RATED R SUPERSTAR DOES IT AGAIN!
It seems that Edge is able to ruin any kind of World Championship situation that he doesn’t find himself in. After being infuriated at not being involved in the World Heavyweight Championship match at Saturday Night’s Main Event back in December, he vented his anger by accidentally costing Batista the title after hitting him with a spear after Shawn Michaels was able to dodge the bullet. And last week in what was supposed to be Michaels’ Victory Celebration, the new champion made it clear he wasn’t happy in the way in which he won the title and even offered to forfeit the title back to Batista. However, The Animal made a brief appearance and told Michaels that he didn’t blame him, laying it all Edge’s shoulders. With The Rated R Superstar contacting William Regal earlier in the evening to say he had a family emergency and would be missing the show, he actually showed up and speared The Heartbreak Kid out of nowhere.
It appears that Edge’s quest to win back the World Championship he lost because of an injury last year is far from over. And with Michaels’ now seeming to be joining Batista in a case of revenge, maybe Edge should stay clear this Friday night. The question is, will he?
UMAGA LEAVES TAKER FOR DEAD
In what was a match we were all looking forward to ever since it was announced before Christmas, we saw it disintegrate in front of very eyes last week. For the first time ever on network television, we were set to witness a Last Ride Match when The Undertaker and Umaga were scheduled to meet head on last Friday night. However, it appears that The Samoan Bulldozer and his manager Armando Alejandro Estrada had different ideas as Umaga attacked the dead man backstage before their match. Not only did he leave The Undertaker out cold, Umaga placed his rival in the back of the hearse and then Estrada drove it to an empty graveyard where Umaga continued the brutal assault before leaving The Undertaker there.
With no update on the dead man’s condition, just what can we expect when The Samoan Bulldozer enters Salt Lake this week?
CHAVO’S BACK AND GUNNING FOR THE CHAMP
It was over a month ago when Kenny Dykstra was forced into defending his Cruiserweight Championship against Chavo Guerrero on Smackdown, and took the rules of the match too far. With William Regal making the match no disqualification rules, the Cruiserweight Champion pounced on Chavo before he could enter the ring fully and smashed him in the head with his title belt. He didn’t stop there and continued the assault, resulting in the defenceless challenger having his shoulders counted to the mat. However, last week Chavo returned and attacked the cocky young champion after a victory over Shannon Moore to return the favour.
It remains to be seen if Chavo is done, but it’s safe to say that Dykstra won’t be best pleased. Just how will he respond to the attack this Friday night?
WHAT’S GOING ON? HELL ON EARTH!
Last week we saw a very cryptic message with the words “There will be Hell on Earth” around what looked to be flames and music that seemed to remind us of Kane back when he originally joined the WWE. Is this right? Can we expect to see Kane this week, or another cryptic message? Only time will tell!
RUMBLE QUALIFYING CONTINUES
Last Friday, the WWE Tag Team Champions of Paul Burchill & Harry Smith, The UK Pack became the first men to qualify for this years Royal Rumble along with Finlay who joined them later on in the evening. But this week, we will find out just which over Smackdown superstars will be going with them for the chance to earn a shot at the big time at Wrestlemania.
FORMER PARTNERS TO GO AT IT!
It seems that there is no hope now for the former WWE Tag Team Champions of Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas to get back together and sort out their differences. Shelton’s ego seems to have gotten the better of him ever since deciding to cost himself as well as Charlie Haas the tag titles before Christmas to The UK Pack. And last week he made it abundantly clear that he sees himself as more than a tag team wrestler and made out that he carried them to all the success they ever had. However, this week he has the chance to prove it when the two former partners meet one on one for a place in the Royal Rumble match.
Will Shelton back up his mouth, or is he in for a big shock?
HARRIS TO MAKE BIG DEBUT?
We have seen a series of videos for nearly a month now hyping the upcoming debut of Chris Harris. And we found out last week that he would be making his debut this coming week on Smackdown. Since then we have also learnt that he will be taking part in a Royal Rumble qualifying match in his big debut match. What a chance Smackdown’s newest superstar has in his first ever match in the WWE.
MVP OUT TO CHANGE HIS LUCK
It’s been a rough Christmas and New Year for MVP, losing the United States Championship to Matt Hardy inside a Steel Cage at Saturday Night’s Main Event, and losing his all important rematch last week against the very impressive new United States Champion. However, he has the chance to change all that this coming week when he has the opportunity to enter the Royal Rumble match with the possible Wrestlemania main event at stake when he too competes in a qualifying match. is his luck about to change?
