WWE: A STRONG RESPONSE
The Backstory

Following No Mercy last night and after a difficult year with ratings and pay-per-view buys taking a downward turn, the steroids and Chris Benoit scandal, the WWE have been forced to take the company in a different direction, starting immediately.

Stephanie McMahon has been joined by Shane McMahon and Nigel Smith to head up the creative team that will see Smith take charge of writing both Raw and Smackdown. Vince McMahon has decided that wrestling and competition must become the main focus of the shows ahead of over the top storylines that have left viewers frustrated and fed up with WWE programming. It must be noted that the McMahon’s may still make appearances on television as Vince in particular sees himself as a top ratings puller.

If things couldn’t have been going much worse for the company, their top star John Cena was injured last week and will be out injured for around 7 to 12 months. With Cena pulling in a lot of ratings and being by far the top seller in regards to merchandise, it is expected that he may have some kind of role in the television shows, but that is only being discussed at the moment.

With regards to the low PPV buys, the WWE have decided that only five pay-per-views will remain in place for the next calendar year at bigger arena’s with the Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, King of the Ring making its return, Summerslam and Survivor Series being the five to add importance to the shows that were lacking in meaning and were rushed like the shows that have been in place this year. With this in mind, Saturday Nights Main Event will return in March and August, but we will also see the show at the end of December too, which will start at the end of this year. By doing this, the WWE are trying to make the TV shows seem more important and to add some more credibility to them and the company in the process.

Another one of several major decisions has seen ECW scrapped immediately due to its poor ratings and feedback from agents. This was seen to be coming for a long time and with its small roster, they have been split between both Raw and Smackdown rosters, which have also seen some changes between them, but none of any major note this far.

However, several workers have been removed from the rosters on WWE.com with Ric Flair and King Booker along with his wife Queen Sharmell apparently leaving the company after lots of speculation around their current situations. This is not seen as a big surprise as Flair and Booker had made themselves very unpopular with management in the build up to their disappearance from television tapings. It must be noted that it has NOT been confirmed by either parties that they have indeed left the company. The other main departure sees Vickie Guerrero leave her role as General Manager of Smackdown, but this is due mainly to family reasons with Vickie missing her children and vice versa. No replacement has been announced yet but Teddy Long will not be making a return to television in the near future. The Major Brothers have been removed from the roster but remain in Ohio Valley Wrestling since their disastrous debut on Smackdown after leaving ECW. Mike Knox has also been released from his WWE contract while ECW General Manager Armando Alejandro Estrada’s profile is no longer on the WWE website, but he has not been released, this is the same situation that Tazz, Joey Styles, Kelly Kelly, Layla and Brooke find themselves in since ECW’s demise.

On the injury front, John Cena as we know is out for the considerable future, Edge is recovering well and is set to return in the next 4 to 6 weeks. Bobby Lashley is pushing for a return at the end of the year and Gregory Helms is the only other long term absentee with a severe neck injury that will see him out until around June next year. Shawn Michaels remains on the sidelines at home following knee surgery several months ago, but there is no word on whether he is ready to return just yet.

On the TNA front, Bound For Glory takes place in six days time boosted by the news that they have signed former WWE superstars Rob Conway and Rob Van Dam. Any WWE return for Van Dam has officially gone out of the window now. However, the Chris Jericho debate continues to go on with neither Jericho or the WWE confirming that he has indeed signed a contract following the cryptic messages that have been displayed on Raw over the last few weeks.

SMACKDOWN REVIEW
BYSC2004

>>> Okay mate, so you know by now that I’m not Linda McMahon’s biggest fan and there is no way in hell her microphone work could carry that entire segment IMO, even though we had some great talker interrupting her. She has zero charisma and the crowd is always dead when she’s in the ring. I hope you name a new GM soon. As for the Edge announcement, it’s brave. 6 - 8 weeks without the best heel in the business on the show will be tough. He will be missed. As for the overall segment, well it was strange not to have big names come out. The Masters of the mat part seemed to low key to warrant screen time at the start of the broadcast. The Matt hardy interruption was better. I liked how intense Hardy was and it set up a storyline that should run the length of the show. The tag title match up announcement isn’t a bid deal, but the match itself should be physical next week. Probably the most low key opening segment I’ve seen from you. It wasn’t badly written, it just wasn’t exciting. I think Linda and the lack of a top guy, top feud was the problem.

>>> I’m glad you threw in another segment before the commercial break as the opening promo was quite short. This segment was short, sweet and cut to chase. I liked the drama and intensity shown by Jeter, which was in stark contrast to Sydal’s subdued presence. This storyline could be a diamond in the rough!

>>> The finish was fast and furious. Great energy captured in your writing. Shelton needed the win here after looking venerable and near defeat last week in his match up with Hardy. I can’t say as I’ve ever been a Chavo Guerrero fan, but he looked good in defeat here.

>>> Two matches back to back, interesting. Even though you had them separated by commercial, it seems odd, but that doesn’t mean I’m against it. This, much like the opener had great energy and the finish was fun. The shooting star press is always a formidable sight. The real event here of course was the aftermath with Jeter showing he has more faces than Mount Rushmore.

>>> I never spot spelling or grammar mistakes in your show, so this is a treat “Mickie James is getting her make up down backstage by the resident make up artist” HEHE. This was a fun segment. I’m a fan of both divas. I liked how you broke up the conflict before it became a full blown brawl, that was smart. This feud has been done to death in real life, so I hope you can inject some life into it over the coming weeks.

>>> Sweet segment, a little soppy, I think reading my BTB is rubbing off on you. LOL. I’m kidding of course. This was a well constructed segment with back-story and heart. I don’t know if I’m willing to believe Shane has turned over a new leaf, but I actually hope he has. The idea of HBK and Shane teaming up is cool, though maybe it’s a little to soon and I’d like to see more of a reason behind them wanting to or having to team up.

>>> G-wiz another backstage segment, you’re getting as bad as me for it. HA. I’m not complaining, you know how much of a promo whore I am. HA. Nice tease here. Tazz as GM, I’d mark out for it. Okay so HBL get’s a tag match, but I mean there is no reason for this match other than the fact HBK wants to team with his cousin. Anyway, you made seem like the crowd are begging for these two to team up, so I guess I’ll buy into it as a big deal, but only just mind!!! HA

>>> Nice victory for Burke, who’s push seems to be going into overdrive. The feud between Burke and MVP is being built slowly and I like how you’ve not resorted to violence. This so far has been a war of words, which is a refreshing change.

>>> The Masters of the mat are getting some major screen time tonight. The verbal interaction between The Masters of the Mat and the UK Pack was fun. A lot of ego’s involved and it was funny watching the two teams blow off steam. The best part of this whole segment was the CM Punk tease at the end. I love those attention grabbing few seconds before commercials, it’s one sign of a great writer.

>>> Okay, here I go!!! This promo was great up until the point Linda came out. Punk’s line about Jeff being a pot head and Matt being a hot head was a bona fide classic. Matt showed intensity, anger and frustration whilst Punk played the cocky, self righteous, calm and collected heel. Just brilliant. But then Linda ruined it. Now I’m not going into what I said earlier about her being sh*t on the stick and having zero personality. The problem here is you actually tried to get us believe she could sell pissed off and quite frankly she can’t! The biggest problem I had though was the announcement of Punk VS Taker this late in the show, I mean you got to admit that’s a booking error. A match of this calibre should be announced right off the bat and this promo would of worked much better at the start of the show than it does here.

>>> What can I say, I was so wrong it hurts. I thought you were trying to trick us and you’d have Shane stab HBK in the back here. In saying that, this wouldn’t of been the best time to do it, so maybe that may still happen. This loss, does it hurt Haas and Masters??? After all they have that big tag match next week and seemed to be on their way up. Reminiscent of Miz and Morrison being jobbed out to DX, but for no good reason. Fun match though.

>>> Kind of saw the finish coming and I can’t knock you, It was the only logical way to go. Though Taker has won his last two matches, he hasn’t pinned wither opponent. To be fair to you, you don’t need to push someone like Taker to make him look strong going into a world title match. Punk looked great up until the choke slam, didn’t hurt him though. The mutual respect gimmick will work a treat in the HBL, Taker feud.

OVERALL: Well I don’t know really. Correct me if I’m wrong, but did you drastically change up your layout. It’s just normally your shows are so well balanced, but this show seems quite the opposite with matches running together and promo’s running together. I wish you’d get rid of Linda, she’s just killing the show for me if I’m honest about it she ruined to promos tonight! The matches were strong, but the main event was booked to late in the show and I didn’t get why the Masters of the Mat got jobbed out to HBK and Michael Shane. There are some interesting stuff brewing between Sydal and Jeter as well as Beth and Mickie. I’m also liking the MVP, Burke and Punk, Hardy feuds. Also, once you get into the Taker, Michaels JD build, things should pick up. This was good by any standards, but it wasn’t as good as some of the more recent editions of SD.

I totally agree mate. There's a whole lot of new things brewing and i was 50/50 with some decisions, then went the wrong way with a couple of things. Looking back, there was nothing that sticks out as being drastically bad, but i agree completely.

You pointed out the Edge injury too, and there's a reason for that as well as Jericho & Umaga amongst others being out, plus several guys from Raw. You'll find out why in some news tidbits that will be posted in the next few days or sooner.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but did you drastically change up your layout. It’s just normally your shows are so well balanced, but this show seems quite the opposite with matches running together and promo’s running together.
Yep, it was more of i had to fit them in where they were because some promos were setting up matches, and they couldn't go right before them. That's why there were promos and matches back to back throughout.

I wish you’d get rid of Linda, she’s just killing the show for me if I’m honest about it she ruined to promos tonight!
You mean two yeah?! I changed that typo i did, shocking! I'm ashamed, but it was a typo and they happen. As for Linda, i agree, but with the McMahon's on Raw, she has to be the interim authority figure. It's not going to last much longer Sean, don't worry.

The matches were strong, but the main event was booked to late in the show.
I was looking to make the Matt/Punk feud seem more important by doing it a little differently with Matt calling out Punk after waiting all night for him, so that's why that happened. In hindsight, i could have done a little earlier for sure.

I didn’t get why the Masters of the Mat got jobbed out to HBK and Michael Shane.
This was the real 50/50 decision i went back and forth on. Because it's the World & Cruiserweight Champions against them, i didn't think it would be too damaging. I thought about a DQ, but the one in the main event was important and had to happen. I couldn't have two DQ's back to back, and 2 from 5 matches. I would have been criticised for doing that, but either way, i was going to get some fair criticism.

Creative though have asked for the chance to develop younger stars like Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes, Kenny Dykstra, Matt
Sydal, Johnny Jeter, Michael Shane, Elijah Burke, Ted DiBiase Jr, John Morrison & The Miz. It looks as if the “injuries” could well
be convenient as these younger stars get some time to prove themselves.
I guess you skimmed this part!

I'm leaving some guys out for a bit to give younger guys a chance so i can develop them and have a more equal roster to play with. I was going to go with a steroid bust, but decided in favour of the injury angle.

Prods Raw Feedback

Openning: I tought this was ok, Orton was certainley in character and i liked that he brought up Kane's title reign ten years ago. The only thing i wasnt to keen on was Paul Bearer on the mic, i dont think he has any authority, Orton giving him an RKO and leaving was very good though, it is something he would do alright. Bearer having a neck brace put on etc was cool aswel ha.

Cryme Tyme v Colon Brothers:
There was some good action in this match, with nobody really seeming weak. The right team won aswell for me. Im kind of new to this so im gonna gues eddie is Primo's real name?

Kingston backstage: This was a enjoyable confrontation. It involved three different relationship situations in the one segmant. I can see this going to a Kofi and Rhodes fued with kelly having to make a big decison but at the moment its going really well. Not one of you main fueds but still a good one which says alot.

Regal/ Santino: This was gas. Santino saying China is priceless, can imagine him saying it. Not quiet sure what Santino was looking for though, i tought a match with Finlay would have been made but it was still a good segmant with characters spot on again.

Nice work with Kane taking out his anger backstage.

Kelly v Melina: Impressive preformance by Kelly and glad she won. Im confused though, Hornswoggle and Finaly came down but what happened after? The inetraction with Kofi and Rhodes was good again.

Regal/Evoloution: This was a very real segament. With Triple H using his head to egt what he wants and what will be a brilliant match later. When he was on the phone to Bishoff you described it well with the pauses etc. Regal would be the type of person to get pressured in to doing what he is asked so i liked that.

Miz v Kendrick: Was a decent match, Kendrick was the right person to win but i would have liked to see Morrison egt an attack in after the match. The whole Kendrick kinda ignoring London thing is interesting, not sure if you mean anything by it or just wanted to add to the atmosphere.

McMahon men: English fairy lol!! another good promo with JBL getting soem good words in and showing that they arent happy with the match.

Cena and Finlay v Kenny and Dibiase: Im suprised that they won the match, i know you are giving them a good push which i agree with but didnt think they would beat Cena and Finlay but the fact that Santino cost Finlay the win amd eup for it. None the less it was a good match.

Ha good decision having Santino put against Kane for his actions.

Kane/Santino: Good twist as Orton had earlier left the arena. Im not sure how the punt to the head will go down and how it will affect Kane but time will tell.

Main Event: A match with great action in it but i think it might have been too short if iw as to be ultra critical. A dirty win for JBL was the right way to do it. Shane doing the cost to cost was cool as i love that move and he got some offense in.

Overall: A top class show. Only things i can think of is that Santino was probably involved too much but the matches and promos were spot on. Well done

Thunders Review - try and be as helpful as I can

- I really do like the opening packages in peoples BTB as new readers are usually lost. So thanks for this.

- Linda explaining that Edge is out was a good idea, although im not sure why Taker wasnt dqed last week. Haas & Masters is a good team, glad you are using Haas and having Masters as the mouthepice is good move. Punk is a heel right? Good move and Matt and Punk in a feud is a plus.

- Shelton promo I did not like. Shannon and Benjamin I don't feel click.
- Im glad Jeter and Sydal aren't staying a team as Sydal owns and Jeter cleary doesn't. I hope this doesn't turn into more than a one match feud though. Put Sydal over and finish it.

- Chavo and Shelton put in a short but good and high paced TV match. Solid here and strong ending keeping Benjamin a strong champion.

- You allowed the Cyclorama. sweeeet. And I am glad it came near the end of the match and not some where in the middle/ Although the match seemed a tad spotty., thats what Sydal does though. Loving the teasin at the end of the show

- Mickie having make-up being put on :(. Dont spoil the fact we think shes naturally gorgeous. Beth grabbing her hair was a bit girly, as Beth is a dominate monster character. Mickie calling Beth "crazy" was the best word to use, most bookers would have used "bitch" and they do. but it just doesnt fit/

- HBk/Shane was a nostalgic moment and I am glad Shane is CW champion. He is a talent. I do hope you can elevate Shane by having him with Shawn or the whole angle will be counter productive

- Having Tazz in the room I thought was odd but made
perfect sense as he picked the opponents for HBK/Shane. Logic 101, something Vince needs look at in real life.

- Bout time we got a match :p. J/k athough it seemed a long time reading this. Elijah and Jordan was a decent match and it only lasted 6 minutes, so I am glad it was kept short as both are quite green, imo. Elijah is a face is a new thing around the BTB, I believe. Will have to read more of your work to see how well you portray him as a face. The match itself seemed a little hoolw. Nothing really happened, Jordan didnt get much offence in at all.

- Josh Hayger? any need change his name really. being different for the sake of it, isn't always a good thing. His name doesnt have any meaning.

- Over using masters/haas, I think it was obv. that they did not like the decision made earlier and I think the Hardy thing could have been used without having Masters and Hass in there as the UK Pack would still have gotton there air time.

- Punk with security. Classic Heel Punk. calling Jeff a "pothead" wasnt in character. Linda again. boring me
now. Punk cutting her off was a good move though. Punk/Taker! great match announced. The segment severed a purpose in the end and I am glad Linda came out. But it seems to be the formular is a) people argue b)Linda comes out and makes match. Bit repititive tonight.

- Haas using the German Suplex. Come on! he has more moves than that! Synched SuperKick at then was a cliche ending and only 7.50 of a match after the build up throughout the show. Bit shame see you push Haas/Masters and make them job within 8 minutes.

- Punk using the split-leg is cool, I take it RVD isn't on the roster then. Spinning Wheel Kick from nowhere was cool and the ending is brewing nicely. Punk using teh chair to get dq'ed was clever and I liked it as it kept Punk looking strong.

- Wow Hardy got owned pretty bad by Punk. not liking this, Punk and Hardy could have fought through the crowd leaving the intesne showdown at the end. Just seemed daft have Punk owned at the end after having such a strong show.

Overall: 7/10 - Some Great things, a lot of solid things and some unwise thinsg from my point of view. Still overall it was a good show.

Bit rusty on reviewing, So I hope it was okay.

Shit sorry man, I had a really hectic week last week and the beginning of this week with the birth of a new half sister, so I couldn’t get around to reviewing Raw, but I still have to return the favour, so I will review Smackdown.

Y2J reviews Nige’s Smackdown

Nice promo here from Linda, and to be honest, it came to me as a bit of a shocker when Tazz was announced as the General Manager of Smackdown. I found it funny when he said that now even Cole has to call him boss, and I think that you could make Tazz a good GM. I like how you have incorporated international shows, hopefully you come to Melbourne, I will get front row seats :p. Anyways, I am mixed to having Tazz as the GM, but I would like to see where you are going with this.

Sydal and Jericho absolutely PWN :p. That is all.

Two awesome matches set for later tonight, the main event will be absolutely awesome with MVP vs. Shawn, and Shane vs. Sydal will own as well. I like Shawn nowadays, but when he was the sarcastic, funny Shawn, I liked him better, probably because I am a DX fan :p.

Nice opening match between two cruiserweights, and it looks as though that Chavo is going on a mini losing streak. The Brainbuster switch towards the end of the match was a nice touch, and the obvious but right choice here was Kash winning by cheating, as Chavo will become even more frustrated with himself.

I didn’t see the preview for this week but this card is STACKED, as I said two of your main events will be great, and Dreamer and Richards vs. the Masters of the Mat which was confirmed last week looks good also. Divas for me = Meh, but I am actually looking forward to their match.

Crazy Chavo is great, and it looks as though he has cemented himself tonight as a tweener. A Guerrero and Killings feud is something different, and I am looking forward to it.

