Default ECW 7/15

The show opened with Mark Henry and Tony Atlas talking about how great Mark Henry is and how he can bend a frying pan with his bare hands. Dreamer comes out and pretends to try and bend the pan but winds up nailing Henry in between the eyes with the pan. I don't know about you guys but I think it'd be great if Dreamer gets a championship run just one more time. The match is set for this Sunday but I'm thinking Henry will retain. I'm not sure what they're trying to do with Teddy Long throwing Dreamer out of the building either.

Shannon Moore vs. Mike Knox was was a decent match. It wasn't a total squash with Moore actually getting a near fall in the middle of the match. Knox takes the win at the end though. Moore is a guy that I think the WWE is under utilizing. The guy has a lot of moves that he has never had the chance to showcase in the WWE yet.

I gotta tell you, the only reason I started watching ECW again is because of Matt Sydal. The kid is incredible. I have been following this guy for a long time and since he's on ECW now I get to see him in action almost every week. I'm excited he gets to show off his talents to a wider audience through the WWE but at the same time I'm thinking: with his size the farthest he'll make it is an Intercontinental title or the US title at best with a couple of tag titles along the way. As always he had a solid match again this week with a win over Chavo Guerrero. Which leads me to my question: Is it too early for WWE to have him get a clean win over the former ECW Champion? He's had solid matches against the midcarders of ECW and I'm thinking they definitely could have let him have a few more. It kind of puzzled me as to why they haven't booked him against Shannon Moore. That would have been a match that could have given both men a chance to showcase all of their talents. I can even see a match with Stevie Richards or even a rematch with Shelton Benjamin whom I think has been greatly under utilized. All I can say is, with the WWE, there's a method to their madness and we'll have to wait and see how they handle Sydal. Win, lose, or draw, the kid always puts on a great performance. Hopefully he'll bring some of his other moves in from Dragon Gate, Ring of Honor, etc. as we have only seen a fraction of what he is capable of.

The Main Event saw the Hardy's Vs. Morrison and the Miz. Solid match throughout. There was a lot of back and forth going on and a lot of near pinfalls. The ending came with Jeff's Swanton Bomb onto Morrison for the win. I always knew the Hardy's and Morrison had talent. Everytime these 3 are together in the ring together they put on a good show. As for the Miz, I have to be honest, when he first started coming out I thought he was a joke but this guy seems to be getting better and better every week. He's definitely changed my opinion about him over the past 9 months or so. I really don't want to see Morrison lose the tag titles to Finlay and Horswaggle as at that point the tag titles would be nothing more than a joke.

With an hour time slot ECW needs to put in more matches. Altogether, out of the hour we got about half an hour of the slot devoted to matches with the majority of the time going to the Hardy/ Miz and Morrison match while the Moore/Knox and Bourne/Chavo matches only got about 2 and 3 minutes respectively. The rest went to the Dreamer/Henry segment which, in my opinion, took too long, and some other backstage tidbits.
