Re: WWE: Making It Good Again
WWE RAW-6/19/08
We kick off RAW with a video recap of Judgment Day. A lot of highlights are show, mainly from the steel cage match. We also see a lot from Y2J vs. HBK and Cena vs. JBL. After the video To Be Loved plays and the opening video is shown. After that ends we cut across the arena to all the screaming RAW fans holding signs up high. JR and King talk a little about the night in store. Jerry announces GM and King of the ring William Regal will kick off RAW. Sure enough……
I am the King hits and William Regal comes down the ramp to tremendous heat from the crowd. He has a mic and a throne set up in the ring. Two guards on each side. Regal gets into the ring and takes a seat in the throne and begins to speak…
Regal: One month ago in front of the whole world, I pinned that ECW rubbish, CM Punk, to win the established title of the king of the ring.
Heat
Regal: And just three weeks ago, as a gift for the RAW fans, we were all supposed to have a correlation ceremony. Every past king has had their ceremony…and all the past kings rose to the top…people like Edge-
Heat
Regal: the WWE champion Triple H-
Nice pop
Regal: even the Texas rattlesnake Stone Cold Steve Austin-
Loudest pop so far.
Regal: All of them went on to be a world champion. However…nobody in this business has ever been a world champion at the same time as being a general manager. I will certainly be the first.
Heat
Regal: But that’s later on in the year. As I was saying, every past king has a ceremony where the people bow down and accept their new leader. And during my attempt of to give you all this ceremony…a man named Mr. Kennedy decided to break it up.
Pop
Regal: But after last night’s Judgment day pay per view, I decided that you fans in Philadelphia are slightly just worthy enough to watch my second try for this ceremony.
Mixed Reaction
Regal: All of you who boo me show disrespect to your new king! You are all going to show me respect as I sit on my throne and get officially named as the king of the WWE. And Mr. Kennedy, if you even try to come out here tonight you will be fired.
Heat
Regal grabs a robe from around the chair and puts it on. He grabs the staff and smiles. He lifts up the crown and holds it high in the air. The crowd boo as loud as ever as he is about to sit down……..-
The horns play over the arena and most of the crowd let off a big pop as the time is now hits. John Cena, fresh off a big win at Judgment Day. He has a mic in his hand and a smile on his face. Regal, on the other hand, looks angry as ever still holding his crown. Cena gets into the ring and gets face to face.
Cena: That was a nice reception I got out there, but I’m not surprised…after all we are in Philadelphia!
Cheap pop
Cena: You could argue that this-the home of ECW-is the official city of wrestling!
Another cheap pop
Cena: That’s right, I love the fans here, I love the fans all around the world…and that’s why I’m out here tonight. Because these people deserve better than to have to listen to you talk about how you cheated your way to the top. Regal, the truth is nobody cares about you being the king. I mean, come on…you chose to face Hornswoggle in the first round. He’s not even a wrestler. Nobody around the world actually cares about your ceremony.
Pop
Cena: You complain that the people here don’t respect you…well that’s because nobody likes you. Did you honestly think that you were going to gain rain respect by pulling the plug on every big match? I hate to tell you Willy, but that just isn’t how it works.
Regal: First of all my name is not Willy! It is KING William Regal. And who are you to come out here and interrupt this? If I was a king in England, you would have been killed by now. Unfortunately we’re not in Britain, we are in Britain’s cesspool.
Heat
Regal: As for turning out the lights on all the matches…until these fans respect me and cheer me, their will not see a WWE championship match on RAW.
Cena: Sounds like you’re just a little angry because YOU never got a championship match on RAW…actually I can’t remember your last championship match…does anyone?
Crowd laugh and little and say no making Regal angry
Regal: John…you would think that in six years with the company you would learn that the general manager has all the power. And John you’ve began to anger me to the point where I just don’t want you on RAW anymore.
Cena: Well Regal, try all you want, but leaving until I retire or until I lose my way out.
Regal: Losing your way out is going to come much sooner then you think. In fact…it will happen tonight. John Cena vs.…….Umanga! Loser….leaves….RAW.
I am the king plays as Regal leaves the ring smiling. Cena nods his head but looks a little nervous as RAW goes to a commercial…….
Commercial Break……..
Cool hits and Carlito and Santino come down the ramp to heat from the crowd. Lillian announces that this match is a singles match, Carlito as the competitor.
How do you like me now hits and Cody Rhodes comes down the ramp accompanied by Holly. Both men have their belts on their shoulders.