You have managed to make the Diva’s division exciting with a nice feud going on between Beth and Mickie, so kudos to you for that. I was expecting Mickie to interfere and give Phoenix either the DQ victory or a loss, but this was the right decision in my mind as it built Phoenix over.

I am not really buying Elijah Burke and Layla as faces as I said with my other Smackdown review, as just like you said with my John Morrison, as with their characters, they are just meant to be heels. Burke and MVP for next week will be great, and I think that Burke will win and go onto to have a shot at Judgement Day for the MITB Briefcase. Also, making the tag team Number One Contender’s match makes it much more exciting, as Dreamer cannot really carry a normal match nowadays.

I can’t believe you just bagged Australia, GRR :p. The Victory Celebration is looking good with the Gold Standard, and I believe that it was a nice touch to have Funaki come out in his homeland. That must be the biggest ovation ever for Kung- I mean Funaki.

An obvious Benjamin win here over Japan’s native, and it gets Shelton over by beating a country’s resident. Benjamin and Moore both getting a pushes is great and it is good to see that you are at least using Shannon. Shelton better go over in this feud, he is a future World Champion in my eyes.

Shannon vs. Benjamin for the UNITED STATES Title in AUSTRALIA is good, but Benjamin will go over as Moore will then go into the Cruiserweight Division. This Punk vs. both Hardy Boyz thing is absolutely awesome in my opinion, because as you have seen in my thread, I think heel Punk pwns. Hopefully Punk appears in Australia next week ;).

I knew that there would be a Jeter vs. Sydal feud, and even though I had the slightest feeling that Sydal would come out the victor and Jeter attack him after the match, this was the right decision. Shane getting a push is good, and hopefully you have a great Sydal and Jeter feud, as I know that you can pull it off.

It was a nice MVP promo here, pretty much stating that he is better than everyone else which I know that simple people on here think is true (wrestlefreak :p). Burke and MVP is a great feud, and as for the Jeter promo, it was good also, and the best way to complete his heel turn was saying that he was sick of Sydal. You can have these two put on some great matches, I am looking forward to it.

With me being an ECW mark, this was a good match, but would have loved to see more hardcore action. I would have thought that Dreamer and Richards would dominate a good portion of the match since it is their playground, but it did put the Masters of the Mat over. The Olympic Slam through the table would have been sick to see IRL. Can’t wait for the Masters of the Mat against the UK Pack, it will take place at JD right?

Nice, intense promo here from Hardy against Punk, as it makes the rivalry seem more personal, which it already is anyways. Nice way to put over the feud, Hardy and Punk, so kudos to you for that as well. It was a good promo, and I can’t wait for the confrontation, which will hopefully happen next week.

Finally, the match that I have been looking forward to the most, the World Heavyweight Champion Shawn Michaels vs. Mr. MITB MVP. I would have thought that HBK would be a face in peril and then work his way back into the match, as most of your matches seem to be the same structure where someone dominates, and then either wins or there is a short comeback and the other wins. Anyway, I feel that it was a cop out to have such a huge main event end in a DQ finish. Nice touch at the end, and it creates great hype for a huge match at Judgement Day.

Overall, it was a good show Nige as per usual, you hyped your feuds tremendously, such as Hardy vs. Punk, Michaels vs. Undertaker, Benjamin vs. Moore, MVP vs. Burke and the Masters of the Mat vs. the UK Pack. I am not exactly sure when the UK Pack vs. the MOTM will take place, but is sure to be a hell of a match. Tazz as GM is interesting, I am looking forward to seeing this pan out and possibly have him go biased against the Masters of the Mat. Can’t wait for Raw and next week’s Smackdown.

Smackdown Review:

Wow good way to open the show, didn't expect Tazz to be named as the GM. I really liked this promo and I think it is the beginning of the things to come with Tazz really laying down the law, hopefully Smackdown will get a bit more extreme now as well.

I like that you have Shawn and Michael working together so closely, I think it could lead to a very good storyline with Michaels mentoring Michael Shane. Tazz appearing and making his firsts decision as GM was a good decision as it solidifies the fact that he means business and that Smackdown is going to become more entertaining.

The opening match between Chavo and Kid Kash was a good quick paced match and a good way to kick off the show. Having Kash pick up the win was probably the right choice because it solidifies him as a top heel in the cruiser weight division and sets up a possible unlucky/losing streak storyline with Chavo due to the fact that he seemed very frustrated after the match.

I really liked the backstage segment with Chavo and Killings, looks like Chavo's frustrations might be getting the better of him. I think a heel turn for him would be smart booking because he is more entertaining as a heel then a face.

Beth Phoenix and Mickie James are probably the two best divas in the WWE at the moment so a feud between the two of them is an obvious choice. The match was written well and didn't see the divas fighting more like men like you do in some BTB. Having Beth win was the obvious choice here.

Elijah Burke getting a match against MVP next week is pretty exciting and is a good way to get readers coming back and progress the thread. By the looks of things Tazz's office is going to be getting a real work out but hopefully he can hold his word and handle the pressure well.

Shelton Benjamin's promo was written really well and it looks like you are going for an angle where he finally realises how under used he is and hopefully you give him the opportunity to showcase all of his talents. The match with Funaki helped display Shelton as a dominate superstar and I think it was written particularly well. It appears you a setting up a feud between Shelton and Moore which should be a pretty interesting read.

The CM Punk promo was really good and I love seeing Punk as a heel, can't wait for him to return to action and continue feuding with Matt Hardy and maybe even start a feud between the Undertaker.

Bourne v Shane was a good fast past match which I really enjoyed reading, hopefully they will tie up again at some point in the future. This match was also planned as an obvious set up for a Bourne/Jetter feud which will be a very entertaining read.

You seem to be exceptional at writing these heel promos because the MVP promo was a great read. His character is really being built well and hopefully the MITB briefcase leads to a title reign for him in the near future.

The Masters of the Mat was a much better choice in terms of what would make a better wrestling match then Richards and Dreamer. I was actually a bit surprised that Richards and Dreamer lost due to the fact that the match was fought under extreme rules but it was still a very good choice in my opinion.

I agree with sc2004 when he said in his review that Matt's promo seemed a little irrelevant but it still built up the feud well it will be exciting to see what happens next in this intense rivalry.

The main event was a really good match and a DQ finish makes both the champion and the eventual number one contender stay strong. Undertaker's appearance at the end was a nice little touch to end the show and the show going off air with Michaels and Taker facing off with each other makes us wonder what happened after the show went off air and what will happen next.

Overall this was a really good show that I enjoyed reading, I think this BTB has a lot of good things going for it and I will definitely continue to read it in the future.

IrishProdigy Raw Review

Oppening: Brilliant open to the show with Triple H talking some sense and stating what is important. When McMahon’s came up on the tron i expected them to make a match or something, but what they did was so much better. Good way to get more intensity into a rivalry by bringing a family member into it. The beat down seemed good and Flair reacted well. It was good that Triple H and Batista didn’t go and ims sure Flair will be out for revenge at backlash. Just one thing, i haven’t decided what would be better yet but should you not have put that part in your FCW show?

Lol funny promo backstage with Santino and Regal and Bischoff. It was a good way to set up the match with Cena. I was surprised with how well Bischoff took what Regal did and praised him. The way you described Regals body language while Santino was moaning was good.

Shad v Carlito: Not much going on here, straight forward. Good win for Carlito and the right decision. Having Perez get involved was good for the excitement level rather then just having a normal finish.

Rhodes and Kelly: Some more heat between the couple as its getting more interesting as it goes on. Good way to get Cody’s hopes down and then build them back up lol. It will be a good match and having Kelly wrestle some more with Rhodes not approving is another good move. Where is this one going, im sure we will find out at backlash.

Venis v Murdoch, when i saw this i was ready to unleash lol but then it turned out to just be because you wanted to get Kane out with an impact. So its not bad. Orton claiming he is still the champion was typical so good move. The whole you cant touch thing was genius because he hit Bearer and Kane couldn’t anything about it. Good authority by Bischoff making him hand the belt back though. Good match made for alter aswel, how will they co exist. One thing i think Regal and Bischoff are together too much.

Diva Match: Not a bad match, did what you could. Hornswoggle getting involved was a good idea i thought and costing Melina the match worked out well. Orton backstage i thought was maybe a bit too quick after just being in the ring not long ago.

Kelly and Kingston: Kofi trying to win Kelly over by being nice? lol It was tense between the three of them. This is one of my favourite things in your thread at the moment and you deserve allot of credit for it.

Holly v DiBiase: I always liked open challenges. I think the challenger was a bit weak but ah well. It was a chance for DiBiase to show his skills and he did. It will be weird if anyone ever wins that title off him ha.

Kendrick and London gain the momentum going into the match at Backalsh. It was a good way to use these men on the show as they wouldn’t want to be competing a few days before a title match but it is unlike them too be attacking someone from behind.

Cena v Santino: Santino in another high profile match lol. Loving the whole Dykstra making the count thing. It adds to their match at backlash which is coming along nicely now. Im not surprised Santino didn’t really get any offence in during the match but i loved the way Hornswoggle bit him, it was realistic.

Main Event: A good match for a Raw match. I liked the interaction between Kane and Orton aswel as Triple H and Batista. I sense something going on between Batista and Triple H. Kane showed dominance well again but Orton taking his title again was a bit weird after being told to give it back.

Overall: Another good show, they all seem to be following a pattern now with one never being too much better or worse then another one. Maybe some more reference to it being in Australia would have been good but ah well. Well done again.

Just one thing, i haven’t decided what would be better yet but should you not have put that part in your FCW show?
It was after the show finished, I should have mentioned that.

I'm not too sure if it was a wise decision to have Kane pin Batista clean right before Backlash. I know you're building Kane as the 97/98 monster, but I think in this situation a DQ or No Contest would've been the best way to book without hurting any of the participants' credibility heading into Backlash. Apart from that, in general I think things are going well in the thread. The McMahons/Evolution angle is going well and gets more personal each and every week, as it should. I just hope from Backlash onwards, we get some new main event feuds as things need a little freshening up.
There was a reason for Batista losing clean as some have touched on, and it involves the feud with The McMahon’s.

As for Raw getting freshened up, you can count on it after Backlash. Some feuds will carry on, as they have to, but there will be some new ones in the main event scene in particular, possibly with a new WWE Champion. LOL, I tease too much, but it may happen.

Are you giving Kane an undefeated streak, or something? I don't think he's been pinned since the Royal Rumble.
You’re right, he’s not. He might at Backlash though. There’s the teasing again.

This Orton interview came to soon. Since he attacked Bearer in the ring there has been 1 commercial break and the divas match, so basically it’s been 10 minutes since we’ve seen Orton. Orton was very intense here. The fact he’s trying to make he’s not scared of Kane when he clearly is was funny. He’s proud of his cowardly, sickening attacks and that’s why he’s a great heel.
A few people have touched on this, and I can see why. It was only done to hype up his match at Backlash and explain why he took the belt back, and to promote that really. The timing of it was to get his reaction straight after as he walked through the back, but it’s good you saw the point of it there.

Hey Nige, I've been reading for a few months, and I really like your thread, but I haven't been posting so I just thought I'd give you a little feedback. I'll be reviewing in full after Backlash.

I liked your show, as always. Are you giving Kane an undefeated streak, or something? I don't think he's been pinned since the Royal Rumble.
Seriously, though, it was a good show and I can't wait for Backlash!
Keep up the good work.

Smackdown Review: First of all it's really cool to see you doing a show from Australia but anyway. The opening promo with Shawn Michael's was a great way to hype the big match at Judgment Day and a good way to keep the fans behind Michael's. I like the tone changes used to point out the importance of this match which I think will be a good one come Judgment Day. Good job on this one not really anything to criticize or comment on.

The segment after Michael's promo involving Michael Shane was good, I like the way your are developing the character of someone unknown to most of the guys on this forum and getting him over in a big way. I would love to see at some point in the future him and Michael's have a couple of matches just to see how far he has actually come.

The match between Benjamin and Shannon was short but entertaining enough and yet makes Benjamin look like a dominate champion. Would like to see Shannon Moore in more big matches as well as he is pretty talented and has a good look ect.

I like that you are keeping Matt and Punk apart for the time being, it means that the match at Judgment day will be a lot more entertaining and intense. Shelton Benjamin getting in the new GM's face is a good way to put Tazz's managerial skills to the test and a good way to put Benjamin over as a solid heel champion.

Maria v Beth Phoenix was the second squash match of the night basically but fair enough on account of in reality Maria wouldn't stand a chance against Beth and this match was basically to hype Beth and the other members of the womens division not Maria so it's good. Was a good way to make Beth look dominant.

Obviously a big feud is about to break out between Jeter and Bourne but thats good because they both have the ability to put on great matches and it should be a very interesting storyline. The fact that Jeter is going up against Undertaker gives him and this feud credibility and was a wise choice on your behalf.

I honestly thought Chavo and Killings where going to reconcile here but I was wrong which makes me believe this segment was incredibly well written. This is a good way to set up a Chavo v Killings feud and get Chavo some heat.

Cool match between Haas and Smith, they are both very talented. I really like the tag team of Burchill and Smith and I think it has potential to boost their careers(in your thread at least) quite a bit and they will hopefully eventually become singles competitors. This is a good tag team feud that's building nicely and I can't wait to read the impending match between the two teams.

The match between MVP and Burke should be a good one and this segment was a good way to hype it, nothing to fault here.

Very good way to build heat on the Punk v Hardy feud as you had Punk be the cause for Matt's lose, i think when they square off at Judgment Day it is going to be a match to remember simply because of the awesome build you have managed to create for this feud. I liked the backstage segment with Punk and Tazz, good to see Punk getting good air time.

A DQ victory was a good way to continue this feud and making the match at Judgment day NO DQ was a good way to add an extra dimension to that match and gives the two enemies an opportunity to really beat the crap out of each other which is always good.

Hardy v Jeter was pretty short for a main event but still an entertaining match to read, I think this was smart booking because it gives Taker something to do and makes him look dominate while Shawn is away and as I said earlier even though he was defeated quite easily it gives Jeter some credibility and adds to his feud with Sydal. Nice Match

Overall this was a good show that had a bit of everything. If there was one thing I would do different it would be making the matches a bit longer, two of the matches where squash matches and the main event only went for 7 mins but it was still a good show. Judgment day is looking good so far, hope this review wasn't too bad.

WWE Backlash 2008
Sunday April 27th
From The Pepsi Center – Denver, Colorado

***The Preview!***

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP
Randy Orton vs Kane (c)

Can Randy Orton regain his WWE Championship and become the first man to defeat Kane since his shock return and victory at the Royal Rumble in the process? That is the question on everyone’s mind as we approach Backlash tomorrow night, live from The Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

It’s fair to say that the WWE Champion has looked almost unbeatable since his return, but we have seen the former Champion take his intensity up another level ever since he lost the title at Wrestlemania last month. However, as The Legend Killer puts it, it was John Cena that lost to Kane, meaning he didn’t ‘officially’ lose the title. He looks extremely determined to get his hands back on the title, and for the last two weeks, he has done just that, stealing the title away from The Big Red Machine. The levels that he has gone to in order to make a statement have been fierce, and he has been at it since the moment Kane took the title away from him.

The very next night after Wrestlemania in the first action of the night, Mr. Money in the Bank, MVP was taking on Mr. Kennedy. After MVP was victorious, Orton stormed down to the ring and punted Kennedy in the head for no reason before demanding his rematch there and then. Eric Bischoff, Raw’s Independent Head of Authority told him he would have to wait until Backlash, but Orton couldn’t wait to go on the warpath. Not only has he stolen the WWE Championship from Kane, he has attacked his father, Paul Bearer twice in the last two weeks. Is The Legend Killer on the road to revenge, or will he be on the end of it?

NON SANCTIONED MATCH
Evolution vs The McMahon’s

If the rivalry between these two groups of men wasn’t heated before, it certainly is now after the events of Monday night.

This goes far beyond Triple H & Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley’s marriage, their deception over John “Bradshaw” Layfield being the illegitimate son of Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon reuniting with his father, and the reformation of Evolution. This now has become an extremely personal situation between six men that will see them compete with no rules whatsoever when they meet this Sunday in a Wrestlemania rematch. It is a match that The McMahon Men actually lobbied for, and were awarded by Eric Bischoff. When the announcement was made by Mr. McMahon himself, they set the tone for what would and will follow with JBL vowing revenge for Wrestlemania, and changing the balance of this unholy war.

With Evolution standing in the ring, JBL calmly approached the ring to declare that it if there was any justice in the world, along with his family, he would defeat Evolution at Backlash, and that Stephanie would lose her unborn child. It understandably infuriated The Game as a wild brawl broke out which took security an age to break up. That was not as personal as it would get, as The McMahon’s took it to a whole new level this past Monday by taking advantage of the Raw trip to Sydney. Knowing that Ric Flair and Evolution would be away for the long weekend, Vince and his sons paid a visit to Reid Flair, the son of The Nature Boy and assaulted him after his debut match in FCW on the Saturday night. They then presented the footage to an irate Evolution live on Raw, leading to The Nature Boy rushing back home to be with his son. God only knows what to expect tomorrow night.

John Cena vs Kenny Dykstra

It’s crunch time for Kenny Dykstra as he is forced to give his mouth a rest for the night to go up against the multi time WWE Champion, John Cena.

There is no doubting the accomplishments of John Cena, but Dykstra seems to value his lesser ones way too much. There’s no doubt he was impressive in becoming the sole survivor last November to become the Cruiserweight Champion, beating seven others to take the gold, but it doesn’t come anywhere near matching up to the record of Cena. Dykstra has the chance to climb up the ladder tomorrow night, but Cena has the chance to ensure he doesn’t get past the first rung, and gain a whole lot of satisfaction in the process. Dykstra sure has done a lot to get under Cena’s skin, making sure everyone knows exactly who he is at the same time.

Having been drafted over to Raw a week earlier, Kenny took exception to Cena’s arguably sarcastic response of not knowing who he was. The fun loving side of Cena came back to haunt him later on as Dykstra made sure he knew, distracting Cena and costing him chance to become the WWE Champion. He continued in his quest to anger Cena by running down to the ring during his match with Santino this week and attacking the referee before counting a quick fall to give Santino a huge victory. When Cena returned to his dressing room, he discovered the wall had been spray painted with the words “You can’t see me”. It could be one long night for Dykstra when he faces the backlash of John Cena.

INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Kofi Kingston (c) vs Cody Rhodes

What can you say about the friendship of Kofi Kingston & Cody Rhodes?

We’re going to get a good idea of the answer to that when these two clash for the Intercontinental Championship in Denver tomorrow evening. Things between them have become strained to say the least since Kofi won the Intercontinental title nearly four weeks ago in a tag team elimination match that saw Cody as his partner. Due to the rules put in place, the member of the team that got the pinfall would leave as the champion, and seemingly to the frustration of Cody. He went to Eric Bischoff and asked for a shot at the gold, but he didn’t get the answer he was looking for, but it wasn’t just the Intercontinental Championship that was upsetting him.

A couple of weeks earlier, there was an insinuation from The Colon Brothers that there may be more than meets the eye as far as the relationship between Kofi and Cody’s girlfriend, Kelly Kelly. It was clearly designed to wind Cody up, but with the bitterness already sinking in, it was obvious that Cody had doubts. Both Kofi & Kelly denied the rumours, but Cody has changed drastically from being very laid back to an aggressive control freak. His treatment of Kelly has been questionable, and that appears to have had an effect on Kofi as he went to Bischoff himself this past week to ask for Cody to be given what he wants, a shot at the gold. Will Kofi’s plan to move on work, or is their trouble around the corner?

WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Paul London & Brian Kendrick (c) vs John Morrison & The Miz

The arrogance of the challengers here may just be their undoing come Sunday, as they sure have lit a fire underneath the two men that wear the gold right now.

John Morrison & The Miz haven’t held back in their comments towards Paul London & Brian Kendrick since moving to Raw from Smackdown two months ago. But over the last few weeks, it has escalated at quite a pace with the challengers accusing the champions of not being good enough to carry the titles, and even going so far as to speculate that their hearts aren’t in anymore. That got a strong reaction a week later as one half of the champions in Kendrick met The Miz one on one, and emerged victorious. It seemed to take Miz and his partner by surprise, but they called it a fluke Monday night just gone, and they quickly continued to put down London & Kendrick. However, they only caused to anger them further as the champs struck back by attacking them backstage during the interview. There’s no shortage of tension going in to this one as the defiant champions put their gold up for grabs against the cocky duo of John Morrison & The Miz. Just who will have the bragging rights when this is all said and done?

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP FOR THE WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP
Candice Michelle vs Kelly Kelly vs Melina vs Natalya Neidhart

We all saw Victoria crowned as the new WWE Women’s Champion at Wrestlemania 23, and to shake the foundations of the diva division even further, a number of the top divas were drafted to Smackdown, including Mickie James & Beth Phoenix. That quickly left a void with Victoria needing a challenger, and we’re going to find out who that will be when these four divas compete for a shot at her title.

Beth Pheonix’s ally, Natalya Neidhart told Victoria a couple of weeks ago that life without Beth on Raw wasn’t going to be as easy as she thought. Could it be that Natalya carries on where The Glamazon left off before heading to Smackdown? We have two former champions in Candice Michelle & Melina who will be desperately trying to stop her and add to their number of title reigns. The troubled Kelly Kelly will also be looking to take her mind off of Cody Rhodes & Kofi Kingston by earning a crack at the title, in addition to following up her first two victories since joining Raw. Just who will it be that is standing tall with a title shot waiting in the wings?

Finlay vs Santino Marella

It doesn’t take much to get under the skin of Santino Marella, but by the looks of things, a leprechaun does just the trick.

Since Finlay was drafted to Raw, Hornswoggle has become quite a menace to Santino and his girlfriend, Melina, leading to the fiery Italian gunning for the fighting Irishman in this all European encounter. It all started quite innocently as Hornswoggle’s antics around the ring led to Melina screaming out loud during a match between Finlay & Santino, resulting in a defeat for the Italian Stallion. He’s been quite busy since then, asking for Finlay to be punished, but when action was forced on to him, he quickly got the Irishman’s attention. Two weeks ago on Raw, he raced down to the ring during Finlay’s match to steal his shillelagh, and in turn, the distraction led to Finlay losing the match. He and Hornswoggle fired back this past Monday after Santino was celebrating like crazy due to his shocking yet controversial victory over John Cena. They quickly crashed the party and left him lying in the ring. Which one of them will be left lying in the ring tomorrow night?

Nige's Backlash Review By Kanefan4E

I have to say, the build up to this unsanctioned match between Evolution and The McMahon Men has been nothing short of sensational. It got so personal, especially when John Bradshaw Layfield stated that he hoped Stephanie lost the unborn baby. I actually had to double take at that line to see whether you actually booked it, and you most certainly did. That has made this match all the more enjoyable in my opinion. It's certainly my favourite feud on RAW at the moment, and that should come as a shock considering The Big Red Machine Kane is involved in another high profile feud. More on that later.

The actual content of the Unsanctioned match was great. Really entertaining to be honest. I enjoyed the way you wrote The Big Show's arrival. Like I said, I had an inkling as to who it would be returning when you posted the news and notes, but I had my doubts throughout the PPV. I think it's safe to say that Triple H's next match will be against The Big Show. Especially after reading the ending of this unsanctioned match. To be honest with you Nige, I'd actually mark a little inside for this match. I remember their somewhat filler feud in real life, back in 2005/2006. Their match at New Years Revolution was pretty darn good, so I expect yours would be too. That's if you book it, for all I know you could go a completely different way.

Batista seemed to get a decent running in this match. Everywhere I looked I could see nothing but 'SPEAR' pretty much here there and everywhere. I'm not sure whether Batista will get any sort of a push after this, but it's safe to say he deserves one. It's pretty clear you booked him to be a dominant force in this match. The one thing I'm really looking forward to is reading where you take the two factions. It's safe to say they'll still be feuding with each other, but the most important thing is what angle you'll go with to keep the feud fresh.

Staying on the positives, because that's all I seemed to notice in this show. The King Of The Ring! I'm stoked to see this make a return. I've not seen it used in BTB a whole lot, especially not the actual PPV. I really can't wait to see who you decided to push and de-push in this tournament. Hopefully the finals will produce a great PPV quality match. Dykstra please. Speaking of Dykstra, I really thought you were going to book him over Cena, especially with Cena leaving to film a movie. I guess I was wrong. None the less, at least Dykstra got a PPV match, and a damn good showing against one of the best in the company in Cena. I can see Dykstra's name in stars. Oh and Dykstra >> Doane, so good call my friend.

Finally, I can get to something I didn't particularly like on this show. Don't get me wrong, nothing makes me smile more than Kane getting a decent push, let alone holding the Championship belt for a good few months. I applaud you for giving Kane a fucking decent role on RAW, rather than have him job to unworthy pieces of shit. However, it was pretty much a given that Kane would retain tonight. You built Orton up too strong in my opinion. Kane hardly got a look in during the build up from Wrestlemania to Backlash, that's why I could tell he was going to pull out the victory. I'm looking forward to where you go from here though. I don't think the feud is fresh enough to continue it, but I'll wait and see what you do. Hopefully Kane continues to carry the brand.

Candice looked smoking in your banner Nige. Really, really smoking :)

I apologise for not being able to comment on everything, but you know as well as me that I've only recently got back into this thread, and even that was from the last Smackdown, so I wasn't very knowledgeable of your RAW goings on. Rest assured though that I know all the ins and outs on RAW, so I'm able to get back into both brands. Again I apologise for the short review, and before I go I just want to say you're doing a great job here in the BTB section. Over a year and still going strong. Fucking awesome stuff. Anyway, enough of the arse kissing. I look forward to RAW

Haven't popped in here for a good while. I understand that thsi is the show following Backlash, yes...? I figure the shows right before or right after PPVs are a great time to start tuning in, since alot of storylining should be going on, so I'll see if I can get back into this thread with this.

619s Feedback For Niges Monday Night RAW

Nice video package here, really got me caught up on plenty things. I see possibly Kenny D getting a solid look, and most obviously Show and Kennedy pushes. We'll just have to keep our eyes peeled for the duration of the broadcast...

I see Orton is here to open the show. Is he still in the title hunt? I haven't checked in a while; I guess we'll have to see. Mr. K gets his chance to shine here, I hope. Wow, this caught me up on a lot. I can see why these two are locking horns - its a simple case of pride, apparently. I like that Kennedy and Orton are going at it, but what's kinda confusing is what Bischoff said when he came out. It might not have clicked with me, but its kinda weird to have a #1 Contender's tourny, concluding at KOTR. Would that be two tournys at once...? I guess I'll have to see how you hadle that one...

Jimmy Wang Yang push? I love this guy. He's underappreciated, but he's as versatile a cruiserweight as they come. It does my heart good to see him go over Santino (no offense to the Italian Stallion). Does my heart even better to see Nattie get her hands dirty in this one. Wanna see what this leads to.

Interesting here. Your Cody Rhodes character is one cocky piece of work. I like. The interviewer I believe I'm unfamiliar with, but she seems to have a bit of a character as well. As for Kelly and Victoria, I see that you've kept Vicky a face, and their match next week actually is look-forward-to-able, if that makes sense.

Hehehe I snickered durring this promo here. Excellent heel tactics by everyone in the room, most notably Rhodes. Champion v. Champion later should be a blast, even if it seems a little lopsided. I guess it's not the match itself that matters here, just the storylining, and it is great despite how little it might seem. Props.

Your young guns are really cocky assholes. That's a good thing. I see Dibiase has his father's namesake stuff, great for him to be with Maryse as well, and his technical undefeated streak is ended tonight it would seem. I can only imagine this sparks something between the two of them.
The match itself was solid as they come, with the not too suprising DQ heel finish.

Cody again? Third segment in the show for this kid. I like the psychology going on here, with Cody suddenly appearing to have a change of heart after actually looking to pump Kofi up. A little odd for Kof to say 'hell'. The second half was more jealous heel kind of characterizing, surprised that Kofi was already gonna cherish this match. Nice job here.

Ugh. The lovesick basterds. Anyway, I liked this segment, as it brings the sire into the picture, or back in, if he was before. Excellent words of wisdom from Teddy Sr., but great way to make Jr. look as cocky as he appears to be by shrugging it off. Not a wasted segment in this show.

This whole tag team chunk was very enjoyable, might I say. From what I got, London and Kendrick must've had a good showing at Backlash and won them some gold, though a little shaky to have them lose their first mach with that gold. Good way to make the Colons look strong, however. Miz and Morrison against London and Kendrick should spell awesomeness. I'm expecting nothing less :side:. The Cryme Time/Colon segment afterward was pretty sweet as well, lightening things up a bit. You don't steal from *******. Ever.

Mysterio = ratings.

I'm looking at this stable of the McMahons and it doesn't click right for me. I understand their personas do click, but it doesn't feel quite right for me. JBL on the same side as Big Show is a little weird, but from what I've seen/read what you've done with all these guys, I really do like it. Big Show ftw, very interested in where this leads. The first round match for next week sounds very interesting as well, looking to prove Show can do it on his own...?

Didn't really expect a different outcome, but excellend showing by Kofi here that's he's still a fighting champion through and through. A mere apetizer match for Kane, I assume, just getting him some ring action. Interseting with the Chokeslam/Tombstone combo. Givin' Kofi props solely because he's awesome.

Wow. This pretty much cements my 'your youngsters are assholes' theory. An arrogant Kenny is a good Kenny and a good Kenny is a happy me. Make magic work with this kid. I know you can.

Great back and forth match, especially with the mentnion that the two were very evenly matched. Obvious a Kennedy push is in the works, but I want to see this prorag with Orton continue. This match really drew me in and wanted me to see more of these two. The finish was a little shaky, though. The rebounded chair sounds more like a boneheaded move than a fate that would befall a man like Orton. Either way, whatever works works.

FINAL THOUGHTS: ABOVE AVERAGE FOR A FALLOUT SHOW. I enjoyed this show very much, seeing as how the only things I felt took me a little out of it was the amount of promos, but seeing as how it is a fallout show, I expected that. I made the note of how brash and arrogant your young stars are, which I think is a very good foundation to have them to build upon their characters. It looks like you're going into a trnasitional phase, concentrating more on the mid and upper cards here with this Quest To Be Champion thing goin' on and potentially the KOTR. Still, great job here Nige, didn't expect anything less.
OVERALL: 8.5/10. Storylining is the main reason. Thanks for the great read and keep things up, man

Bradley's Smackdown Review:

I'm not going to be able to write much on this seeing as how it is in recap so I may waffle on a bit...

CM Punk is all kinds of awesome in this thread and I have loved him ever since his feud with Jeff. It's nice to see he has turned his attention to Matt for the time being until we see Punk/Jeff HIAC :side: Punk being a disgruntled son of a bitch is a character I can engage with and his personal crusade against Taz has so many routes. After the seeming stagnation of your Smackdown shows after 'Mania things finally seem to be picking up because it can't be easy building up for a show that is two whole months away. I don't see Tazz coming out an grinning, I would like to see his more serious side once in a while and not as a loveable cuddly Foley-esque guy. It was interesting decision for an opening promo but, surprisingly enough, it worked. It compacted a main storyline (Tazz being GM) and the two matches at JD and gave them some good hype and gave them both a match later on (despite the old cliched tag match). Phenomenal booking.

Masters and Haas both getting pushes is something I am a big advocate on, especially Haas. People will generically say Haas can't work a heel role in this thread but you're the booker and you seem (it's hard to decipher from the recap but the past has shown it) to have nailed his cockiness and you could say this is the World's Greatest Tag Team V2. An obvious response from Tazz to put them up against the two biggest guys on the roster, give 'em the rub... I dare ya. I also like seeing you push people by having them go against the Undertaker, I remember you putting Dykstra and, I believe, Benjamin against them and they seem to have come off pretty well but I hope we don't get a Tazz overdose because I won't be able to survive, even if you let me.

Oooh a mystery woman angle... I don't know who this is going to be but I hope you don't let us down. Phoenix continues to look strong but I hope Mickie gets a match at JD against this woman because she needs some sort of direction, promo later for her should sort things out. This could also be interesting for Phoenix, a new rival for her would do wonders for the decision... I am not too knowledgeable on your women's division but it could be Gail Kim unless she is on RAW or Smackdown.

Kash getting a push? Me likey. I've always loved your CW division and you love building up the lesser known stars so I expect good things and Kash really is on a roll but more Guerrero wouldn't go amiss.

Still open house rules? Jesus that's been on for a good while. I would laugh out loud if all of RAW invaded Smackdown for no reason and took advantage of open house roles and RAW was left with Doink the Clown... :side: Anyway, I am actually disappointed to see you job out OJ, hopefully the two can have a mini feud while Lashley should be odds on to face Benjamin next.

The Hardy/Burke segment was a bit bland if I am honest with you. No real interaction and it was just filler. The commentators could have done the sane job building that up.

Swagger... sorry Hayger has been 'Coming Soon' for the last millenia it seems, when is he coming? Judgement Day would be a logical guess, then again you aren't always predictable...

Kash is looking good and I expect him to beat Shane at JD. Shane seems a bit of a faceless character at the moment, give him some sort of interaction instead of an enigmatic nod.

Why would the fans boo when Benjamin said that it wouldn't seem right to do it anywhere but the USA. Them crazy Yanks would go positively ape shit for that gushing patriotic remark. OHDEARGOD TAZZ??? Does he just lurk behind the curtains waiting for mic time after being held back all of these years? Yep, the parade was nice (the detail was minimal though) and the match is a good idea but I don't see Benjamin losing and being a transitional champion and you seem to just be throwing together people for the sake of it here.

Ahhhh, this is what (arguably) made you famous. I used to love sitting down, by the ol' log fire and reading one of your TV matches that were packed with excitement from your old thread 'The New Era' (your combined threads mean you have around 186 pages of BTB, probably the second highest ever behind Wolfy) and this was no different. A lot of back and forth action and it was good to see you holding back the inevitable clashes until Judgement Day and not having the opponents face off just yet. Punk won't be happy, possible teaser for Punk/MVP? Now that would be good. One thing I don't like (in wrestling in general) is that the Money in the Bank goes through some boring, lame feuds that mean nothing until he cashes it in. IMO the guy has to cash it in within two months so it doesn't become stale.

Sydal wins... fine. Jeter/Sydal could be quite the feud if it is given some more time. Ahhh my main man Chavo is here and he is a heel! YES! He seems a bit schizo (I'm not spelling the full word) and this could be very interesting. Not a fan of Killings at all but whatever floats your boat.

Michaels to turn heel. He HAS to to keep this feud running along at a good pace. I see Michaels going crazy from all the rumous and attacking the Deadman.

I would have preferred Masters and Haas to get more offense in as Haas basically wasn't there, then again neither was The Undertaker. A nice ending to freshen things up with 'Taker thinking it was HBK. I wonder what HBK will do now after that but I don't think he will take it lightly...

A good show once again, focusing around the main feuds. A little more emphasis could have been placed on the main feud between HBK and The Undertaker and Tazz featured a little too much but it was still a solid show and I hope you keep it up.

Hey Nige, despite my lack of comments and reviewing i have been reading. I might be able to hit you with a review for this Raw, because i read the preview and things are looking pretty good.

However, at the top of your preview it says Raw results, and, well, its not your results its a preview. Just something i think MUST be changed because, no offense or anything, but, it's kind of a jobber mistake.

Ted DiBiase Jr just defeating Jimmy Wang Yang thanks to a distraction from Maryse

From Last Week
  • DiBiase Jr losing to Finlay by disqualification after a shot to the head with the Million Dollar title belt
  • DiBiase Jr being confronted by his dad in the dressing room and being accused of becoming complacent, only for the youngster to say his dad was jealous after he left
{Cut To Ringside}

As DiBiase Jr waits in the ring, “Gonna Punch Someone Tonight” plays to a pop from the crowd as Jimmy Wang Yang makes his way down to the ring, looking as happy as ever. Just before the bell rings, “La Vittoria é Mia” hits as Santino Marella & Melina walk down the ramp and join JR & The King at the announce table. JR mentions Yang’s victory over Santino last week, and that doesn’t go down well with the unhappy Italian with Yang looking put out at Santino’s presence.

