Re: Paul Heyman's World Alliance of Professional Wrestling!

WAPW Hazard preview - 11th February 2009

New York City hosts Hazard this week as WAPW crashes into the Blue Cross Arena! With just twelve days away from the inaugural pay-per-view event, you can be sure that everybody on the roster will give their all to get a spot on the card!

Last week on Hazard the fans were somewhat shocked to witness the 6 foot 6 monster Abyss beaten by the unfavoured Brent Albright. Abyss' father James Mitchell was also shocked at Abyss' performance, underlining his 'shock' at this 'fluke'. Albright is said to be wanting another chance in the ring with Abyss to prove that his win was no fluke. Will James Mitchell return in one last bid to retain Abyss' services?

The first semi-final matchup in the race for the WAPW North-American title will be contested this week, with Rey Mysterio Jr. challenging 'Sugar Daddy' Lance. Who will progress to the final, thus booking a match for the vacant title at Battle Lines? Next week, Elijah Burke will step into the ring with Mistico to determine the other half of the PPV title bout.

Gen-Ex have made it clear that they are not here in WAPW to make friends. Team 3D know all too well of the disrespect the talented rookies have displayed and this week are set for a rematch with Aries and Strong. Though somewhat apprehensive in getting back into the ring with the most decorated team in wrestling history, Gen Ex are convinced that they are 'too good' to give the veterans a rematch. Will Team 3D shut them up momentarily, or will Gen Ex continue their good run as a unit.

Speaking of Gen Ex, this week Jack Evans gets what he 'wanted' - a match with Paul London with the winner facing Teddy Hart at Battle Lines. Last week Evans made it clear that we deserved a one on one match with the champion, but he has to go through London first. Teddy Hart will surely have a close eye on this bout and will be scouting his potential opponents.

One of the blockbusters from last weeks show was the revelation that Bret Hart would be the special guest referee for the main-event at Battle Lines. Though not in the arena last week, will he make an appearance this week? WAPW have appointed Scott Hudson as the man in-charge of keeping an eye out for the legend, who will surely be watching the huge main-event.

... the huge main-event! This weeks show is topped off by a match capable of headlining any WAPW show. Christian Cage versus MVP in singles competition! Last week, Gen Ex were heavily involved in the tag-team main-event, costing Christian and Goldberg a much sought-after win. This week though Gen Ex shall have no effect on MVP's fortunes as the ring will be surrounded by inpartial lumberjacks - including MVP's partner from last week Mr. Kennedy! Christian will be happy with the level playing field, and will be determined to prove a point to MVP, and WAPW hancho Paul Heyman.
