Default Re: WWE - Current BTB

Raw opens as usual, with the opening theme and fireworks. Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler greet the audience, and are interrupted by Orton’s theme. He walks up the ramp, accompanied by Cody Rhodes and Manu.

Orton: I will admit that last night didn’t go as well as I had planned. Batista managed to wriggle out of my web, and with luck on his side, he managed to pin me. Only after Cody and Manu were unfairly ejected from ringside. I got distracted, and when I get distracted, people get lucky. That… is in the past. Now we must look towards the future, and what the future holds. For the Legacy, it holds unfathomable levels of success. As multi-generational superstars, we are the only ones who can carry the WWE to new heights. We are wrestling royalty and sooner rather than later, we will rule Raw. And tonight, the Legacy’s dynasty will commence. Tonight, tomorrow on ECW, and Friday night on Smackdown, the Legacy will face off against each show’s stars, and each time we will emerge victorious. Anyone who foolishly attempts to stand in our way will be punished.

‘Voices’ plays and Orton leads the Legacy off the stage.

Match 1:

Marella’s theme plays and he enters the ring accompanied by Beth Phoenix. He takes the mic and talks about how it is a travesty that he wasn’t even given a match in the Tournament which saw Punk emerge as #1 contender. He is interrupted by Punk’s theme, who runs in to loud cheers. Both wrestlers square up and Punk dominates from the get-go. Marella gets in a few cheap shots and ultimately attempts to leave. Regal, who had been sitting at the top of ramp for the entire match, gets up, and Marella decides to return to the ring. Punk attempts to GTS Santino, but Beth pulls Santino down. The ref reprimands Beth, as Santino tries to capitalize. Punk reverses and gets him into an Anaconda Vise Grip, causing Santino to tap out immediately.

Winner: CM Punk

Cut-scene: Jericho walks into Stephanie McMahon’s office. He demands to know why he isn’t being given another go at Cena’s title. Steph explain s that it’s time for others to have a chance, and if he truly deserves another match, he should win his match next week. If he wins, he’ll get a place at the Fatal 4-Way #1 Contender’s Match the week after.

Match 2:

JBL arrives in wrestling gear. He is annoyingly satisfied. Shawn Michaels’ theme plays and he enters the ring, the two eye each other and finally shake hands (and are jeered by the crowed), although HBK does so quite reluctantly. Cryme Tyme enter the ring. The match starts and JBL starts against JTG. JBL dominates against JTG, but when JTG tags Shad in, they start gathering momentum by hitting one double-team move after the other. JBL finally tags HBK in, who grounds Shad, but seems unwilling to inflict any real pain. He tags JBL in who has no problem with beating Shad down. Shad tags JTG in and it seems like they might get a win but JBL hits a double clothesline-from-hell, and finally pins JTG.

Winners: JBL & HBK. JBL raises his partner’s hand who does not seem pleased with the win.

Match 3:

Mark Henry enters the ring accompanied by Tony Atlas. Batista is already in the ring. Henry stars out on top, but Batista gets the upper hand after a spear. Atlas attempts to interfere but Batista whips him out of the ring with ease. The distraction gives Henry an advantage, and he locks Batista in a bear hug. Batista breaks the hold and starts beating on Henry by the turnbuckle. Henry irish-whips Batista away following a reversal but Batista uses the momentum to deliver a devastating spinebuster. Atlas comes back into the ring in an attempt to distract Batista again, but finds himself on the bad end of a Batista Bomb. Batista then covers Henry for pin.

Winner: Batista

Match 4:

John Cena’s theme plays and he enters the ring, energized as always. He waits in the ring when his theme plays again. Stunned, he looks on as Charlie Haas enters, impersonating him. Amused, Cena shakes his hand before the match starts. Cena dominates in the beginning, but is hit with a few surprising trademark Cena moves. Haas attempts the 5-knucle shuffle, but Cena escapes and hits him with a flame asser. He then delivers his own 5-knuckle shuffle followed by an FU for a quick win.

Winner: John Cena. Cena helps Haas up before cut to the Legacy backstage. Orton is encouraging Cody.

Match 5:

Rey Mysterio enters the ring, but the tremendous cheers quickly turns to boos when Cody Rhodes, followed by Manu and Orton, comes on. The match starts and Cody tries to stop Mysterio from moving around too much. Cody’s allies watch from ringside, and frequently shout words of encouragement/advice. Mysterio escapes Rhodes’ submission hold and goes to the air, hitting him with several diving/springboard attacks. As he attempts another, Manu hits the ropes, causing them to wobble, and making Rey mess up his move. Cody gains the upper hand and is about to hit his finisher when Rey reverses and hits him with a hurricanara. He trips Rhodes, who falls with his head on the ropes but Manu trips him before he can hit Rhodes. The ref goes to yell at Manu, and Orton takes advantage by hitting Rey with his trademark backbreaker. Rhodes capitalizes by hitting his DDT and pins Rey.

Winner: Cody Rhodes. Orton considers punting Rey as they celebrate, but seems to feel Rey is not worth it. However, he tells Manu to pick him up, who does, placing him in the fireman carry position. Manu then throws Rey behind him, and Orton RKO’s him.

Tune in tomorrow for ECW!