***The Opening Match***

Non Title Match
Jimmy Wang Yang vs Ted DiBiase Jr w/“The Million Dollar Woman” Maryse

ENDING:
DiBiase started complacently again, letting Yang get on top until coming back in to it after a distraction from Maryse. With Yang slowly getting back up, DiBiase stands by waiting to pounce, and he shifts behind his opponent. As Yang stands up fully, DiBiase tries to lock in The Cobra Clutch, but Yang fights it straight away by driving his leg back in to DiBiase’s knee, freeing himself with DiBiase falling to his knees. Yang runs forward in to the ropes, and as he comes back, DiBiase takes him by surprise as he lifts himself up and connects with a falling clothesline. The Million Dollar Champion hit it hard and follows up for a cover, but Yang kicks out at 2. Maryse encourages Ted Jr as he stands back up, and he urges Yang back up to his feet, looking very impatient. Again he shifts behind Yang as he stands up, but Yang spins round before DiBiase can grab him properly, and he manages to pull him down in to an Inside Cradle. DiBiase kicks out at 2 with both men racing back up, and DiBiase runs right in to a jumping spinning leg lariat that gets a big pop from the crowd.

The youngster starts to show signs of movement on the mat as Yang stops and looks in to the crowd, getting them going as he then walks towards the apron and through the ropes in front of Santino. The Italian looks disgusted and leaves his position at the announce table, distracting Yang who looks confused by it as he stands on the top rope. The referee walks over to the ropes and tells Santino to go back to the announce table, but he argues with the ref as DiBiase stands back up and turns round to see Yang on top. DiBiase drops to his knees, possibly playing possum as Yang then turns back to face the ring to see DiBiase standing up again, looking groggy. The Japanese high flier leaps off the top for a missile dropkick, but DiBiase steps to the side, resulting in Yang crashing in to the deck to the obvious satisfaction of Santino on the outside. DiBiase reacts straight away by dragging Yang right back up and planting him with a little Dream Street (Cobra Clutch Slam). Yang isn’t moving as DiBiase hooks both legs for the cover, getting the 3 and the win.

WINNER: Ted DiBiase Jr by pinfall @ 5.11.

AFTERMATH: “Priceless” hits to heat from the crowd, and Santino slips inside the ring as DiBiase Jr gets his arm raised. He watches on with a grin as Santino starts stomping all over Yang, who is defenceless as he lies on the mat. All of a sudden, “Lambeg” hits as Finlay runs down the ramp with his shillelagh in hand. Finlay slides under the bottom rope and ducks a right hand from DiBiase, then levels him with the shillelagh to a massive pop from the crowd. Santino doesn’t give him the chance to attack him and clubs the Irishman across the back, but unbeknown to Santino, Hornswoggle climbs out from under the ring and is about to climb inside with Maryse watching on in horror. Melina gets up from the announce table and walks towards the apron, but as she grabs Hornswoggle’s foot, she lets go, looking disgusted at having touched him. It allows him to get in the ring and walk up behind Santino, and he bites him on the ass to the delight of the crowd. Santino jumps up and down inside the ring, holding his ass with both hands with Hornswoggle then low blowing him and sending the Italian down to the mat. He wriggles around as Melina & Maryse look on in shock as both their men lie across the mat with “Lambeg” hitting again to a big pop as Finlay drops to his knees and high fives Hornswoggle, evening the score from last week with DiBiase.

{Commercial Break}

“Booyaka 619”
blasts out to a massive pop as Rey Mysterio makes his way down to the ring. Once inside, he gets a microphone and says it’s good to be back, getting another pop from the crowd. He then says that it feels like a long time ago that he last stood in the ring, and that was at WrestleMania. He tells the fans that being hurt hasn’t been easy as all he’s thought about is how he didn’t win the Money in the Bank ladder match and how much he wanted to win it. He then says that as much as he wanted to win it, he accepts that he did all he could like he always does and gave it his best shot, but now that he’s back, he’s going to work his way back to once again becoming a world champion. He smiles as the fans cheer him, but all the smiles go as “Pure Control” hits to heat with Kenny Dykstra walking down to the ring. The youngster dressed in jeans and a shirt doesn’t look too happy at all as he climbs in the ring and picks up a microphone.

He says to Rey that he has something he wants to share with him, but it might be a little hard to take, and with Rey already not looking best pleased to see him, Dykstra tells him that quite frankly, no one cares that he’s back. The fans don’t agree and they boo Dykstra, who then tells Rey that all they care about is Kenny Dykstra and that he’s back where he belongs, on the A show as the “numero uno” as Rey would put it. Dykstra looks as if he’s being serious with Rey shaking his head in disbelief, but Dykstra tells him he’s deadly serious, and that as much as he likes Rey’s optimism, he has to be realistic. He then tells Rey that this might hurt, but he is only being honest with him, there’s no chance he will ever be a world champion again. Boos ring out with Dykstra looking to explain himself straight away, and he says that Rey’s one run was a fluke and a complete one off. He then tells Rey that he doesn’t have to look far to see someone who is destined to be a world champion in the future, and that man is Kenny Dykstra. The fans really aren’t taking to Dykstra, and neither is Rey as he tells Kenny to prove it. That goes down well with the crowd, and Kenny looks shocked as Rey then tells him to show him just how good he is in a match tonight.

More cheers break out, but Dykstra back tracks and tells the crowd that on any other night, he would have no problem in showing up Rey to be the fluke that he is, but he doesn’t want to ruin his big return and reinjure him when he’s not ready to step in to the ring with someone like him. Rey says that’s bull and calls him all mouth and no talk. Kenny laughs for a second before turning all serious and shoving Rey down to the mat to the disgust of the California faithful. A pissed off Mysterio gets right back up with Kenny laughing at him and they go face to face with Rey slapping Dykstra. Gasps ring out across the arena as Rey then ducks under a right hand and runs through in to the ropes. He stays there as Kenny charges right at him, and Rey Rey catches him with a drop toe hold on to the middle rope. The fans go nuts as Rey dials up for the 619, and he turns back to run the ropes, but as he races back and swings through for the 619, Dykstra pulls his head back and pulls himself under the bottom rope. Boos ring out as Rey watches an angry Kenny back track up the ramp. “Booyaka 619” plays once again as Kenny points and gestures angrily at Rey.

{Cut Backstage}

Kelly Kelly
is stretching in her locker room, dressed in her ring gear. With the crowd cheering her inside the arena, we then see the Intercontinental Champion, Kofi Kingston walk in to the room. He also gets a pop, and Kelly stops stretching to look up and smile as Kofi walks up to her and hugs her. He tells her that he wanted to come and wish her good luck for her match later on. Kelly thanks him, but she warns him that Cody might come back any minute because he only went to get her some water. The smile is wiped from Kofi’s face too, and he tells Kelly that Cody doesn’t deserve her, but Kelly cuts him off and says that she doesn’t need any trouble tonight. Kofi takes a couple of seconds before saying that he doesn’t want to cause her any trouble, he just wants to tell her “good luck”. She thanks him again before Kofi turns round and walks out of the room with the camera following him. As he turns right at the door, walks down the corridor and turns a corner, the camera pans to the left to show Cody Rhodes standing still with two bottles of water in his hand, and he doesn’t look to be in the best moods at the sight of Kofi walking away from Kelly’s dressing room.

World Tag Team Championship
Paul London & Brian Kendrick (c) vs John Morrison & The Miz

ENDING:
The Miz stands back up with a big smile on his face after dodging a cross body from Kendrick, looking very confident as one half of the champions starts to pick himself back up. The Miz slowly walks across to Kendrick and grabs him by the arm, then whips him hard in to the corner, still smiling. Kendrick hits the pads hard as The Miz takes his time before running in, and the delay helps Kendrick recover and lift his boot up in to The Miz’s face, sending him staggering out of the corner holding his face. With the crowd cheering, Kendrick follows him out and spins him round to pull him in to position for Sliced Bread. The fans cheer as Kendrick then runs in to the corner, runs up the ropes and connects with his finisher, driving The Miz’s head in to the mat. Kendrick scurries across the mat to make the cover as the fans rise to their feet, watching the ref make the count, and just as his hand comes down for 3, John Morrison makes the save, stomping on Kendrick’s head to stop the count. Boos ring out as London goes ballistic on the apron, but the referee orders a smug Morrison out straight away.

Both Kendrick & The Miz come round and attempt to crawl towards their respective corners as London gets the fans behind his partner, but as The Miz makes the tag to Morrison, Kendrick gets close to the outstretched hand of London. Morrison races across to drag Kendrick away from his corner, but Kendrick turns over on to his back and kicks his foot up in to Morrison’s face, sending The Shaman of Sexy down to the mat. He’s not down for long though and he rushes back up, dragging Kendrick away again and stomping him across the chest this time to make sure he doesn’t get away. Morrison then reaches down and pulls Kendrick back up, whipping him in to the ropes, but as he ducks his head, it allows Kendrick to run back and drive his boot up, levelling Morrison right in the face. His head snaps back up with Kendrick running back in to the ropes, coming back and taking Morrison down with a flying forearm.

It gets a big pop from the crowd, but as Morrison attempts to get back up and Kendrick turns back to run the ropes by his partner, London slaps him across the back for a blind tag, taking Kendrick by surprise. He is powerless as he watches London climb to the top rope and leap off for a diving cross body on Morrison. London hits it, but Kendrick remains in the ring, still baffled by the blind tag. The referee tells him to leave, and it gives The Miz the chance to enter the ring and stomp on the back of London’s head to stop any kind of cover. Kendrick sees it, but the ref doesn’t as Kendrick explodes and runs at The Miz, taking him down to the mat with a dropkick. The Miz rolls under the bottom rope, not looking too hurt as he sits back up on the outside to see his partner return to his feet behind Kendrick. And as Kendrick turns round, Morrison takes his head off with a Super Kick. Kendrick just falls in a heap as Morrison then turns back to drag the squirming London up to his feet and nail him with The Moonlight Drive (Corkscrew Neckbreaker). Morrison doesn’t waste any time in hooking both legs as the referee makes the count, getting to 3. We have new World Tag Team Champions!

WINNERS: By pinfall, and new World Tag Team Champions, John Morrison & The Miz @ 10.47.

AFTERMATH: “Ain’t No Make Believe” hits to a ton of heat as the referee collects the belts and then hands them over to the new champions with The Miz joining Morrison back in the ring. They lift their belts up in to the air before walking in to the corners and doing the same there before jumping down and hugging in the centre of the ring as Kendrick sits up looking angry. They then leave the ring and walk up the ramp, stopping at the top of the stage and turning round to pose with the titles once again.

Raw’s Executive Assistant, William Regal is in his and Eric Bischoff’s office, and is sat quite happily in Bischoff’s chair when the door is thrust open. Regal jumps out of the seat as The Colon Brothers & Eric Perez walk in to the room. Carlito certainly doesn’t look happy and he tells Regal that he wants to talk to Bischoff, but Regal tells him that Bischoff’s not here right now. Carlito says he can see that, but he and his brother have a problem that needs sorting out right now, seemingly angering Regal. He tells them that Bischoff’s isn’t the only one with power at his disposal, reminding them that Bischoff himself appointed him his Executive Assistant for such matters like these, and he then asks them exactly what their problem is as he may be able to resolve it for them. Eddie steps forward and says to Regal that if he’s just as much in charge as Bischoff, then maybe he can tell them what they’re going to do about those two ghetto wannabes, Cryme Time taking their clothes and selling them off last week. Regal tells him to calm down, and that he is aware of what happened last week.

Carlito cuts in and says that’s great ‘n all, but to cut to the chase ‘cos they don’t have all night. Regal says that manners don’t cost anything and that he doesn’t have to help them with their little problem, but since he values his own garments, he realises that the ghastly duo known as Cryme Time will be punished for their actions, because later on in the evening, they will take on the WWE Champion, Kane. Eddie says to Regal that he knows Kane’s a monster and all, but two on one isn’t fair. Regal then points out that only one member of the team will be allowed in the ring at any one time, but if that’s not acceptable to them, then maybe they would like to face Kane instead. Carlito puts his arm out across his brother’s chest with Perez still standing behind them as Carlito then tells Regal, “two on one. . . that’s cool”. He then says “let’s get out of here” as they all turn round and walk out with Regal muttering it was a pleasure doing business with them.

The Miz & John Morrison are walking through back with their new World Tag Team title belts resting on their shoulders, smiling like crazy. We then see Todd Grisham trying to catch up with them, shouting their names. The new champs hear him and turn round with Grisham walking right up to them, and The Miz tells him that they couldn’t be happier to see him. Todd looks surprised by that, and Morrison tells him not to worry because it is a good thing, just like the fact Raw has champions that will not degrade the credibility of the titles or the show. Morrison then says that just like he and The Miz vowed last week, they became the new World Tag Team Champions, and they’re going to go out and celebrate their hard earned success. He continues by telling us that they want to make it very clear to everyone that once the celebration of all celebrations is complete, he and The Miz, the new World Tag Team Champions will begin the challenge of bringing the prestige back to the titles that the former champions failed to do.

Just then, the sound of a door slamming not so far away is heard, and all three men in the shot turn round to see Brian Kendrick forcefully dragging his travel bag as he storms up the hall with his back to the new champs. Morrison & The Miz have a good laugh, and The Miz sarcastically says that it doesn’t seem like everyone’s in the party spirit before telling Todd that since it’s such a momentous occasion, even he could come join them on their much deserved celebration. Grisham is surprised again, and he tells them that if they’re sure, he’d love to. The Miz turns to Morrison and tells him that Todd bought it with the champs enjoying a little laugh at Grisham’s expense. Morrison then asks Grisham if he thought they were seriously going to ask him to join them at the party of the decade. Todd pauses for a second before saying “well, yeah”, but Morrison tells him there is something he can do, be jealous! The champs laugh at Grisham’s expense again as they walk out of the shot, leaving a downbeat Todd all alone.

***Match #3***

WWE Womens Championship
Victoria (c) vs Kelly Kelly w/Cody Rhodes

ENDING:
Victoria started the match on top with Kelly fighting for her life pretty much all the way through. With Kelly looking in real danger after a powerslam, Victoria stands back up and steadies herself before trying for a standing moonsault, but Kelly lifts her knees up in to the champion’s mid section. Cody punches the air on the outside as the fans cheer too with Kelly rolling towards the ropes while Victoria clutches her stomach. Slowly but surely, both divas make their way back up to their feet, and it’s Victoria who runs at Kelly who still stands by the ropes, holding on to them. The challenger sees Victoria coming and turns to lift her elbow in to the face of the champion, sending her staggering away from the ropes. As Victoria turns back round, Kelly runs at her and takes her down with a clothesline. It doesn’t do a lot of damage as the champ gets right back up, but Kelly levels her with another. Once again, Victoria gets straight back up with Kelly this time opting to whip her opponent in to the corner, but Victoria overpowers her, sending Kelly in to the pads instead.

Victoria runs right in at her, but Kelly steps out of the corner as Victoria runs right in to the pads. The champ turns round looking fairly dazed as Kelly runs in to the opposite corner before making her way back across to Victoria and hitting her with a handspring back elbow smash. That gets a big pop from the crowd, and as Victoria staggers out of the corner, Kelly waits patiently before the champion turns back to face her, and as she does that, she walks right in to a roundhouse kick from Kelly Kelly. Another big pop breaks out as Kelly then goes for the cover, hooking the closest leg only. The ref counts to 2, but just as his hand comes down for 3, Victoria places her free leg on to the bottom rope, and the ref sees it. Kelly is devastated as she turns to see Victoria’s foot on the rope, and Cody looks stunned too as he stands in his girlfriend’s corner. Kelly pulls herself back up to her knees, still looking upset at the two count, but as Victoria comes round and rolls on to her side, it prompts the challenger to get back on track.

Kelly stands back up and reaches down to pull Victoria back up. She grabs her wrist and looks to whip Victoria in to the ropes, and Cody sees the idea as he stands opposite them. As Kelly then goes for the whip, Cody turns to the side, but he doesn’t see Victoria reverse the whip, and as Kelly hits the ropes, Cody unintentionally grabs Kelly’s foot. He plays the innocent as he looks in to the crowd, but as Kelly yells at him, he turns round in surprise and tries to apologise. Victoria walks across, and as Kelly turns round, Victoria capitalises with a savote kick to the face. It looks to be all over as she drops to her knees and goes for the cover, but Kelly just lifts her shoulder up at the count of 2, leaving Cody very relieved on the outside. Kelly’s not out of the woods though as she lies helplessly on the mat, and Victoria doesn’t mess about. She stands right back up and drags Kelly to her feet before setting her up for The Widow’s Peak. Kelly can’t escape, and Victoria nails it, then turns her over to make the inevitable three count and retain her title.

WINNER: By pinfall, and still the WWE Womens Champion, Victoria @ 8.33.

AFTERMATH: “Ain’t The Lady to Mess With” hits with Victoria being passed the belt and leaving straight away as Cody slips in to the ring to check on Kelly. She remains pretty out of it, barely coming round as Kofi Kingston walks down the ramp and past Victoria. He enters the ring and pulls Cody up from his knees before yelling at him, pointing to the ropes where he grabbed Kelly’s foot before. Cody yells back at Kofi as Kelly starts to move around and sit up. Things start to get heated between Kofi & Cody though as they go face to face with Cody talking smack at his former friend and current Intercontinental Champion. Cody then pushes Kofi and stares at him, goading him in to a reaction, but it doesn’t look like Kofi is going to. Cody walks closer to him and talks smack again, and this time he angers Kofi, who shoves him hard in the chest.

As Cody is pushed back, Kelly is just standing back up behind him, but she is sent right back down to the mat as Cody’s back meets her chest and face. Gasps are heard from the crowd as Kofi looks horrified, and Cody turns round slowly, not seeming to want to look as he then sees Kelly lying motionless on the mat. He drops to his knees to check on her as Kofi holds his face in his hands, and after about ten seconds, he walks over and tries to check on her. Her eyes are open and she just looks groggy, but Cody stands up and yells at Kofi, shoving him against the ropes and pointing down at Kelly to remind him what he just did. Kofi looks remorseful and he decides to leave the ring, walking up the ramp but turning back to see Kelly being helped up in to a sitting position by Cody, who just stares back angrily at Kofi.

