Re: WWE | -TR™- Takes Charge
WWE FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN
FRIDAY 2ND MAY, 2008
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA
Friday Night SmackDown begins with a lengthy video recap of this past Sunday's Pay-Per-View, WWE Backlash, covering every match held at the event. The theme song for Backlash, "All Summer Long" by Kid Rock is blaring in the background.
"Rise Up"
The SmackDown Video Package plays, afterwards the camera pans the packed out Wachovia Center, as the pyrotechnics explode from the SmackDown HD Set. The camera switches to the ring, where the mat is adorned with a grey carpet.
"Metalingus"
Tons of heat as the Rated R Superstar Edge emerges from a smoke pyro, not looking very happy. Edge sockily strides down the aisle and enters the ring, glaring at the audience.
Edge: When you people spent your hard-earned money to buy your tickets for tonight's Friday Night SmackDown, you were of the belief that I would stand before you as your new World Heavyweight Champion. Well, your luck has run out, because I was robbed this past Sunday at Backlash by one inconsiderate, self-centered induvidual - The Undertaker.
Thunderous ovation at mention of The Undertaker, but Edge shakes his head.
Edge: Quite frankly, I find it impossible to believe that you look up to The Undertaker as something of an idol. That sorry excuse of a human being deprived you of your hard-earned cash, he deprived you of your faith in me, and he deprived you of witnessing the Rated-R Superstar as the World Heavyweight Champion!
Heat for Edge.
Edge: I would quite obviously prefer celebrating a World Heavyweight Championship victory in this very ring tonight on SmackDown, but instead, I have no other choice but to host my talk show, The Cutting Edge, with a WWE Superstar who I have evidently had problems co-operating with for the past three years, and defeated Montel Vontavious Porter this past Sunday at Backlash to become, for the first time in his career, the United States Champion. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Matt Hardy!
"Live For The Moment"
The audience are on their feet as Matt Hardy emerges on the HD Set, receiving a standing ovation. Matt Hardy raises his newly-won United States Championship high into the air, and strides down the rampway, high-fiving the fans.
Edge: Welcome to The Cutting Edge, Matt Hardy, please take a seat.
Matt Hardy doesn't move, and Edge is slightly unhappy.
Edge: Matt, putting our history aside, I-
Matt Hardy: Woah, hold that thought, Edge. When you have a history as turbulent as ours, you can't possibly put it aside. The pain that you have inflicted on me over these past three years has left me mentally scarred, and I won't ever forget it. You hurt me like nobody has ever done before, and every time I hear your name mentioned, Edge, all I contemplate is redemption. I know that you'll try to avoid me, but here we are, in this very ring, face to face. Edge, believe me, you do not want to be in this situation right now, because I am more than willing to inflict the same amount of pain and suffering on you as The Undertaker did this past Sunday at Backlash, and-
Edge: That just summarises exactly who you are, Matt Hardy. You're all talk, but it ends there. On the contrary, I think before I talk, because I know that I am more than capable of ruling Friday Night SmackDown for all eternity, so I can back up my actions.
Matt Hardy: You know what? That summarises who you are too, Edge. You guaranteed victory over The Undertaker at Backlash, and I have to admit, I did too. But the difference between you and I is - I got the job done.
Huge pop, and Edge breathes deeply.
Matt Hardy: If you wanna put your money where your mouth is, I'm your best shot. Quite honestly, I would be more than happy to come back to this ring later on tonight, and show the entire world just how much of a coward you really are.
Edge: You're on, Edge and Matt Hardy, one-on-one, tonight. Oh yeah, Matt, all I can say is - Have an ambulance ready waiting in the back.
Matt Hardy: I will - For you.
"Live For The Moment"
Matt Hardy drops his microphone, smirking at Edge. The United States Champion exits the ring, and heads up the rampway, as Edge looks on disgusted.

Edge: Why, if it isn't the man himself, Montel Vontavious Porter! What brings you here, M.V.P?
M.V.P: Look, man, this ain't the time for games, especially for you. I know Matt Hardy inside-out, I know precisely what Matt can do, and when he will do it. You need to bring your A-Game to your match with Matt Hardy, Edge, or else he'll catch you off guard.
Edge: M.V.P, if anybody knows Matt Hardy like the back of their hand, it's me. I've known Matt Hardy since the moment he arrived in World Wrestling Entertainment, which is an entire decade. You've hardly known Matt Hardy for two years, and you think you're the one who almost has an entire encylopedia on Matt? Well think again, M.V.P. In comparison to guys like the Rated-R Superstar, you've nothing but a newcomer, looking to make a name for himself in this business. You-
M.V.P: Wait, did I just hear you say that you consider me to be a newcomer in World Wrestling Entertainment? Incase you've forgotten, Mr. Rated-R Superstar, I was the longest-reigning United States Champion in SmackDown history, until I was robbed by Matt Hardy this past Sunday at Backlash.
Huge pop at mention of Matt Hardy.
M.V.P: You don't want my advice, that's fine by me, man - But you'll be regretting it when you're laid out in that ring later on tonight.
Edge: For your information, Montel Vontavious Porter, I don't need an advisor, I never have needed anybody's support throughout my career. That goes to show that you're still a newcomer, because you know absolutely nothing about the Rated-R Superstar.
Heat, as Edge walks off, and M.V.P rolls his eyes at the sight of the Ultimate Oppurtunist.

A video package enters the screen, featuring highlights of Shawn Michaels' and Batista's feud over the past month since Wrestlemania XXIV. The camera switches back to the Wachovia Center, and major heat is being directed at Batista.
Batista: I don't have any problem with you feeling that way, honestly, but I know what is right, and I've said it before and I'll say it again, I did the right thing. I expected you people to give me some respect and show me support after what I've been through at the hands of Shawn Michaels. Prior to Wrestlemania XXIV, I had no problem whatsoever with Shawn Michaels - But he crossed the line. Shawn Michaels didn't retire Ric Flair - Shawn Michaels' ego retired Ric Flair.
Massive heat for Batista, as Batista removes his shades and smirks.
Batista: Shawn, this past Monday night on Raw, what I did to you was just a diminutive sample of the frustration that has been building up inside me since Judgment Day, and I will keep persevering until I end your career, just like you ended Ric Flair's career. I will-

Batista: I said earlier that Shawn Michaels crossed the line with me, and this is exactly what I meant. This isn't the Shawn Michaels I've known since I came into the WWE, this is the Shawn Michaels who speaks before he thinks, and lets his massive ego take over his entire life. Shawn, when I beat you to a bloody pulp whenever I get my hands on you next, you can hold your hands high and say that you brought this whole issue upon yourself. You're not Shawn Michaels.
