Default Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Against All Odds 2008 was definately a step up from 2007's AGA. God that show was awful. Easily one of the worst in TNA history, but 2008 came back nicely with a very well put together card.

- AJ/Tomko vs. BG/Bullet was way better than I expected, and I really liked the finish. All things considered it was surprisingly decent

- Traci vs. Peyton I thought was a nice grudge match with some good build. They kept it short and just let the girls brawl, which was cool. I wish they'd let Traci wrestle more as she's pretty fun to watch (for more reasons than one obviously)

- Petey vs. Steiner - I loved this match. I know some people will think I'm overrating it, but it was honestly one of my favorite matches on the show, probably second only to the main event. I love watching Steiner work with X Division guys. He does really well with them.

- EY vs. Storm - These two tend to have good matches whenever they lock up. I really enjoyed this feud. It was purely for comedy, which I was fine with, and like I said, the match was good. Their match from Turning Point was slightly better though.

- Kong vs. ODB - I really enjoyed this match too. People seemed to immediately compare it to Gail/Kong and kind of wrote this one off as disappointing because it didn't live up to that, but I thought it was a good show of power as they made ODB look like a reasonable match for Kong in terms of her strength.

- Barbedwire Massacre II - It's a shame they weren't allowed to have this match at the arena live. The fact that it was taped at Orlando kind of brought it down a bit, but it was still really good. Not as good as the 1st, but definately Judas' best showing in TNA.

- Booker vs. Roode - They never really allowed these guys to have a show stealing match, which kind of surprises me because I think they could have if they were given the chance. This match was good though, and I thought the ending was perfect because it meant Booker was going to have to get Roode in a situation where he can't escape if he wanted to get his revenge. (Strap match at DX, Cage at Lockdown)

-Lethal/Guns vs. Team 3D - This was a really fun match with some cool hardcore spots and a great showing from Lethal, who really looked like a major hero by the end of it. The only thing missing was one really big spot where it seemed like the X Division was truly dead. They should have done something where Lethal kicked out of the 3D or something big like that. But still very entertaining overall.

Angle vs. Christian - Loved it. Fantastic main event, probably TNA's best PPV main event of the year so far (althought I think Booker/Joe has the potential to top it) The Tomko turn was well done too.

Basically, this show had nothing overly fantastic except the main event, but there was nothing too bad, and the things I thought would be bad turned out ok.

Match Rankings:
1) Angle vs. Christian
2) Petey vs. Steiner
3) Abyss vs. Judas
4) Lethal/Guns vs. Team 3D
5) Kong vs. ODB
6) Booker vs. Roode
7) EY vs. Storm
8) Traci vs. Peyton
9) AJ/Tomko vs. BG/Bullet