“Turn up the Treble”
hits to a big pop from the crowd as Mr. Kennedy walks out to the stage with a big smile on his face. Dressed in jeans and a T-shirt, he makes his way down to the ring and collects a microphone. He sarcastically tells the Anaheim crowd that he’s not one to boast, but he thought it was only right to share this moment with everyone. He then says that he realises some people might not exactly be up to speed with recent events, but he tells them that he’s come prepared and that they should turn their attention to the beautiful tron to witness a beautiful moment. We then see the finale to last week’s show with Mr. Kennedy defeating Randy Orton in the Quest to be Champion match after a steel chair rebounded in to Orton’s skull off the ropes and The Mic Check that followed. Back to Kennedy, and he’s smiling like no tomorrow and says “sweet huh?” He then says that he not only defeated another former world champion, but he managed to wipe the smug look off of Randy Orton’s face for the second time in two nights. He quickly points out though that last Monday was sweeter as he not only beat Orton in the middle of this ring, but he took himself one step closer to becoming the WWE Champion.

That gets a pop, but Kennedy’s smile goes as he becomes a little serious, admitting that the last couple of years haven’t been the easiest with injuries on top of injuries, but he wants everyone to know that as of right now, Mr. Kennedy is back, he means business and he wants the WWE Championship around his waist. A big pop breaks out, but it’s also met by “Voices” as a very intense Randy Orton walks down the ramp, glaring at Kennedy. The casually dressed Orton climbs through the ropes and picks up a microphone of his own before walking up to Kennedy and staring him in the face for several seconds before taking a couple of paces back. The Legend Killer then tells Kennedy that he’s going to let him have that moment, but he wants him to know one very important thing, it’s only going to be that one moment. Kennedy’s smile has definitely gone now as he stares back at Orton, who tells him that we’ve heard it all before, all this promise about Mr. Kennedy becoming a world champion. He then asks Kennedy where all this promise led to, but he doesn’t let KK answer the question by quickly saying that it went absolutely nowhere.

He tells Kennedy that he had it all, he was knocking off world champion after world champion, and that he when he got the chance to become the World Heavyweight Champion, he blew it. Kennedy stares back with the crowd booing as Orton continues, telling him that there was more promise, but then says that it should really have been false hope because yet again it led absolutely nowhere. Orton carries on to say that they both fought for the same shot at Wrestlemania 23, Money in the Bank, and it was Kennedy who grabbed the chance ahead of him, the thing he wanted more than anything else in the world, but Kennedy took it away from him. He then asks Kennedy what happened, and tells him straight away, once again, he blew it, he blew the opportunity that they both fought for and accuses Kennedy of ruining his dream last year like he ruined it at Backlash and like he did last week. Orton gets real hot, and he tells Kennedy straight that he’s sick of it, and that last week was the last time Kennedy will ever stand in his way of becoming the WWE Cha. . . Kennedy cuts Orton off and tells Orton it’s funny because we’ve heard all this before and that he should give it rest.

Orton looks stunned and angry as Kennedy then tells him that he lost the WWE Championship and he suggests he does what everyone else has done. . . deal with it. The fans cheer loudly for Kennedy, who then says that when he says deal with it, he doesn’t mean kick the first person you see in the head, because that might just come back and bite you in the ass. With Orton staring intently at him, Kennedy says that he guesses he didn’t him to tell him that since Orton’s stood there empty handed, and he himself is one step closer to blowing another chance as Orton would put it. A twisted smirk appears on Kennedy’s face, and he moves on to say that since Orton’s not in the best of the moods, he’s willing to cut him a little slack. He then tells Orton that he knows how he works and thinks, and then asks him if he’s dying to return the favour, because the way he sees it is that he’ll be in his next match to get to the King of the Ring and fight for the WWE Championship when out of nowhere, The Legend Killer strikes again and takes that chance away from him. Orton shows signs of a smile, but Kennedy says that the idea of being screwed over doesn’t exactly work for him, and that’s why he has a proposition for Orton.

The Legend Killer looks confused, but Kennedy tells Orton as much as he hates his guts, he knows how to make this work for the both of them. Orton listens carefully as Kennedy says that if Orton stays out of his way, he gets to the King of the Ring and becomes the WWE Champion, he’ll make sure Orton is first in line for a shot. Orton looks like he’s pondering it as Kennedy then asks him how he feels about that, and tells him that all he has to do is fight every urge in his self obsessed body, and then asks him if he thinks he can do that. Still looking very serious, Orton says that everyone knows he will do whatever it takes to become the WWE Champion once again, but he wants to make something perfectly clear, he will do it on his own terms as he does what he decides and not what others like Kennedy tell him. It doesn’t go down well with Kennedy who looks at Orton with The Legend Killer saying that if he goes along with this idea, it will be his decision and his only. Kennedy isn’t satisfied and tells him if he wants it that way, it’s fine, but if Orton’s telling home truths, he might as well get in on the act.

He tells Orton he has one for him, and that is as long as he is here and able, Randy Orton will never be the WWE Champion. Orton smirks again and seems to find it funny as he turns to see the crowd cheering, but as he turns back, he shocks everyone by nailing Kennedy out of nowhere with an RKO. The fans boo like crazy, and just as Orton is about to leave the ring, Eric Bischoff walks out to the stage with a microphone in hand. He says to Orton that it’s pretty clear he wants to get his hands on Mr. Kennedy once again, but he didn’t need to do what he just did. Orton stands back looking confused as Bischoff says that he was about to come out here anyway and tell them of a little idea of his, and that is in the main event tonight, we are going to see Randy Orton team up with Kenny Dykstra to take on the team of Rey Mysterio and Mr. Kennedy. A massive pop echoes around the arena while Orton stares back at Bischoff as “I’m Back” hits with Kennedy coming round behind Orton.

{Cut Backstage}

Santino Marella & Melina
walk out of what appears to be the medic’s room with Melina turning back to thank the doctor before the door shuts. As they walk down the hall, Santino looks a little angry as he tells Melina that he is going to have another talk with Mr. Bischoff about that little green dwarf. He then says that thanks to that irritating little creature, he has a bruise on his beautiful bottom, causing Melina to chuckle slightly. He stops walking and turns to her, asking her if she thinks it’s funny that a little green dwarf has bruised his perfect, peachy behind. Melina giggles again and she can’t speak, angering Santino, who says it is not funny and asks her how she would like it if it happened to her. A different voice is heard saying that she thinks Melina would love it. Melina & Santino turn to the side to see Natalya Neidhart leaning against one of the door frames with the door wide open. She then walks away from it with the door shutting behind her, walking up to Melina and telling her that she’s heard a lot of the guys have spent some time with Melina and her “you know what”. Melina doesn’t look happy to see her at all and asks Natalya why she’s bothering her and if last week wasn’t enough for her. Natalya stares angrily at Melina and walks even closer to her, right in front of her face with Santino standing to the side.

Neidhart then tells Melina to think back to Backlash and says that if it wasn’t for her losing to Kelly Kelly, it would have been her (Natalya) facing Victoria night and becoming the new Women’s Champion, but because of Melina, she’s not. Santino tries to act big and protect his woman by stepping between the two divas and tells Natalya that she’s made her point, but Neidhart stares menacingly back at him. The Italian looks worried and says “okay, maybe not” before standing back and telling her to carry on. Melina looks disappointedly at Santino before turning back to hear Natalya tell her that she holds her responsible for not getting a shot at the Women’s Championship, and that she won’t forget it any time soon. The two divas stare intensely at each other for a couple of seconds before a deadly serious Natalya Neidhart steps away, turns back round and walks away with Melina staring a hole through her. Santino looks on and asks Melina if she wants to go back to the hotel and give his bottom a nice rub, but Melina looks at him in disgust before walking away and leaving Santino on his own, saying to himself that it’s not too much to ask. He then shouts her name out and tries to catch up with her as the camera fades out.

Leticia Cline
is standing by outside Evolution’s locker room. She says that she hopes to get a few words with Triple H about his match later on tonight with The Big Show in the Quest to be Champion tournament. She then turns round to knock on the door, and after a couple of seconds, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair walks out and shuts the door behind him, then asks Leticia how she’s doing. She says she’s fine but she was hoping to talk to Triple H, but Flair says that he’s busy getting ready for his match. Leticia then asks Flair if he doesn’t mind answering a few questions about tonight’s match, and he says that he would be happy to, anything for a beautiful woman like herself. Leticia smiles and then asks Flair how Triple H is feeling about having to face The Big Show in the first round of the tournament, but Flair quickly cuts in. He tells her that the title shot at the end of the tunnel isn’t important for Hunter, all he cares about is getting even with The McMahon’s & The Big Show. He then says that after what they did to his son Reid at Backlash, he too wants a piece of them, but he’s going to follow Eric Bischoff’s wishes.

He says he’s happy sitting back and waiting for that time to come, because when it does, it will be worth it as he will teach every single one of The McMahon family and their hired help a valuable lesson, you don’t screw over Evolution. Leticia then asks Flair if he has any light to shed on the rumours about a problem between Triple H & Batista, and she also says that she’s tried to get a comment from Batista, but she can’t find him anywhere. Flair says that there’s a reason for that, it’s because Dave isn’t here tonight. He then says that he’s heard all the rumours himself and that it’s total crap, saying that there is no problem, it’s just The Corporation trying to cause trouble like they always do. He takes a short pause before saying that there will be trouble tonight however for The Big Show, because Triple H is going to beat the holy hell out of him for everything The McMahon’s have done, and once Hunter’s finished, The Nature Boy himself will be next in line to get his hands on them and do the exact same thing, finishing with a “WOO”. It gets a big pop from inside the arena and Leticia thanks Ric, and he says it’s no problem before going back in to the locker room.

Handicap Match
Cryme Time vs Kane w/Paul Bearer

ENDING:
Kane has controlled things for the most part with a brief Shad assault the only blip. With Shad taking a stiff boot to the face, Kane shows some form of mercy as he allows him to crawl across and make the tag to the reluctant JTG. He slowly climbs through the ropes and stares worryingly at the dangerous WWE Champion. He then gives in to fear and charges at him, sliding through his legs and running through in to the ropes, and as he comes back off the ropes, he dives at Kane. The champion holds on to him and tosses him overhead with a fallaway slam. Paul Bearer smiles on the outside as Kane returns to his feet and opts to walk in to the corner, climbing up to the top rope. With JTG slowly standing back up, he turns round to see Kane leaping off the top to nail him with a flying clothesline.

The Big Red Machine stands back up, and JTG isn’t that far behind him, but he isn’t all there as he turns round in to a big chokeslam from Kane. Shad just about stands back up on the apron and sees his partner hit the mat, but he then has something else to deal with as The Colon Brothers race down the ramp with Eric Perez remaining on the stage. Carlito & Eddie grab all the bling JTG & Shad placed in their corner before the match, and the brothers run right back up the ramp with it as Shad jumps down off the apron, looking extremely pissed as Kane signals the end for his partner in the ring. Kane reaches down to drag JTG back up, and he scoops him up on to his shoulder for the Tombstone Piledriver. He gets all of it too, driving JTG down to the mat and getting the win as Shad remains distracted by Carlito & Eddie.

WINNER: Kane by pinfall @ 5.07.

AFTERMATH: “Burned” blasts out as Kane stands up and sets his pyro off with The Colon’s & Perez laughing at the top of the ramp with the bling in hand. Bearer joins Kane in the ring and straps the WWE Championship around him before applauding him.

Eric Bischoff & William Regal are walking down the hall, and they stop at a door with the name of The Corporation on it. Bischoff tells Regal he’ll take care of this, quietly agitating Regal somewhat before walking in. Dressed in his ring gear, The Big Show is lifting weights in both hands as JBL, Shane & Vince McMahon all watch on, sitting down on a leather sofa. JBL stands up, taking offence to Bischoff’s presence and he asks him if he ever heard of knocking, but Vince tells his son not to worry about that and to sit down. Vince stands up and walks up to Bischoff & Regal, telling them to admire the sight of The Big Show, saying that he’s not just the largest athlete in the world, he’s the most dangerous and dominating superstar ever to step foot in a wrestling ring, something that Triple H should be aware of before he is crushed later on tonight. Show smirks as he listens, still lifting the weights though as Bischoff then says that’s what he came to talk about. He tells Vince that he wants to make it crystal clear that when The Big Show meets Triple H later on tonight, there is to be absolutely no interference from him or his sons, reminding them that it’s not just Evolution that are barred from ringside.

Shane leans forward on the sofa and tells Bischoff that he has nothing to worry about, they won’t be getting involved because there is no reason for them to, and that if anyone should be worried, it’s Triple H, and not just because Batista isn’t here to help him lace up is boots. Everyone in the room bar Bischoff chuckles at that comment, and The Big Show then drops the weights on the floor to a big thud, unnerving Regal slightly. Show tells Bischoff that like Shane said, they’re not going to help him out because they don’t need to as he is more than capable of ending Triple H’s career all by himself tonight. Bischoff looks round at them all before saying that they better make sure they don’t. It’s met with smug smiles but no words from The Corporation with Bischoff & Regal then leaving the room. Vince walks up to the door and makes sure they’ve gone before turning back and saying that it looks like it’s time to execute part 2 of their plan, but Show says that he doesn’t think they need to. Vince agrees and says they don’t need to, it’s just something he wants to do. Show grins and says that’s fine, and Vince then says that it’s going to be a fun night.

***Match #5***

Rey Mysterio & Mr. Kennedy vs Randy Orton & Kenny Dykstra

ENDING:
Orton sits up with a sick smile on his face having countered a whip attempt from Kennedy in to an inverted headlock backbreaker. The Legend Killer takes his time in shimmying across to go for a cover, but Kennedy kicks out comfortably at 2. That doesn’t set well with the former WWE Champion, but he makes his way back up to his feet, looking extremely focused as Kennedy rolls on to his side. Orton doesn’t let his opponent stand up for himself, pulling him up and driving his forearm in to Kennedy’s face, knocking him on to his back foot. With Kennedy being unsteady on his feet, Orton grabs his arm and whips him in to the ropes, and as Kennedy bounces back, Orton connects with a perfectly executed standing dropkick. He stands back up with a supreme look of arrogance on his face before walking back in to the ropes and coming back to drive a jumping knee in to the upper body of Mr. Kennedy. Again he looks to follow up with a cover, but Kennedy kicks out again leaving Orton even more frustrated. Instead of standing back up, Orton slides back across the mat and urges Kennedy to get back up, lying in wait to nail him with the RKO. With the crowd trying to warn Kennedy as he makes his way back up, Orton repeatedly bangs his hands in to the mat as he prepares to finish Kennedy off.

As Kennedy gets to his feet and slowly turns round, Orton leaps up and looks to hit the RKO, but Kennedy pushes him in to the ropes and kicks him in the gut as he comes back before planting him with a Snap DDT. That gets a huge pop from the crowd, but Kennedy isn’t able to take advantage as both lie motionless on the mat. It takes several seconds before they both start to crawl slowly towards their respective corners, and it’s Orton who gets closer first and makes the tag to Dykstra. And just as Dykstra climbs through the ropes and runs towards Kennedy, the Green Bay native reaches up to tag in Rey Mysterio. The Master of the 619 races in to the ring to a huge pop from the crowd with Kenny putting the breaks on. Rey charges at him and ducks an outstretched arm, runs through off the ropes and connects with a springboard cross body. Dykstra pushes him off at the count of 2 as both men hurry back up with Kenny running right in to Mysterio and tilt-a-whirl head scissors. The crowd get right behind Rey as he stands back up and runs in to the corner, climbing to the top rope. He points to the ceiling before leaping off and connecting with a Frog Splash. The fans rise to their feet as Rey hooks the legs and the ref makes the count, but Orton races in to the ring and pulls Rey off of Kenny before the 3.

The fans don’t like that one bit, and neither does Kennedy. He climbs through the ropes straight away, and Orton holds his hands up, backing away from him. Kennedy calms down and turns back to walk in to his corner, but Orton runs at him from behind and clubs him across the back, knocking him down to the mat before stomping across his back three times. Kennedy lies still as Orton smirks before turning round to see Rey getting up by the ropes, and he runs right at Mysterio, who drops to his knees and pulls the top rope down, resulting in Orton falling to the outside. The fans cheer again, but as Rey turns round, he sees Dykstra running at him too, but he reacts quickly again with a drop toe hold. Dykstra lands on the middle rope with Rey then dialling up to the delight of the California crowd. He runs back in to the ropes, races back across and connects with the 619 to a massive pop. He holds on to the top rope as he stands on the apron waiting for Kenny to get back up, and it doesn’t take long. With Rey taking his eyes off of Orton, the former WWE Champion grabs a steel chair from the side of Lilian Garcia. He walks back to the apron and drives the chair in to the back of Rey’s legs just as he springboards, causing the referee to disqualify him and Dykstra as Rey falls flat on his face.

WINNERS: Rey Mysterio & Mr. Kennedy by DQ @ 8.47.

AFTERMATH: Orton enters the ring with a steel chair as Kennedy is coming round, but Eric Bischoff walks out to the stage and tells him to hold on right there. He tells Orton if he wants to avoid a suspension, he better drop the chair and go to the back right now. Regrettably he does just that, walking up the ramp and angrily brushing past Bischoff, who says Orton did the right thing, not like Dykstra. With Kenny standing by the ropes and Rey sitting up, Bischoff says that he has to deal with the actions that just ruined one of his main events, and he says that he has the solution in mind. He tells Kenny that he’s developed quite an ego since joining Raw, and that he’s going to do something that may be unpopular and give him a chance to become a WWE Champion. Boos ring out, but Bischoff says that he’s not giving him a title shot just like that, he’s going to have to earn it by competing in the Quest to be Champion tournament. Kenny likes that and smiles as Rey stands up, but Bischoff then says that his opportunity will be next week, against Rey Mysterio. That gets a massive pop as Rey looks towards Kenny smiling with “I’m Back” hitting to a pop, leaving the two men staring at each other.

Quest To Be Champion First Round Match
Triple H vs The Big Show

ENDING:
A real slobber knocker as JR would put it with both men going all out on each other, but The Big Show has looked very impressive on his return. With Triple H struggling as he returns to his feet, Show grabs him by the back of the head before driving his own head in to the forehead of The Game, sending him right back down to the mat. The 7 footer looks to inflict some more damage to his opponent as he drops a big elbow across the upper chest of Triple H. Even the referee winces before dropping to his knees to make the count, but he only gets to 2 as The Game lifts his shoulder up off the mat. Show doesn’t seem surprised, and he makes his way back up to a vertical base. He then steps back in to the ropes and comes back, this time looking for a leg drop, but HHH rolls to the side, dodging a significant bullet. It’s met with a cheer from the crowd, but Show looks to get right back up, and he’s ahead of Triple H.

