yes I won't deny that, they did lay down a lot for many that came next. But the fact is they recieve too much credit sometimes. I'm not denying that they aren't good, but the fact that a lot of people consider
One and
Master of Puppets to be the best songs ever, are beyond me. And also I have met a lot of people who only know Metallica from what they did on their St. Anger album, yet they call them the best band ever, therefore in a sense overrating them. In my opinion they are influential for sure, but they get enough credit.
