Re: Being The Booker

... The Road Begins ...

Raw Preview; January 15th; Toronto:

Just twenty four hours after an historic Royal Rumble, Raw rolls into Canada, and the Canadian faithful will be sure to give the 2007 Royal Rumble winner, Christian, a heroes welcome.

Despite the obstacles in his way; entering with a bounty on his head, courtesy of Mr. McMahon, offering the man that could eliminate Captain Charisma a title shot at WrestleMania, regardless of victory in the Rumble. Not only did he have that target on his chest, but Christian also suffered a vicious beating at the hands of Umaga, after he eliminated the Samoan Bulldozer. Umaga, in his rage after elimination, dragged Christian out of the ring, and caused chaos, busting Christian wide open.

Despite the obstacles, Christian would outlast Brock Lesnar and now advances to the main event of WrestleMania to face either World Champion Triple H, or WWE Champion, Rob Van Dam.

The runner up, Brock Lesnar, entered #1. The Iron Man lived up to his moniker, and created a Royal Rumble record for time in the match, lasting OVER seventy minutes. How will Lesnar react to this gut wrenching loss, having come so close to victory??

Another man reeling from defeat at last nights Royal Rumble is John Cena. After two years of participating in a World Championship match at WrestleMania, Cena will now have to contend with the fact he wont make it three in a row at WrestleMania 23. Given the circumstances of his loss at the Royal Rumble to Triple H though, how can Cena come to terms with missing out on his dreams ... and where does the Doctor of Thuganomics go from here??

The same can also be said for Randy Orton, who had aimed to rectify his record of three defeats in three consecutive WrestleMania championship matches by winning the Royal Rumble. Despite an excellent showing, Orton also finds himself on the outside, with no glimmer of hope to put his shocking WrestleMania record to rest this year.

Elsewhere, Shawn Michaels is another man with plenty of reason to feel aggrieved, following last nights shocking appearance from Mick Foley, who contributed to the elimination of The Showstopper. That marks the second time that Foley has cost Michaels in big matches in just three months. What is Foley's issue, and will we find the answer to that this Monday??

And with all the fallout from the Royal Rumble, the now FORMER Intercontinental Champion, Shelton Benjamin will invoke his rematch clause, just twenty four hours after losing the title to the new, and now two time, Intercontinental Champion, Rey Mysterio.

Also, the World Tag Team Championships will be on the line, as Straight Edge finally get their long awaited shot at MNM ... but must share the opportunity with two other teams. Booker T & Elijah Burke and the duo of Rodney Mack & Orlando Jordan representing The Brotherhood will round out the sudden death match. Will the seven month reign of Nitro & Mercury come to an end tonight??

Confirmed Matches;
Rey Mysterio vs Shelton Benjamin (Intercontinental Championship)
MNM vs Straight Edge vs Booker T & Elijah Burke vs The Brotherhood (World Tag Team Championships)
Shawn Michaels, Carlito & DH Smith vs The New Wave {Garrison Cade, Nick Dinsmore & Ken Doane}

Raw should be up later this week.
