I can honestly say I don't remember this vividly. All i remembered was Sojo getting the game winning hit. I didn't think the Mets would win, nobody did except Benny Agbiyani, plus as a heavily underrated underdog team getting to the world series isn' bad at all. As for the Yankees having 24 more world series rings, I would expect them to as they've been around for 60 years longer. The Red Sox, probably my second favorite team, where just terrible during the time of the curse. So congratulations for your 26 wins, but in 2008 (though an impressive accomplishment) none of that means anything. Thats the past, get over it and play for now. And about the 7 game lead with 17 left being worse than losing the 04 Alcs...thats just dumb. When the Mets lose a big playoff series while up 3-0, then you come talk to me.

But it's ok to claim the Celtics in Basketball as the best ever, Montreal in Hockey, and either Pittsburgh or Dallas in Football as the best but not the Yankees? 26 World Titles.
NO ONE HAS MORE. It's a shame that no one seems to grasp that fact. I hear all this shit about the Celtics and yes they are the best in Basketball History, but only 17 world Titles. I hear people talk about Montreal. 24 world Titles. Pittsburgh and Dallas has 5 Super Bowl Rings and you can dispute either team as being the best.
The Yankees have 26 world Champions.
TWENTY-SIX. Last I checked, 26 is more then 24, 17, 16, and 5.
Did the Yankees Collapse in 2004? Yes. Do I remember that fact? No. Cause I shut out bullshit that I don't like

It's as plain and simple as that. New York state of mind. Your team does well, brag till your blue in the face. Your Team sucks, you play it off like the sport means shit. New York State of mind. Sports are meant to pleasure then cause pain and 4 world Titles, 12 Division Titles in my lifetime, I seen more pleasure then pain in Baseball. How many of you can say that?