This match was pretty boring as it had Cody Rhodes in it. It’s only gone about six minutes and we come up on the end. Cody has Carlito in an armbar but Carlito rolls forward to reverse it. Carlito hits a big clothesline. Carlito covers quickly but Cody kicks out easily. Carlito lifts up Cody and runs off the ropes. He comes back to Cody, but Cody grabs him and hits a hip toss. Immediately after he gets up he holds his right arm. Carlito gets up to his feet and dropkicks Cody down. Cody goes down but gets up quick. Carlito runs to the ropes and springboards off the middle rope. He hits a springboard back elbow on Rhodes. Carlito covers again…but Cody kicks out once more! Cody and Carlito get up to their feet at roughly the same time. Cody kicks Carlito in the gut and has him in position for the DDT. Carlito reverses into a jackknife cover and gets the win!
Winner: Carlito
Carlito rolls out of the ring and Santino holds his arm as they laugh walking up the ramp. Cody still holds his right arm in the right and Holly hands him the belt.
We cut backstage to see Todd Grisham…
Todd: Ladies and gentlemen, John Bradshaw Layfield is joining me now...
Loud heat
Todd: JBL, last night you tapped out to John Cena for the second time in two months. How do you-
JBL: Shut up Todd! I don’t give a damn what your question is, I don’t even know why I agreed to be interviewed by you. But since I did agree, this is MY TIME! Not yours. So let me start off by saying John Cena got lucky last night. And as much as I would love a rematch, just for another chance to destroy him…it won’t happen. Because after today the B show superstar finally returns to the B show. That stops the biggest poser in WWE history from hogging up the main event scene.
Heat
JBL: Tonight I have a match…teaming with Randy Orton-a man who failed to get the job done numerous times…and we take on Mr. Kennedy and the WWE champion Triple H. I’m sure that Kennedy and Orton think they deserve a title shot, but the truth is they’re just wrong. Randy Orton has faced Triple H many times…too bad he’s only beaten him one time. As for Mr. Kennedy…I can’t remember the last time you won at a pay per view. As a matter of fact, you weren’t even on the card for Judgment Day.
More heat
JBL: And finally I shift my attention to Triple H. I’ve hated him ever since he approached me and put his hands on my thousand-dollar suit at Wrestlemania 21. As fate would have it, neither of us were on the same brand until now. We’ve never had a match together but soon…and I mean very soon…I’m going to make myself the number one contender and take that WWE championship off from around your waist. My mission…my road to that title…it starts tonight.
JBL walks off the screen and the camera shifts to a black mustang pulling up outside the arena. It parks in the parking lot and the door opens….out steps the animal, Batista! The crowd goes wild as Batista makes his way into the arena…and I think everyone knows who he is after.
Commercial Break
When we return we see clips of the Michaels vs. Jericho match from Judgment Day. We see Michaels superkicking Jericho with his fake injured knee. After the video JR announces that it is time for Jericho to take on Michaels in the rematch.
Sexy Boy hits and the crowd goes crazy for the showstopper. Michaels comes down the ramp after doing his usual pyro. He stomps his foot to show his knee if fine.
5…4…3…2…1….Break the Walls Down. Jericho comes down the ramp to an equally loud pop. He looks angry and ready to revenge on HBK. Jericho gets into the ring and the match starts.
Michaels and Jericho have been going for about 10 minutes. It’s been pretty entertaining so far. Not as good as the match at Judgment but there are a few near falls, and back and forth action. Jericho in control for right now. He whips Shawn off the ropes. Shawn comes back at him and Jericho goes for a clothesline. HBK ducks and goes bouncing off the ropes. He comes back at Jericho. Jericho grabs him and hits a quick hip toss. Michaels hits the mat with a loud thud but he gets back up quick. Jericho walks toward him and Shawn slightly lifts him up. He hits an atomic drop. Jericho staggers forward and turns back to Shawn. Shawn goes for a quick sweet chin music, but Jericho ducks just in time. The crowd oooh’s as Jericho and Michaels stare down for about five seconds. Jericho and Michaels lock up again just like in the beginning. Michaels gets the best of Jericho and tosses him into the turnbuckle. Michaels hits a few knifedge chops. Jericho fights back with some rights. Michaels then pulls his leg back and kicks Jericho right in between the legs! Jericho goes down and rolls over towards the center of the ring. Michaels takes this as his opportunity to tune up the band. Michaels stomps his foot and the crowd counts along…
I Walk Alone hits and Michaels stops dead in his tracks. Batista comes bolting down the ramp and slides into the ring. Michaels chooses not to run away, but instead runs toward Batista. Both men exchange rights and lefts. Batista overpowers Michaels and hits him with a huge right taking him down. Batista walks over to the ropes and begins to shake them, but when he turns around Michaels is rolling under the bottom rope. Batista’s music plays him off as Michaels crawls up the ramp, not turning back to look at one pissed off animal.