With The King of Kings only getting up to his knees, The Big Show looks to get back in control, but as he tries to pull his opponent up, The Game fights back with a right hand to the gut of the giant, and he follows up with another, taking Show by surprise. It allows Triple H to stand back up, but he makes the mistake of trying for an irish whip with Show reversing it straight away. As The Game comes back off the ropes, Show makes a mistake by ducking his head, allowing Triple H to come back and nail him with a face buster knee smash. Show’s head snaps back up and The Game looks for The Pedigree instantly, kicking Show in the gut and pulling his head in to position. The Game tries to get a hold of Show’s arms, but the big man fights it and lifts Triple H overhead with a back body drop. Show drops to his knees momentarily as The Game rolls around on his back. Show takes his time standing back up, and once he’s up, he spots Triple H slowly getting back up too, and Show just smiles and looks on.

As The Game then stands back up, he walks out in to the hands of the giant who grabs him around the throat for a chokeslam. Triple H fights it and kicks him in the stomach, but the grip remains in tact. The Game sees the referee standing by his side, and he reaches out to grab him. Show doesn’t like that at all and he pushes them both down with HHH falling to the side for a dominoes effect. As both HHH and the ref stand back up, Show looks ready to explode as he then moves towards HHH and lifts his boot up in the direction of The Game’s face. Triple H ducks it though, and the referee walks right in to it as he stands back up but ultimately falls right back down to the mat. Show looks down in shock, but HHH likes what he sees as he drops to his knees behind the giant and low blows him, driving his arm in to the groin region of The Big Show. A big pop meets that as Triple H stands back up with a look of intent in his eyes, walking to the ropes and climbing through them to jump down to the floor below.

He turns round to look under the apron, and as he reaches underneath, he pulls out his trusty sledgehammer to a huge roar from the crowd. With Show still lying across the mat, Triple H lifts the deadly weapon high up in to the air before sliding back in to the ring. He stands several feet away from The Big Show as the big man starts to sit up, but the camera switches to show a very tall man, not as tall as Show though walking down the steps in the crowd. He looks very serious indeed, dressed in black trousers and black polo shirt with the initials USSR printed red on the sleeves. It looks to be the same guy who appeared on TV a couple of years ago sat at ringside, Vladimir Kozlov. He catches Triple H’s attention, and Kozlov gets closer to the ring and he steps over the barricade, shoving a couple of security workers to the side. He climbs in to the ring as HHH looks utterly confused. Kozlov walks over to The Game, who just turns and stares at him for several seconds before deciding to swing the sledgehammer at him, but Kozlov grabs it with one arm, taking it from him.

Triple H isn’t happy one bit, and as he tries to grab it back having turned his back on his opponent, The Big Show is up and he clubs The Game across the back, knocking him to his knees. It doesn’t take long for him to stand back up, but Show steps back and nods at Kozlov, who lifts the hammer up and smashes it in to the skull of The Game, causing him to collapse in a heap. Show smirks as Kozlov stares down with a sick look of satisfaction on his face, but with the referee coming round, Kozlov leaves the ring and drops the sledgehammer on the floor as he gets there with Show reaching down and grabbing HHH by the throat. He maintains the grip and pulls Triple H up to his feet, but he is helpless to defend himself as The Big Show lifts him up in to the air and plants him with a chokeslam. It looks elementary as Show drops to his knees and goes for the cover as the referee slowly crawls across to make the delayed but inevitable 3 count.

WINNER: The Big Show by pinfall @ 12.09.

AFTERMATH: “Crank It Up” hits to a chorus of boos from inside the arena with Ric Flair running down to the ring and checking on Triple H as The Big Show gets his arm raised. Show walks across to Flair with the two of them standing chest to chest with this other scary looking individual watching on. We then see the rest of The Corporation walk out to the stage and applaud, and Vince gestures for them to retreat from the ring. Both Show & the hired gun back away from Flair and leave the ring to join Vince, Shane & JBL at the top of the stage, allowing Flair to check on his buddy. When Show & the ever so familiar face get to the top of the stage, they stand alongside their fellow corporation members as an angry Triple H sits up, staring towards them with Flair, watching on as The Corporation then raise their arms in to the air and smile as the show comes to a close.

Raw Review

Jimmy Wang Yang vs. Ted DiBiase Jr:
So Ted won, nothing surprising there. Santino didn’t get involved, but I was expecting something from Ted’s father. Well, maybe later. So Santino starts beating on Yang, but Finlay makes the save. I’m predicting a tag team match in an another show.

Rey Mysterio/ Kenny Dykstra Segment:
I don’t know why, but I bought into the segment, and I really wanted Rey to kick Kenny’s ass. He almost got to do it, so maybe a feud will come out of this, or maybe they’ll meet in the Quest to be Champion tournament.

Kelly Kelly/ Kofi Kingston Segment:
So I guess that Cody gets more and more jealous on Kofi, but I still don’t know where Kelly is standing in all of this, she shows some sympathy for Kofi, but she doesn’t openly say that she likes him more than Cody. I’m really looking forward to see what are you going to do with this situation.

Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs John Morrison & The Miz:
Wow, a finisher this early in the match? I guess Morrison will make the save, and he does. A blind tag by London? Hmmm… maybe you’re considering breaking them up. And Morrison hits the Moonlight Drive, and we have ourselves new tag team champions. I guess that you’re gonna split Paul and Brian. But I don’t know who will turn heel, it could be Paul, thinking that he’s overshadowed by Brian, or it could be Brian, saying that Paul is trying to become the leader.

William Regal/ The Colons Segment:
Well, William is sure enjoying himself in Eric Bischoff’s chair. And I don’t know if he jumped up because he was surprised, or because he was thinking that Bischoff is going to catch him sitting in his chair, maybe trying to become the GM of Raw. And what a match, Kane vs. Cryme Tyme! Cryme Tyme is going to get destroyed.

The Miz and John Morrison/ Todd Grisham Interview:
Wow, aren’t Miz and Morrison in a good mood, they actually aren’t putting down Todd, but here it comes, and yes, they did put down Grisham, but it was partially his fault. Who did he think he was, trying to hang out with the “Chick Magnet” and with the “Shaman of Sexy”?

Victoria vs Kelly Kelly:
I don’t think that Kelly is ready to become champion, and by the looks of it, you don’t either. Victoria gets the win, and what the hell is Kofi doing there? He’s just going to make things worse, and he does. He actually hurts Kelly, what a bad man. But seriously, just Cody is going to buy that, Kelly Kelly will forgive Kofi.

Mr. Kennedy/ Randy Orton/ Eric Bischoff Segment:
So, Mr. Kennedy comes out, promoting himself as the next WWE Champion, and I’m interested to see if Kennedy is going to win the title, or even get to the finals. Randy comes out, and an interesting proposal from Mr. Kennedy there, and I’m shocked that Randy didn’t accept it, well I guess that Randy wants to ruin Kennedy’s chances of being champion, maybe even after punting him once again, and WOW! An RKO out of nowhere, I didn’t expect this to escalate into a fight, but it did. So, the Main Event is set, and I guess Orton’s team is gonna lose.

Santino Marella/ Melina/ Natalya Segment:
I agree with Melina, Santino getting bit by Hornswoggle was funny, I don’t care what Santino says. What is Natalya doing there? Oh, she’s just there to remind Melina that it’s hers fault that she didn’t face Victoria tonight. And Santino is scared by Natalya, but I don’t blame him, I would be too.

Leticia Cline/ Ric Flair Interview:
So, Triple H is too busy to give an interview, go figure. Anyway, Ric seems confident in himself, and in Evolution. And these rumors about a misunderstanding between Triple H and Batista, where did they come from? And I’m thinking that wherever did they come from, they’re bull.

Cryme Time vs Kane:
Well, it was obvious that Kane was gonna win here, and I’m glad that it was a total squash, and I guess that that’s what Kane’s going to be doing ‘till King of the Ring, since all the Main Event guys are feuding with someone.

The Corporation/William Regal and Eric Bischoff Segment:
The Corporation looks as confident as ever, even after Bischoff tells them that there will be no interference in the match later on. So I guess they’re sure that the Big Show is going to dispose them of Triple H, even without the part 2 of their plan, which leads me to this, what is the part 2 of their plan? Is it a most cunning plan, or is it something stupid, and they’re going to get their asses kicked by Evolution. I think, and hope that it’s the first one, well we’re just going to have to wait and see.

Rey Mysterio & Mr. Kennedy vs Randy Orton & Kenny Dykstra:
Well, it ended in disqualification, which was kinda the logical thing to do, not wanting neither team to lose credibility, and Randy gets out of the ring, on Bischoff’s order, which was again, the logical thing to do, but this time, by Randy Orton, not wanting to be suspended. And you gave Kenny a match in the Quest to be Champion tournament. Fair enough, but I guess anyone who is anyone will be in the tournament, so why not Kenny.

Triple H vs The Big Show:
If this was in 2001/2, this would be a championship match, which it isn’t, it would be the Main Event, which it is, but Triple H would be the heel, and the Big Show would be the face. But that doesn’t matter, because this is the present, and this starts of as any Big Show match. The Big Show dominates after a few headbutts, an elbow and a cover, but Trips kicks out, and I think this is where the match really starts. Triple H, tries to take the early win, with the Pedigree, but the Big Show fights out of it, and hits the referee. Very heelish behavior by the Game here, but he’s always been a bit heel. So Vladimir Kozlov makes his debut, attacking Triple H. He destroyed Triple H the only way a monster could, and Big Show gets the win, and I think that we now know what part 2 was.

Overall: I’ll just say what’s on my mind right now, a great show, but again, too little Kane, too much Cody Rhodes, but I understand that you’re trying to build up the Cody/Kofi feud some more. My ranking is: 8,5/10

J-Coke RAW Review

Jimmy Wang Yang/ Ted Dibiase: Didn't really understand how this match could have been non-title, since the challenger usually wins a non-title match, but back to the action. You had a decent run-in with Finlay, then Santino. I think it could have worked if Finlay costed Dibiase the match. Santino getting bitten by Finlay was funny.

Rey/Kenny Dykstra Segment: Nice to see some Kenny progress. I can see him turn into a major player in this BTB and his fued with Rey can do that. The feud is going to shape up nicely.

KK/Kofi/Cody: This is getting personal, but does Cody have to walk in each time Kelly Kelly is in a segment. It's kinda getting repetitive. Anyways, it's a good way to continue the fued where Kelly Kelly decides who she loves.

Londrick/Miz & Morrison: An action packed match where Miz & Morrison become champions (Finally!) and I see that Londrick will be splitting up. I wonder who ends up as the bigger star though?

Regal/Colons: Oooooo, Regal is going to be the heel GM. Having Cryme Tyme face the WWE Champion Kane was a bit random, but it will be entertaining.

Miz & Morrison backstage: Typical celebration from a new heel champion(s) Let's see if Brian Kendrick storming out will lead to something.

Victoria/Kelly Kelly: Having Cody running-in would make sense, but Kelly still ended up losing. The shoving fight between Cody and Kofi made things interesting.

Orton/Kennedy in ring segment: A great promo by two men that ended with an RKO surprisingly. It was building for a match later tonight.

Santino/Melina/Natalya: Natalya called Melina out and it was funny that Santino didn't have enough balls to stand up for Melina.

Flair/Leticia: I think Triple H would have said the same if he took Flair's place, but it makes the match more important by having HHH focused instead of speaking.

Jeff Hardy Returns: I can't say that I'm happy that he'll be back, but he brings star power.

Kane/Cryme Tyme: A squash for Kane, making him stronger as champion. Carlito & Perez laughing at Cryme Tyme makes them even more angrier.

Corportion backstage: I've always liked the name of Corporation and it's back! Basically, some more build for later on and showing Big Show's dominance. Nothing wrong with that.

Orton & Dykstra/Rey & Kennedy: The DQ finish was the way to go because no one can afford to be pinned. I hope Dykstra doesn't lose momentum IF he loses to Rey!

HHH/Big Show: Now I see that you don't have the run-in victory from the first match, because you have it here. The Corportation looks stronger than ever and Evolution is falling apart. I don't think we really need another member of The Corporation, plus it's Kozlov (Ugh!).

Overall, you had some good matches. I like that we're having King of the Ring and at least 2 matches on the show can main event the show. Promos were good enough because each had a purpose. Another really good show!

“If You Rock Like Me”

***PYRO***

“Sexy Boy” blasts out to a huge pop with the World Heavyweight Champion, Shawn Michaels walking down to the ring. Dressed in casual clothes and with the title over his shoulder, The Heartbreak Kid looks very subdued compared to usual. He looks like he has something on his mind as he wanders across the ring to collect a microphone without acknowledging the crowd. He walks back in to the centre of the ring and looks in to the crowd for a couple of seconds with no real emotion on his face before saying that last week, through no fault of his own, he was chokeslammed by The Undertaker. A mixed reception meets that, and Michaels says that he’s come out here to set the record straight. He then tells the crowd that he was talking things over with his cousin (Michael Shane) on the way to the arena today about what he wanted to say tonight, and he was told by his cousin that what he planned to say might give the impression that he is scared of The Undertaker. He quickly points out that is not the case, he just wants to come out here and tell it like it is, and since he’s setting the record straight, personally he can’t wait to go head to head with the dead man and put on a match for the ages like only he and the phenom can, regardless of whether people think he’s intimidated by him or not.

That gets some cheers from the crowd, and the World Champion continues to say that he wants The Undertaker to know that he did not hit him with the steel chair during their match last week, and that he assumes by now that the dead man is aware of that. He goes on to explain that he knows the significance of his match with The Undertaker at Judgment Day and what it would mean to walk out with his head held high with a clean victory, and that is why he wouldn’t jeopardise what could be one of the greatest matches in the history of this business. With the crowd cheering again, Michaels says that he can understand why some people might be questioning his motives right now, but he explains that he’s at a stage in his career when all that matters is making every moment count and creating an even greater legacy for himself, not doing whatever it takes by any means necessary because that Shawn Michaels died a long time ago. Michaels remains very serious as he then says that he can see why Taker thought he hit him last week after all they’ve been through in the past, but the fact is that he respects The Undertaker and all his accomplishments, which is why he would like for the dead man himself to make his way down to the ring so he can tell him that face to face.

Michaels lowers the microphone from his mouth, and after five seconds of waiting around, a gong hits, followed by “Deadman’s Symphony” plays to a massive pop as The Undertaker slowly walks down to the ring. Michaels looks the ever menacing dead man in the face and tells him that a lot of people have the right to doubt his sincerity, but if anyone knows The Heartbreak Kid, it’s The Undertaker. He tells the phenom that despite their battles, he has nothing but the greatest respect for everything he’s accomplished in his career, and for making him raise his own game at WrestleMania. He continues to say that everything he said before was hollow if he didn’t say it when looking in to the eyes of the man himself, and that’s why he asked him down here. He then tells The Undertaker that at Judgment Day, he wants the best man to win, and that’s why he would not hit him with a steel chair, because there is too much at stake even without the World Championship being on the line. HBK remains deadly serious as he says that if he wanted to go down the selfish route and win by all costs, he would have done that the moment The Undertaker earned the title shot, but he didn’t.

He says that everybody in the arena is looking at the two absolute best this company has and ever will produce, and that is why at Judgment Day, he wants to win for himself, for his family and for his legacy, to look back and remember the night he and The Undertaker went to head to head, and that it was the show stopper that came out on top. The Undertaker stares right through Michaels, who looks to be quite cool until the dead man grabs his microphone. Taker says that Judgment Day is appropriate, because The Heartbreak Kid will. . . “13” blasts out, interrupting Taker’s speech with Tazz walking out to the stage. The Smackdown GM says that he’s not having things get out of hand after last week and he’s not going to have his Judgment Day main event ruined. Michaels & Taker take their eyes off of each other, paying attention to Tazz who says that we all saw it was Chris Masters that was responsible for The Undertaker being hit last week, not Shawn Michaels. He then says that is why right here tonight in the main event, it is going to be Chris Masters going one on one with The Undertaker. A pop meets that announcement as “13” hits again with Tazz walking to the back with Michaels & Taker staring intently at each other.

Mickie James, Michelle McCool & Maria are all stood together in the hallway, and Maria asks them both just who that woman was last week. McCool says she didn’t even see her, all she can remember is being jumped and that was it. Mickie tells Maria that’s what she saw, but she doesn’t know who she is. Mickie then turns her head and clearly spots someone, and the camera zooms out to show Beth Phoenix standing there, about ten feet away from them. Mickie looks her in direction, still taking to McCool & Maria and says that maybe she (Beth) had something to do with it. Beth sees that they’re talking about her and walks right up to them, then says if they’ve got something to say, maybe they should spit it out. McCool tells her that they’re just talking about that woman jumping her last week, and Mickie chips in to point out that it did lead to Beth beating her with McCool then saying she forgot about that, and then speculates that it sounds like a bit of a coincidence. Beth is angered by that and tells them emphatically that she had nothing to do with it, and that she doesn’t know her the woman was. They just stare back at her, not seeming to believe her, but The Glamazon says that it’s the truth and if they don’t believe her, that’s fine. McCool says that it’s not fine at all and says that if the same thing happens in their match tonight, there’s going to be trouble. Mickie jumps in and tells McCool that she’ll make sure it won’t happen again because she’ll be in her corner tonight, and Maria says so will she. Beth doesn’t seem to mind and tells them it’s fine with her, and that it works out for the best, because Michelle’s going to need all the help she can get. Beth stares at her for a second before walking off, leaving a focused McCool behind.

***The Opening Match***

Non Title Match
Michael Shane vs Shannon Moore

ENDING:
A pretty quick paced match up with Shane looking very solid despite Moore getting some offence in throughout, only for Shane to come back at him. With Shane dodging a missile dropkick, he stands back up with Moore dragging himself up too.

Shane walks across to Moore and grabs him straight away before planting him with a northern lights suplex, holding on for a pin which only gets a two count with Moore lifting his shoulder up off the mat. The Cruiserweight Champion stands back up with Moore turning on to his side, and Shane doesn’t let him recover too much as he reaches down and drags him up to his feet. He drags Moore’s head under his arm and grabs hold of his leg before drilling him with a leg hook DDT. Moore doesn’t look too good as Shane turns over and goes for another cover, but Moore surprises a lot of people by getting his shoulder up again. Shane is one of those who is shocked by Moore’s resilience, but the champ makes his way back up and walks in to the corner, where he starts to tune up the band with the fans clapping and stomping their feet as Moore struggles up to his feet. Moore looks very groggy as he stands up, and as he turns round, Shane explodes out of the corner and looks to hit a Super Kick, but Moore ducks his head. As Shane turns back round, Moore grabs him by the arm and whips him in to the ropes, but as Shane comes back, he slides through Moore’s legs. Shane races up to his feet, and as Moore turns round, he meets some Sweet Chin Music. It’s all over bar the count as Moore drops to the mat with Shane following up to get the cover and the victory.

