vince just said, they then talk about tonightís main event between Michaels and Kane in a Cage Match, as well as Bretís conversation on the phone with a RAW superstar who would be jumping to Smackdown tonight, plus, J.Rís homecoming ceremony.
Backstage, Randy Orton catches up with Vince. He begs McMahon for a match with Foley. He says he will face him anytime, anyplace, anywhere. McMahon tells Orton that it seems that both General Managers are scared to fight, but as much as he would like to make the match, he doesnít have the power to make matches between RAW talent.
3rd Match: World Tag Team Championships Match:
Edge & Christian vs. Dudley Boys
Finish: This is a very back and forth match, with both teams going at each other for the whole, with neither gaining an advantage. Toward the end, the Dudleyz get the upper hand, and have the champions in a lot of trouble, Edge hitís a Spear on Bubba to get him and Christian back in control of the match. Dí Von turns the tide back in favour of his team with a neck breaker on Edge. Bubba makes the tag and Dí Von clears house. He and Bubba set up Christian for the 3D, but out of nowhere, Test and Steiner rush to the ring.
Test boots Bubba, and Steiner hits Dí Von with a steel chair. The match ends in a DQ, and E&C leave as quickly as possible. The beating in the ring continues as Steiner sets up two tables, Test wears out both Dudleyz with the chair.
He and Steiner then hit a double Powerbomb on Bubba through the table, and then a 3D on Dí Von through the other table.
Test then looks under the ring and pulls out two blue shirts. He hands one to Steiner and puts the other on, the blue shirts have the Smackdown logo, and it is revealed that Test and Steiner have jumped ship.
Suddenly, a number of RAW stars run to the ring, but Test and Steiner hightail through the crowd.
We return with highlights of what just went down with Test & Steiner. The camera then cuts to the parking lot, where Test and Steiner jump into their car and speed off.
Interview with Trish Stratus. She talks about facing Torrie at COTC. She says it will be too easy to beat Torrie, so instead she will just mess with her for a while before finishing her off.
We see RVD preparing for his match, J.R and King make the point that his ribs are still taped after his match at SummerSlam.
Mick Foley is seen changing into a Tuxedo in preparation for the J.R homecoming ceremony. Terri then enters. She asks him his thoughts on what just happened between Test & Steiner. He tells her that they will pay for what happened, but right now, nothing will put him in a bad mood, as he is too busy getting ready for J.Rís homecoming.
4th Match: For a place in the 10 Man Tag Match at COTC:
Rob Van Dam vs. Batista
Finish: Batista controls the most of the match, following a quick start from RVD with a number of high flying moves. Eventually, Batista catches him, and hitís a rib breaker. RVD crawls around in agony. Batista then hits another rib breaker, before kicking at his ribs. He then applies a bear hug. RVD fights out, and hitís a spinning heel kick. He bounces off the ropes, but runs straight into a spinebuster, 1...2...RVD just kicks out!!
Batista, then goes for a Powerbomb, but RVD fights out. He bounces off the ropes, but walks right into a bear hug. After a while, the referee raises his arm twice and both times it falls, the third time though, it stays up. He fights out, and ducks a clothesline, followed by a DDT. He hitís the rolling thunder, and then the Five Star, 1...2...KICK OUT!! Batista kicks out, and goes punch for punch with RVD. He hitís a knee to the stomach, and goes for the Powerbomb again. RVD rolls through and rolls up Batista, 1..2..3!! RVD WINS!! RVD quickly leaves as Batista goes mad in the ring.
We return with Mick Foley in the ring. The ring is set up with the Red Carpet and a huge Sooners motif, with a picture of J.R with his family.
Foley makes a speech about J.R being a true gentleman in the business, and then asks him to come to the ring. J.R makes his way to the ring to a huge response.
The two men shake hands in the ring and then Foley talks about J.Rís career in the wrestling business. He talks about J.Rís love for his home state, the WWE and his family. J.R thanks Foley, and the entire crowd for being the best fans in the world. He then talks about his great family.
Then out of nowhere, Randy Orton runs in through the crowd. Neither Foley or Ross realise this as they have their backs turned. Orton hits Foley in the back with a steel chair, and then hits him square in the skull.
J.R tells him to stop, but Orton laughs at him and hitís the RKO. He smiles and poses in the ring, before spitting in the face of Foley. He walks up the aisle with a huge grin as he leaves.
We return with an interview with Randy Orton. Orton in his usual cocky manner says that he will not stop the violence, until he gets his match with Foley.
Kane prepares for his match up next.
We then see J.R being placed on a stretcher and Foley being helped to the back. Coach then walks out and joins King to sit in for J.R. He makes fun of what just happened to J.R. King tells him to shut up before he gets beat up too.

He punches Kane into the corner again, and then gets onto the second rope, hitting the 10 punches. Kane staggers out, but ducks a clothesline from Michaels before hitting a Chokeslam. He grabs HBK by the hair and taunts him. He then rams HBKís head into the cage a number of times, and eventually, Michaels begins to bleed profusely.
Kane hitís a sidewalk slam, and then sits beside the motionless body of HBK. He tells him that this is only just getting started. He goes to the top rope and hitís a flying clothesline on the groggy Michaels. Kane then signals for the door to open. He walks toward it, but just as he is ready to leave, he changes his mind and gets back in.
He picks up HBK and puts him on his shoulders for a running power slam, but HBK pushes himself off. Kane turns around and runs straight into Sweet Chin Music. Both men go down. With no referee, there is no ten count to be made, and both men stay down for nearly a whole minute. HBK is the first to stir, but Kane then sits up, he gets up while HBK staggers to his feet. HBK is motionless on the ground, and Kane struggles to make his feet. When he does, he asks for the door to be opened and he slowly walks out, but just as he is ready to hit the floor, HBK grabs his foot. There is little strength left from HBK, but his sheer determination makes Kane angry, and he decides to finish HBK. He ties up HBK on the ropes and runs toward him to hit a knee, but HBK moves just in time, and Kane runs into the cage. HBK gets up and rams Kane into the cage, busting the monster wide open.