Winner by DQ: Shawn Michaels
We cut backstage to Maria ready to conduct another interview.
Maria: Ladies and gentlemen I am here now with the WWE champion, Triple H!
Pop
Maria: Triple H, tonight you team with Mr. Kennedy to take on your old rival Randy Orton and JBL.
Triple H: That’s right Maria. See Randy couldn’t beat me last night…or at Backlash…so now he’s teaming with JBL because he thinks he has a chance. The truth is I could beat both of them in a handicap match if I want too, but having Mr. Kennedy…Kennedy on my side doesn’t hurt.
Pop
Triple H: But Maria enough about Orton. Before…did JBL say he was coming for my WWE championship.
Maria nods her head.
Triple H: Ha…that’s just funny to me. JBL…you can come for my title…the result will just be me pedigreeing you to the mat and getting the pin. There’s a reason I never faced you before…that reason is because you were always to scared to step in the ring with me. So JBL, I can’t wait…I’m actually hoping you become the number one contender, just so I can beat the holy hell out of you.
Crowd pop as we cut to Chris Jericho limping up a hallway with the intercontinental strap on his shoulder…Jeff Hardy approaches him.
Jeff: Chris…just the man I wanted to see. Good job out there.
Chris: uh…thanks.
Jeff: Alright man, you know I didn’t come out here to tell you that you had good match. I came back last week after a two-month suspension. The week before I lost a match…
Chris: To me…for this belt. I figured you would want it back. But Jeff, I’m sorry because you’re not getting back. I won this in a hard fought match. I’m an eight-time champion, I have the record…you could arguably call me the greatest Intercontinental champion of all time. I already beat you once, what makes you think I can’t do it again.
Jeff: I know I can beat you. Over those two months I did nothing but train and work hard just so I can wrestle you one on one for a chance.
Before Jericho can speak William Regal walks up behind them to huge heat.
Regal: Yes Jeff, we all figured you would do this. You want a title match…well you are going to have to wait because it won’t be happening next week on RAW. I’ve already got a match involving the two of you. Next week Shawn Michaels and Batista will team up against…Jeff Hardy and Chris Jericho.
Regal smiles as the crowd pops. Jericho and Jeff stare down a little.
Commercial Break
Obsession hits and the women’s champion Mickie James comes running and jumping down the ramp.
Phoenix Rising hits and the women who was pinned last night, Beth Phoenix, comes down the ramp. She gets into the ring for this non-title match.
This was a good women’s match. Seven minutes passed with Beth controlling most of it. She lifts Mickie up and hits a scoop slam. Beth covers but Mickie pushes her off. Both women get up to their feet. Mickie throws some of her famous right hands to the face of Beth. Beth grabs her around the neck with both hands. Mickie looks worried but kicks her in the gut, and Beth lets go. Mickie whips Beth off the ropes. Beth comes back at Mickie and Mickie runs to her. Mickie hits a diving crossbody and rolls into a cover….but Beth kicks out. Mickie looks frustrated as she gets back to her feet. Beth rises up soon after. Mickie runs to Beth, but Beth lifts her up and slings Mickie over her shoulder in position for the delayed fisherman’s suplex. Mickie wiggles her way out of it and drops to her feet. Beth turns to her and Mickie hits the Mick kick! She covers Beth and gets the win.
Winner: Mickie James
Mickie rises to her feet and looks incredibly happy. She gets her arm raised and the title handed to her.
We cut to a Judgment day highlight video of Edge vs. Undertaker. After the match we see that on Friday, the two will face off for the title one last time. After the video we cut to Regal in his office standing next to Umaga
Regal: Yes Umanga…get angry. Remember what he did to you a year ago. He tried to kill you, he tried to choke you to death. Not to mention he is the man who ended your near one year long undefeated run here on RAW.
Umaga screams…
Regal: Yes, and speaking of RAW…I’m sure you love it here. Hardly anybody can beat you here…you won your first championship here on RAW…your first world title match came on RAW. Going to Smackdown! Would easily be the end of your career. I advise you destroy John Cena. Sure all you would have to do is beat him to get him out of my hair but nobody deserves to put up with him. I want you to save Vickie Guerrero the trouble and take Mr. Cena out of action again….re-tear is pectoral and end his short career.
We quickly cut to the ring. Before any commentary can commence, Turn up the Trouble hits and Mr. Kennedy comes walking down the ramp to a huge pop. He walks into the ring and does his pose to get his mic….
Kennedy: So last night I was sitting at home…watching Judgment Day, just like all of you. And I noticed something when the show ended. It was lacking. That’s right, it was missing something. And I sat there trying to figure out what it was…and then I realized. It was lacking Mr. Kennedy!........Kennedy.