WINNER: Michael Shane by pinfall @ 6.10.

AFTERMATH: Just as Shane’s music hits, it cuts almost straight away as Kid Kash walks out to the stage with a microphone in hand. With Shane grabbing his belt and turning to the stage, Kash says that it’s good to see “the champ” taking him seriously by gettin’ in a workout before Judgment Day. He then tells Shane that it’s gonna be a whole lot different when they get it on, because it ain’t gonna be a workout, it’s gonna be a battle he can’t win, not like tonight. With Shane not looking too impressed, Kash says that even in that little warm up, he wasn’t impressed one bit, and the way he looks at it, both Shane and his cousin ain’t gonna be holdin’ any gold by the time Judgment Day is through, but The Notorious K.I.D. sure will be. Kash’s music hits to heat from the fans as he displays an evil grin, not going down too well with the Cruiserweight Champion staring right back at him with a look of utter contempt.

Josh Matthews is standing by and introduces his guest at this time, Johnny Jeter. The smug youngster is revealed as the camera zooms out, and Matthews reminds us that later on tonight, Matt Sydal will have the chance to get revenge on the man standing next to him for turning on him a few weeks ago. Jeter takes offence to that and tells Josh that’s not how it happened it all, but says it’s funny that just like everyone else, he’s jumping on the Matt Sydal bandwagon. He says that everywhere he went with Sydal, travelling from show to show, city to city with him, the only one people cared about was Matt, asking for his autograph or a picture and telling him just how great he was, ignoring the real star out of the two of them, Johnny Jeter. He goes on to say that it should have been him and not Sydal that got a shot at the Cruiserweight Championship at Wrestlemania, or at the least the chance to prove he was capable off getting there, but he says that just like it went for about five months, the only person that mattered was Matt Sydal. Josh then asks Jeter if he’s looking forward to having his say on that tonight and that he can change all that in their match. Jeter says that looking forward isn’t strong enough to describe how he’s feeling about the prospect of getting to take out all his built up frustration on the golden boy. He takes a short pause before turning to the camera and saying that once he’s made his point tonight, this whole Sydal bandwagon will come to an end, and that the entire world will see that Johnny Jeter is the real deal. He grins in to the camera before walking out to the shot with boos coming from inside the arena.

We see Josh Hayger working out in a gym and a wrestling ring, cutting to a still image at the end.

VOICEOVER: There have been some who seem to be unstoppable. . . There are those who have claimed to be invincible. . . However, there is one who can call himself unbeatable. . . For this man is yet to suffer the bitter taste of defeat throughout his entire wrestling life, for this is a man who refuses to lose. . . This man is Josh Hayger, and he’s coming to Friday Night Smackdown.

***Match #2***

Michelle McCool w/Mickie James & Maria vs Beth Phoenix

ENDING:
McCool surprised Beth in the beginning, but The Glamazon has fought back and gained control. McCool looks in bad shape as she tries to get back up to her feet with Beth waiting patiently, plotting her next move. As McCool makes it to her feet, The Glamazon walks over and kicks her in the gut before grabbing her arm and whipping her in to the corner. McCool’s back hits the pads, but not that harshly as Beth runs in at her, only for McCool to fight back by lifting her boot up in to Beth’s face. Phoenix holds her face and staggers out of the corner with McCool following her out and hitting a hair pull backbreaker. Maria & Mickie cheer Michelle on as she looks to cover The Glamazon, but the dangerous diva kicks out at 2. McCool gets right back up and urges Phoenix back up, and Beth looks a little sore as McCool nails her with series of european uppercuts, putting Beth on the back foot. She then tries for an irish whip but The Glamazon is too strong and reverses it. Beth makes the mistake of ducking her head as McCool comes back off the ropes and kicks her in the head. It wasn’t a very strong kick by McCool, but she grabs Beth by the head and arms to set her up for The Wings of Love. Phoenix fights it straight away though and frees her arms to grab McCool around the waist. She turns slightly to an angle so she can ram McCool back in to the corner pads, and this time McCool’s does feel it. Beth lets go of her opponent and steps back from the corner as McCool staggers out in to a kick to the gut with The Glamazon shifting behind her to lift her up for The Grand Slam. McCool looks in real trouble as Beth nails it, turns her over and gets the 3.

WINNER: Beth Phoenix by pinfall @ 5.49.

AFTERMATH: “Glamazon” hits to heat from the crowd as Maria slips in the ring to check on McCool. Mickie starts to climb the steps as Beth leaves the ring, but the same woman from last week with jet black hair jumps the barricade again. She grabs Mickie by the feet and pulls her down with Mickie’s head hitting the steel steps. Maria hears the bang and looks shocked as she sees this woman slip in to the ring and stare right at her with the confused Beth also looking on from the ramp. Maria has no choice but to defend herself and run at this woman, but she runs right in to a kick to the stomach. Beth watches on as this woman spins Maria round and pulls her head under her arm to plant her with a reverse DDT. Maria lies there helpless as this woman stands up and looks toward The Glamazon with a smile on her face, but Beth doesn’t know what to make of her at all, looking completely stunned at the damage done by this dangerous woman.

{Commercial Break}

“I’m Comin” hits to heat with the ring set up for The VIP Lounge, but the fans start cheering instead when they see Elijah Burke walking out to the stage with the ever beautiful Layla. Before he starts to walk down the ramp, Burke stops at the centre of the stage and taunts MVP with a ballin’ pose, making Layla laugh as well as some of the audience. The casually dressed Burke can’t stop smiling as he walks in to the ring with the smokin’ hot Layla. He grabs one of the microphones and says that he’s got a major announcement to make, and tells the fans that for one night only, they don’t have to hear about how amazingly full of crap MVP is. Burke says it’s kind of funny really because the only thing amazing about him is that his parents didn’t put him up for adoption or have his vocal chords taken out as a kid. The fans laugh along with that, and Burke carries on to say that as much as he’d love to tear in to MVP all night, he’s actually got some serious business to discuss. He reminds the fans that at Judgment Day, he’s been given the chance to give MVP the most valuable beat down of his life, and that he’s looking forward to it as much as MVP’s folks were when he was about to take a trip to the slammer.

Again the laughs come from the crowd as Burke tries to contain himself, and he then says that he’ll try and be serious, but a few more might come out before the night is through, but it won’t be his fault. He moves on to say that after all the crap MVP said about him, he was probably due a few in return, but he then says that Judgment Day is a few weeks away yet and that someone else has the chance to get their hands on MVP tonight, bringing him to his special guest for the night. He tells the fans to give a huge VIP welcome to MATT HARDY!!! “Live for the Moment” blasts out, and Matt Hardy walks out to a huge pop with the fans rising to their feet. He gets in to the ring and he shakes hands with Burke before picking up another microphone. Burke welcomes Matt and says that after all the problems he’s had with MVP in the past, he must be looking forward to getting the chance renew acquaintances again so to speak when they meet later on tonight. Matt nods his head and says that he can’t argue with that, but Burke interrupts and tells Matt that before they go any further, he has something else very special for everyone to enjoy tonight.

He tells the fans that he spoke with a few people in the production truck earlier today and that they were able to put together a special video package, something he thinks could be the play of the week. He tells the guys to roll it, and we see the ending to the Burke & Matt/Punk & MVP tag match from last week with MVP hitting Punk by accident with the Money in the Bank briefcase to give Matt & Burke the win. The camera returns to Matt & Burke smiling in the ring, and Burke says that really was a great example of “ballin’”. Matt chuckles again as Burke says that for someone holding so much responsibility with that briefcase, he really should be more careful with it. Matt says that he couldn’t agree more, but then turns to the crowd and says that maybe he’s just like everyone else and he wanted to smack Punk in the face. That gets a cheer too, but the boos arrive pretty quickly as MVP walks out with a microphone and his Money in the Bank briefcase. He walks and talks as he makes his way down the ramp, saying that what they’re doin’ is fraud and he could have them dealt with like that (clicking his fingers). As he climbs through the ropes, he says that they are no better than all the haters, and that they need to show some respect to the future world champion. He turns to Matt and tells him that he’s surprised he’s even out here considering he’s gonna get his ass handed to him tonight and by Punk at Judgment Day, just like his pot head brother Jeff did at WrestleMania.

Matt makes a move towards MVP but Burke holds him back. MVP barely smirks before telling Burke that he must think he’s real clever settin’ all this up, but he says that all he’s done is buy himself the same pass Matt has got for tonight, and that’s gettin’ his ass handed to him at Judgment Day. Burke lets go of Matt, who has calmed down and looks on as Burke tells MVP that they’re big words, and that at Judgment Day, he’s not gonna be able to back ‘em up. MVP sn-iggers and lifts his briefcase up in to the air while saying that he’s got all the back up he needs. Matt looks confused and says that it looks like the only back up he has is his briefcase, and in reality it’s two on one, three if you count Layla, and Matt says he thinks she can take him (MVP). The crowd like that but MVP doesn’t, and he makes a swing at Matt, but Burke jumps in as they pummel MVP across the back, sending him back in to the ropes as he drops his briefcase. They then take a step back before sending him over the top rope with a double clothesline to a big pop from the crowd. Burke kicks the briefcase under the bottom rope to MVP as he sits up looking very angry indeed with “Don’t Waste My Time” playing to a huge pop. Matt & Burke laugh at the sight of MVP on his ass with Layla walking up to put her arm round Burke, leaving MVP livid.

Tazz is walking down the hall and finishes off a burrito as he comes to the door of his office. He walks in and is greeted by the sight of the angry duo of Chavo Guerrero & Orlando Jordan sitting down on a leather sofa. They stand up with Chavo flying off the handle and asking Tazz just what he’s going to do about Ron Killings attacking him from behind last week for no reason whatsoever, telling Tazz he can’t let people go round doing whatever the hell they like. Jordan doesn’t let Chavo finish or Tazz answer as he says that he could have been seriously injured last week by having to fight Bobby Lashley, calling him a risk to anyone who gets in the ring with him. Tazz chuckles and asks if they’re serious, and they both say they are. The Smackdown GM then turns to Chavo and says that he finds that kind of funny really since if he remembers it right, Chavo smashed Killings in the back with a steel chair a couple of weeks ago, but yet here Chavo is pissing and moaning about the same thing happening to him. Chavo gets a little hot and says that was completely different, saying Killings came in to his locker room and asked for it.

Tazz says that’s not how it went and reminds Chavo that Killings went there to apologise, and that he (Chavo) set him up by accepting his apology before jumping him. Chavo shakes his head in frustration, but Jordan butts in. He says he didn’t come here to talk about dumb ass Mexicans and guys who have spent time in the pen, angering Chavo who asks him to tell him what he just said. Tazz raises his voice and tells them both to shut up because they’re both talking crap. He tells Chavo that Killings did what anybody would do, but agrees it doesn’t make it right. He turns to Jordan and says that if Lashley is too much to deal with, then maybe he shouldn’t be wrestling in the first place. They both try to get a word in, but Tazz says that he’s going to cut a deal with them. He says that he came up with the idea of having Shelton Benjamin defend the United States Championship in the first ever scramble match at Judgment Day, and he thinks that along with Killings & Lashley, they can get all their differences resolved and get a title shot at the same time by joining Shelton in that match. Chavo & Jordan remain quiet and don’t seem to object to the idea when Tazz says that he’s also looking for two men to take on the tag team champions tonight, and that they look just like the two men he had in mind.

That doesn’t go down as well, but Tazz tells them that if they want a shot at the US title, they better go get ready. They take it on the chin and do as he says with Chavo saying to Tazz that he better make sure Killings doesn’t jump him again as he walks out of the door with Jordan staring angrily at Tazz too. Just as Tazz is about to sit down, the door swings open again with The Masters of the Mat, Chris Masters & Charlie Haas barging in. They don’t look happy either, and Masters tells Tazz he’s way out of line for putting him in a match with The Undertaker tonight. Tazz loses it having just dealt with Chavo & Jordan. He tells Masters that he’s out of line for barging in to his office and telling him what he can and can’t do. He reminds him that he is in the one in charge around here, and that if either he or his partner in crime can’t respect that, they should get the hell out of his office before he really gives them something to get mad about. Masters looks like he’s about to explode, but he does as he’s told and storms round in a huff with Haas following him out of the office and slamming the door as they leave. Tazz sits down and looks round for a couple of seconds before saying he knows what he needs, another burrito. He stands up and leaves the room too as the camera fades out.

{Cut Backstage}

Josh Matthews is standing by, and he asks us to welcome his guests, the WWE Tag Team Champions, The UK Pack (Paul Burchill & Harry Smith). They walk in to the shot looking fairly relaxed as a pop is heard from inside the arena. Josh says that we’ve seen their Judgment Day opponents of Chris Masters & Charlie Haas find their way in to trouble tonight, and asks the champs if they have any comments on that. Burchill says that the way he sees it, Masters in particular can’t control his own mouth and that the lack of a brain is leading to him making some very bad decisions. Smith gets in on the act and says that if Masters wants to get himself in trouble with The Undertaker, then that’s fine with them as it’s not going to help their chances of winning the tag titles at Judgment Day. Burchill chips in with a little comment, saying that whatever trouble Masters gets himself in to, his follower won’t be far behind either, so it works out well for them. Josh then says he wants to switch gears and ask them how they feel about their match with Chavo Guerrero & Orlando Jordan later on tonight. Smith says that it’s pretty straight forward really, they’re going to send The Masters of the Mat a stark reminder that things aren’t going to be easy like they seem to think at Judgment Day, and that they’re going to have something in common with Chavo & Jordan, they’re going to lose to the tag team champions.

“Axeman” hits as Matt Sydal walks out to the stage looking more determined and focused than usual ahead of his match with his former friend, Johnny Jeter. He stops at the top of the stage and looks down to pump himself up a little bit more before walking down the ramp, but before he gets half way down, Johnny Jeter runs down in pursuit. The crowd try to warn Sydal but it’s too late as Jeter clubs him across the back, sending him down to his knees. Jeter continues the attack, stomping across Sydal’s back repeatedly before kicking him in the ribs and sending him rolling down the ramp. Jeter has a look of sick pleasure on his face as he follows him and pulls him up to his feet to whip him in to the barricade. Sydal collides side on and just slides down the barricade with Jeter then driving his boot in to the side of Sydal’s head. Jeter’s not done though as he drags him away from the barricade by the head and closer to the ring. He pulls Sydal up to his feet and whips him in to the steel steps with Sydal hitting side on again, and as he hits the deck, Sydal clutches his ribs. Jeter looks on with a real sick grin on his face as three referees run down the ramp to check on Sydal. They quickly call for help as Jeter backs up, still looking extremely satisfied as two medics run down and attend to Sydal, who looks to be in a lot of pain while Jeter backs up the ramp looking very pleased with himself.

Non Title Match
The UK Pack vs Orlando Jordan & Chavo Guerrero

ENDING:
Burchill & Smith looked in control in the early going, but some dirty tactics from Chavo & Jordan have brought them back in to it. Jordan looks in to the crowd with a smug look on his face after raking Smith in the eye thanks to a Chavo distraction. With Smith on his knees, Jordan steps back in to the ropes, comes back and drives his boot in to Smith’s head before trying for a cover, but Smith kicks out quite comfortably at 2. OJ stands back up and back tracks to his corner, making the tag to Chavo. He climbs through the ropes quite calmly as he strolls across to Smith and kicks him in the ribs as he gets to his knees. It puts him back down to the mat with Chavo turning back in to the ropes and coming back with a baseball slide in to the ribcage of Harry Smith. That looks like it hurt, and Chavo looks to take advantage straight away by hooking the leg for a cover, but again Smith kicks out. He does look in pain though as Guerrero stands back up and taunts his opponent, telling him to get up. As Smith rolls on to his side, Chavo ducks down and slaps him gently in the side of the head. He turns and smiles in to the crowd, but as he turns back to face Smith and tries to pull him up, he is met with a hard right hand to the gut. Smith picks himself up and fires off a couple of hard right hands, knocking Chavo back in to the ropes.

He then whips him in to the opposite set of ropes and walks back in to the centre of the ring, grabbing Chavo as he comes back and tossing him behind with a belly to belly suplex. That gets a pop from the crowd, and Smith tries to crawl across on his knees towards Burchill while Chavo drags himself closer to his corner with both men making the tag. Burchill races in to the ring while Jordan looks hesitant. OJ can only look on as Burchill runs at him and knocks him down with a clothesline, and then another as Jordan gets back up. Jordan rolls on to his knee and Burchill reacts quickly to drag him back up, pulling him in to position for a pump handle slam. He lifts him up in to the air but switches gears to plant him with a modified sidewalk slam. It looks like it could be over as he rushes to cover Jordan, but at the count of 2, Chavo just about makes the save with a frantic dive across on top of Burchill. Chavo stands back up and runs at Smith, knocking him off the apron with a knee lift. Chavo urges Burchill back up as the referee tries to get him outside, but a pop breaks out from the crowd as Ron Killings races down the ramp and reaches inside to drag Chavo out of the ring by his feet with Burchill standing back up to get the ref’s attention. Chavo looks furious and shoves Killings, only for Killings to drill him with a right hand, sending him to the floor as Jordan struggles to his feet on the inside and walks right in to a C4 from Burchill who follows up to pick up the victory.

WINNERS: The UK Pack by pinfall @ 7.28.

AFTERMATH: “Britannia” hits to a pop from the fans as Smith crawls back in the ring. As he picks himself up, he and Burchill are presented with their belts by the referee. They pose with them in the ring with Chavo sitting up on the oustide, and he’s clearly not best pleased by Killings’ actions as Killings grins at him before heading back up the ramp while the tag champs decide to follow.

