I still don't feel sorry for the kid. His dad was simply trying to call his bluff as he had done it before in the past, I think his father also told him that dinner was at six. I don't think it was his dad being angry as much as it was him thinking his son was lying. That is why I feel sorry for the dad and have no sympathy towards the kid.