The Game hits and everybody in the arena gets up on their feet, giving off the biggest pop of the night for the WWE champion, Triple H. he walks down the ramp slowly and with his title around his waist. He gets into the ring after spitting the water out and waits for the opponents.
Longhorn hits and JBL comes down the ramp to heat. He looks angry after losing to Cena just one night ago. He gets into the ring and points to the WWE championship.
Voices hits and Randy Orton comes down the ramp to a mixed reaction. He gets into the ring and tells JBL to go to the corner. The match begins.
This was a good match, 12 minutes passed. Kennedy and JBL in the ring now. Kennedy whips JBL off the ropes. JBL comes back at him and Kennedy grabs the back of his head. He slams the head across his knee. JBL staggers back and goes down. Kennedy covers but JBL kicks out. Kennedy walks over to HHH and tags him in. JBL begins to get up to his feet. HHH lifts him up the rest of the way. JBL springs into action and hammers away at HHH with some hard rights. Triple H fights back, and both men exchange rights and lefts. JBL grabs HHH’s arm, yanks him forward, and hits a clothesline. JBL drops an elbow and covers hoping to get the win….but its not enough. Triple H kicks out. JBL lifts HHH to his feet. He runs off the ropes and comes at Hunter. He goes for the clothesline from hell but HHH grabs him and hits a spinebuster! JBL rolls out of the ring holding his back and the ref counts him out, but Triple H doesn’t care. He yanks Orton by the head and slings him over the rope. Hunter hammers with some hard haymakers. JBL grabs a chair from outside the ring and enters behind HHH. Orton rakes his eyes. Kennedy breaks into the ring to save HHH from JBL, but Orton hits the RKO on Kennedy. Trips turns into a big chair shot ending the match…
Winners by dq: HHH and Mr. Kennedy
Orton gets to his feet and does his pose. He nods to JBL and raises their arms up high. Orton taunts a little and walks back to JBL. The second Orton turns to him, JBL slams his head with chair as well. JBL stands over all three men holding his chair up high…
Commercial Break
When we return we see a Smackdown rebound, followed by a Vengeance video package. It lasts a total of four minutes or so. We then cut to John Cena’s dressing room. We see him put on his hat and his RAW dog tags…maybe for the last time.
Virtual Voodoo hits and Umaga comes down the ramp to mainly heat from the crowd. He gets into the ring looking especially blood thirsty and ready to kick ass.
After a long pause the Time is Now hits and Cena comes down the ramp to a nice pop. Some people rooting against him, most would rather see him beat Umaga. He looks pumped as usual as he gets into the ring and the match starts.
This main event got a lot of time. About twenty minutes past with Umaga in control right now. He has Cena in the corner and is hammering away at him, giving him rights to the head. Umaga whips him across to the other corner of the ring. He runs at Cena and leaps up and hits a stinger splash. Cena staggers forward and falls down to the mat. Umaga drops and covers but Cena raises a shoulder at 2. Umaga looks frustrated and he gets to his feet. He grabs Cena by the head and drags him into the corner in a sitting position. Umaga screams out in Samoan and charges at Cena….but Cena moves at the last second! Cena gets to his feet and Umaga walks toward him. Cena runs at him and goes for a shoulder block. He hits it full force, but Umaga stays standing. Cena goes back off the ropes and goes for another one, but Umaga counters with a quick clothesline. Umaga grabs Cena by the head once more and lifts him up slowly….then out of nowhere, Cena lifts Umaga up on his shoulders! The crowd stands on their feet and Cena hits the FU. Cena slowly drops his arm of Umaga and the match is over….NO! Umaga kicks out just in time. The crowd cant believe, neither can Cena. But Cena knows what he has to do. He gets to his feet and motions for a second FU once Umaga gets up. All of a sudden Regal comes running down the ramp, with brass knucks on his right hand. Umaga begins to get to his feet and Regal slides under the bottom rope. Regal goes to smash Cena’s face in, but Cena ducks. Regal goes flying off the ropes and Cena lifts him up on his shoulders. He hits the FU and Regal drops the knucks. The ref goes to check on Regal and Cena picks up the weapon. Umaga fully up to his feet behind Cena. Cena turns and smashes Umaga in the head with the brass knuckles. He tosses them out of the ring and lifts Umaga up one more time. He hits another FU can covers. The ref turns to Cena and Umaga and makes the 3 count!!!
Winner: John Cena; Umaga must leave RAW
The crowd is going wild as Cena rises to his feet. Cena gets his arm raised and stares at both Umaga and Regal. He salutes to the crowd, happy to still be a part of RAW! Umaga on the other hand....Umaga is headed for Smackdown! Cena walks up the ramp as RAW goes off the air.