CM Punk is talking in the hallway with Kid Kash when MVP and his Money in the Bank briefcase stumble in to them, and he doesn’t look happy as he tells Kash he wants a word with Punk. Punk doesn’t seem all that thrilled to be in MVP’s presence, but he tells Kash he’ll catch up with him later. Kash says that’s cool and walks out of the shot, leaving an awkward silence between Punk & MVP. Punk shrugs his shoulders and asks MVP if he’s gonna say somethin’ but answers his own question, albeit sarcastically by saying he assumes he’s stopped by to apologise for smashing him in the face with the precious briefcase last week and allowing Matt Hardy to get a win over him. MVP tells Punk to shut up for a second and says that if anyone should be apologisin’, it should be him (Punk). He tells Punk that Matt helped Burke out earlier on and that later on, Burke’s gonna have Matt’s back for their match, telling Punk that he doesn’t want that. Punk looks like he couldn’t care less as he says that Matt can do whatever he wants as long as it has nothing to do with him, and he tells the frustrated MVP that he’s not gonna help him out tonight, and since he’s Mr. Money in the Bank all, he shouldn’t need any help anyway. MVP gets even angrier as he explains that he’s Mr. Money in the Bank because for a reason and that he doesn’t need help from anyone. He tells Punk that’s not what he came to talk about but he’s so sick of havin’ to listen to haters all night that he’s just gonna do things his way and screw the rest before storming off down the hall. Punk just sn-iggers and shakes his head as we go to commercial.

Bobby Lashley
is shown walking out of Tazz’s office when the United States Champion, Shelton Benjamin walks down the hall and stumbles across him. Shelton smirks and says how funny it is to see him come out of the trustee GM’s office. He then asks him if it’s a coincidence that just a week after being brought to Smackdown by hid buddy that he’s been gifted a shot at his (Shelton’s) United States title at Judgment Day. Lashley purely tells him he’s paranoid, but Shelton says he’s clearly not. He says that everyone knows how excited Tazz was about him when he first debuted in the WWE, calling him a superstar in the making and how convenient it is that it was Tazz who saved from him being a joke on Raw by getting him to come to Smackdown. Lashley doesn’t seem to take the comments too seriously as Shelton continues to say that he might have friends in high places but come Judgment Day, it doesn’t matter how many people are challenging him, that not one of them, including Lashley will take the US title away from him. Lashley says that it doesn’t look that way to him as he sees that there are four men are going after one man and one shared target, and he doesn’t think Shelton has what it takes to survive. Shelton’s hot, and he says that he’s going to prove him wrong, Tazz wrong, and everyone else who doubts him wrong at Judgment Day, because no one is taking the title from him, no one and asks Lashley if he’s got that. Lashley just smiles back at him, not showing any sign of intimidation. Shelton’s pissed and he storms out of the shot before he gets himself in to any trouble.

Matt Hardy vs Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP)

ENDING:
Matt & MVP have been right at each others throats, and as MVP looks to take control, he drags Matt up to his feet and whips him in to the ropes. Matt bounces off the ropes and knocks MVP down with a shoulder barge. MVP doesn’t waste any time in getting back up, but Matt sends him right back down with a right hand. Again MVP is back on his feet within seconds, and Matt turns back to run the ropes, running back and connecting with a clothesline that sends MVP back down to the mat. It takes him only a second or two longer to get back up, but up MVP gets with Matt kicking him in the gut and grabbing him around the upper chest for the Side Effect. MVP fights the hold and escapes Matt’s clutches by swinging his elbow in to the side of Matt’s head. Mr. Money in the Bank takes a step back and drives his boot in to Matt’s chest before grabbing him around the chest and tossing him overhead with an overhead belly to belly suplex. MVP thinks that could do it and he turns over frantically to scurry across and cover Hardy, but Matt kicks out at 2.

MVP doesn’t look happy as he sits up, but he doesn’t look too surprised either. He picks himself back up seeming a little deflated as Matt rolls on to his side, and MVP shouts at him to get up. As Matt gets to his knees, MVP walks up to him and drags him up before clubbing him across the back. He holds on to Matt by grabbing him around the waist, but this time Matt fights back by swinging his elbow back in to the side of MVP’s head, freeing himself. He turns around immediately and hammers away at MVP with a couple of hard right hands before whipping him in to the ropes, and as MVP comes back, Matt tosses him overhead with a back body drop. MVP looks to get up right away, but as he gets to his feet, Matt pounces and quickly whips him in to the corner, following in to nail him with a clothesline. He holds on to MVP’s head as he hits the corner and turns round to run out of the corner with MVP in his grasp to send him crashing head first in to the mat, courtesy of a bulldog.

MVP turns on to his back after his head hits the canvas while Matt turns back to walk in to the corner, where he climbs up to the second rope. With the fans cheering, he leaps off and connects with a diving leg drop to a big pop from the crowd before going for the cover, but MVP kicks out at 2. Matt sits up and sinks his head in to his hands, thinking he had it won there, but as MVP starts to shift around, Matt picks himself back up. With MVP getting to his knees, Matt stands by and stalks him for the Twist of Fate, and as MVP turns round to face him, Matt stomps him in the gut and pulls his head in to position. The fans are on their feet, but as Matt looks to nail it, MVP frees himself as Matt spins round and pushes him right in to the referee, knocking him down to the mat. The ref looks out of it as Matt turns back round in to MVP, who pulls him in to place for The Playmaker. The crowd boo like crazy, but Matt manages to pull his head free and plants the stunned MVP out of nowhere with the Twist of Fate to a huge cheer from the crowd. Matt drops to his knees and hooks the leg, forgetting about the referee for a second before he turns round to see him lying there.

Matt gets back up and walks over to the ref, kneeling down to check on him. Matt stands up and shakes his head with boos echoing around the arena, totally unaware that CM Punk has slid in to the ring and grabbed hold of MVP’s Money in the Bank briefcase. Matt slowly turns round to go back to work on MVP, but he’s greeted by Punk running right at him and nailing him in the face with the briefcase. The boos continue to ring round the arena as Punk drops the case and kicks it in to the corner, grinning as he looks down at Matt. He then walks over to the ref and tries to shake him out of it, but we then hear cheers as Elijah Burke races down to the ring and slides in under the bottom rope. Punk turns to see what’s going on and panics as he sees Burke. He quickly turns to the side and climbs through the ropes before jumping the barricade with Burke following in hot pursuit. With the ref slowly coming round, MVP is also coming back to life, and he crawls over to Matt and reaches his arm out across his chest for the cover. The ref still isn’t totally with it, but as the crowd show their disapproval, the ref drags himself across ever so slowly and makes the ever so slow 3 count to give MVP the win.

WINNER: MVP by pinfall @ 9.44.

AFTERMATH: “I’m Comin’” hits as MVP slowly sits up with a huge grin on his face as he realises what’s just happened. The ref remains down as MVP manages to pull himself back up, and once he’s up, he walks over to the corner and picks up his briefcase. He raises it up in to the air and points to it with his other hand, making it clear he means business before walking to the back as Matt comes round, looking very confused.

The Undertaker vs Chris Masters w/Charlie Haas

ENDING:
The Undertaker took charge of the match until a Charlie Haas distraction allowed Masters to sneak his way back in to it. With Taker trying to roll on to his side, The Masterpiece does his best to keep him grounded by stomping him across the back. The phenom doesn’t make it easy for Masters as he continues to fight for his right to stand, but Masters kneels down and drives his forearm in to the back of The Undertaker, keeping him flat on his stomach. Masters stands back up and starts stomping across the back again before dropping an elbow right across Taker’s spine. The Masterpiece doesn’t stand back up and opts to turn Taker over and try for a cover, but the dead man kicks out right on 2. The frustrated Masterpiece stands back up and turns in to the ropes, runs back and goes for another elbow drop, but Taker rolls to the side with Masters hitting the deck. Both men make their way back up, and it’s Masters who is up first and he drags Taker up to whip him in to the corner.

He follows in and nails him with a hard clothesline before back tracking out of the corner as Taker walks out in to his grasp, and The Masterpiece grabs him around the upper chest, trying to lift him up for a bear hug. Taker fights it though and drives his arms in to both sides of Masters’ head, escaping the clutches of The Masterpiece. With Masters a little unsteady, the phenom takes advantage by hammering away with a succession of hard right hands, sending Masters back towards the corner. Taker grabs him by the arm and whips him in to the corner before following in and hitting him with a clothesline. Masters doesn’t get a second’s rest as Taker whips him in to the opposite corner and follows in with another clothesline. This time Taker steps out of the corner and turns back to run the ropes, running back as Taker staggers out in to a big boot that sends him down in a heap. Taker drops to his knees and covers his opponent, but Masters easily lifts his foot on to the bottom rope to stop the count.

The ref sees it and advises Taker who stands back up and lifts his right hand in to the air, stalking Masters for a chokeslam as he starts to sit up. Haas panics and jumps up on to the apron, catching the attention of the dead man who turns to the side and walks across towards him. Masters’ partner looks intimidated as Taker gets closer, but the referee rushes over and steps in front of Taker while telling Haas to get down. The dead man stares at Haas for a couple of seconds before turning back towards Masters, but with Haas still arguing with the referee, The Masterpiece remains on his knees as Taker walks right in to a low blow. A satisfied Haas drops to the floor as Taker falls to the mat with Masters protesting his innocence to the referee as he turns round. The Masterpiece picks himself back up and immediately bends down to drag Taker up to his knees, allowing him to make his own way as Masters then shifts behind the dead man, preparing to place him in The Masterlock. The fans boo as the intense Masters hovers behind the slow moving Undertaker, and as he stands up fully, Masters pounces and grabs him around the neck to try and lock in the deadly hold.

Taker realises he’s in trouble and fights it right away, not allowing Masters to lock it in properly, and the dead man manages to force Masters back by driving him in to the corner, getting himself clear of the hold. As Taker steps out of the corner and turns round, Masters staggers out in to the deadly hands of the phenom and is quickly on the receiving end of a Chokeslam. Taker signals for the end by dragging his arm across his throat, getting ready for the Tombstone Piledriver. Haas sees the danger and walks over to the timekeeper’s table to grab a steel chair. He walks back to the ring and places it on the apron before running round to the other side of the ring and hops up on to the apron, getting the attention of the referee once again. Taker turns his head and sees Haas getting involved again. He walks over to the ropes and grabs him by the throat as Masters crawls across the mat to grab the steel chair. It takes him several seconds to make his way back up as the referee tries to persuade Taker to let go and allow Haas to step back down. The fans try to warn Taker as Masters stands up and walks up behind him to smash him in the back with the chair, causing the referee to call for the bell and disqualify Masters.

WINNER: The Undertaker by DQ @ 8.31.

AFTERMATH: Masters grins as he looks down at Taker squirming on the mat. Haas slips in the ring and smiles as Taker starts to come round. Slowly the dead man is able to roll on to his knee with Masters shifting behind him, stalking him for The Masterlock. As Taker gets to his knees, a huge pop breaks out with the camera then showing Shawn Michaels racing down to the ring. He slides under the bottom rope with Masters shoving Taker face first down to the mat again before charging at Michaels who drops him with a right hand. Haas charges at The Heartbreak Kid, but the World Champion explodes with a super kick, sending Haas down in a heap. Masters is back up in a hurry though as he turns round in to a succession of jabs from HBK, who sends the big man down to the mat. He then sees the steel chair lying across the mat and decides to get some payback from last week by bending down to pick it up. Masters looks groggy as he attempts to stand back up, and so does The Undertaker as he makes his way back up, just behind him. Michaels gets ready to take Masters’ head off, and as The Masterpiece stands up fully, Michaels swings the chair at him, but Masters ducks with the chair being driven in to the skull of The Undertaker. Michaels looks stunned as Taker just collapses to the mat with Masters making a quick escape, slipping under the bottom rope and reaching inside to pull Haas out. As Haas comes round under his support, Masters looks back in and smiles at the sight of HBK staring down in shock at the challenger to his World Championship come Judgment Day, looking down at the chair too, thinking the response that may follow.

D-K-L's Smackdown Review

Starting off with HBK this week then, there will be added interest in this now after their epic match last week but you are going down your own route with the respect angle which I like. I liked HBK saying that he isn't afriad of The Undertaker as he did appear slightly scared of him after what happened last week if I remember rightly. I was going to question whether or not HBK would care that much if Taker thought he hit him with the chair, but I liked HBK's reasons, like saying that he doesn't want to jeapordise their big match. I also liked it when he mentioned that the old HBK died a long time ago, as it shows how much they have chnaged over the years since their early encounters. The Undertaker coming down was kinda expected although I thought we might get one of his video packages. I assume he was going to say 'rest in peace' but I'm not sure about Tazz interrupting him like that, I guess you want to keep Taker off the mic so he remains dark and mysterious. The match announcement was good and it makes sense after last week.

Michelle's got backup! Decent enough segment to keep this mystery woman in our minds, but I think Beth does know who it is. I expect this woman will get involved again tonight somehow. I'm looking forward to Phoenix kicking Michelle's ass though!

Good win for Michael Shane, every win for him helps to build him up further as the CW Champ. It seemed like a pretty good contest and it didn't seem like a complete squash the way you described Moore's resilience. He won with some Sweet Chin Music as well, keeping that link going with HBK. The promo after the match from Kash was very effective indeed, especially the line about both he and HBK losing their titles. This is a good feud to establish Shane as the Champ. I just thought about Jamie Noble, I guess he's still injured but I am hoping he joins back up with Kash.

Good interview with Jeter, you could really sense his jealousy of Sydal in this and I liked his reasons for why he did what he did. Describing Sydal as a golden boy and talking about his bandwagon was good as well, really shows his hatred for him. I am surprised you are giving away a match between them though tonight, that isn't a good idea in my opinion as of course they will be facing off again further down the line, but i'm sure you know what you're doing.

Michelle gave it a decent fight but i'm glad Phoenix came out on top. The aftermath was interesting, having two divas at ringside made me think it would be hard for this woman to appear again but the way she took Maria and Mickie out was impressive. I thought Beth knew this woman but I guess not, I am guessing the point behind it is to try and impress Beth Phoenix or something, but either way it is interesting.

The VIP Lounge with Elijah Burke! Nice idea. Burke was great in this and it got him some mic time which is always a good thing. I liked how he made fun of MVP and the little jokes and the video with Matt Hardy were a nice touch too. I was going to say that it is a little odd for Hardy to be involved in a light-hearted thing like this while he has a major storyline with Punk going on, but the line about everybody wanting to punch CM Punk was great and very well done. I was expecting MVP to come out and he did, some good lines after that too including the line about Layla being able to take MVP. Not overly keen about the ending though but I guess you had to end it some way, plus the heel being taken out makes the crowd happy, I just expected Punk to come down or something.

Another decent segment with Chavo and Jordan both complaining. I liked how they were arguing and each wanted something and it allowed Tazz to show his authority once more. I'm still not really into this thing with Chavo/Killings though, just because I don't really care for either of them. Putting them in the scramble makes sense, Chavo more than Jordan though, I'm not really a Jordan fan but you must be. Good set up for the tag match announcement too. Masters and Haas coming in was good just to show their frustration as they have had problems with him recently, and you added a little comedy at the end so it was a good segment. You must be a bit frustrated that Tazz has left IRL though, althought it doesn't really matter I know its good to have your characters on screen IRL.

This wasn't a great interview but it did its job, added some hype to the tag match and it built up their rivalry with the MotM a little more. Plus its more mic time for the team which is good for them.

I should've known you would find a way put this match off to be honest as it is a little early IMO for their match, especially on TV. Loved the attack just because it was such a cowardly act but it would work perfectly to gain even more heat for Jeter. Looks like Sydal might of hurt his ribs as well which would make Jeter even more of a bad guy. Good decision.

Solid win for the UK Pack and they looked impressive in doing so. You furthered the Chavo/Killings feud as well which worked well, and I think the right person lost the match considering he's not in any solid feud right now.

Nice choice of mate for CM Punk, the bad guys are chilling together! This was an interesting segment, if not slighlty unusual. This was a clash of two big egos and you put that over well by having both men unwilling to apologise. MVP obviosuly is wanting a bit of help, and it would make sense so I think he might get it.

Yes! It looks like we might be getting a Benjamin/Lashley feud, that would be awesome! Lashley in the Scramble is great, I doubt he'll win it as its still fairly early in Shelton's reign, but I am hoping a Lashley/Shelton feud comes out of the finish. Good segment once again.

Good match. You gave us a lot of detail in this one and there was some good action in this, but the minute the ref went down it was obvious Punk was coming down. Punk changed his mind then but I guess the chance to cost Hardy a match was too good to refuse. Good ending and it made sense to have Burke come down and chase Punk to the back after Burke and Hardy were together earlier. I am pleased MVP got the win as well as the MITB holder, and he needed it as well after they made a bit of a fool out of him earlier.

You like your DQ's don't you!? Na seriously it was the right decision as it wouldn't do much good for Masters to lose to Taker, and the other way around is out of the question. I liked the dirty tactis such as the interference from Haas and the low blow from Masters to keep the match going, and them going for a chair is a realistic thing to do. Here comes Michaels for the save. Whoa! HBK nails Undertaker with the chair! Wow, things really have picked up with these two. He might not have hit him last week, but he certainly did this week accident or not! Fantastic ending to a very good show as usual. Good job mate.

“Masterpiece”
hits as The Masters of the Mat, Chris Masters & Charlie Haas walk down to the ring with two local wrestlers waiting inside. As Masters’ music cuts, Justin Roberts introduces both teams, naming the locals as Andy Douglas & Chase Stevens, but Masters walks over to Roberts and asks for the microphone. He gets it and says that he can’t help but comment on what happened last week with a certain hometown hero going by the name of Shawn Michaels. The mention of his name draws a huge reaction from the San Antonio crowd, and Masters says that they just saw the footage and they’re going to have to do more than pray to get Shawn out of the trouble he’s in when The Undertaker gets his hands on him tonight. He turns and laughs along with Haas as the fans boo, and he then points at his opponents to say that they have about as much chance of beating The Masters of Mat tonight as Shawn Michaels does of beating The Undertaker at Judgment Day. He laughs again before handing the microphone back to Justin Roberts, who leaves the ring as the ball is rung.

***The Opening Match***

Andy Douglas & Chase Stevens vs The Masters of the Mat (Charlie Haas & Chris Masters)

ENDING:
Masters & Haas have dominated the match and Haas is in total control as he applies an arm bar submission after catching Douglas with an arm drag takedown. Douglas shows some courage and fights the hold and is able to make his way back up to his feet, but Haas quickly turns the screw by twisting his arm and pulling him in to a vicious short arm clothesline. That looks to have taken the wind out of Douglas’s sails, and as he slowly makes his way back up, Haas slips behind him and starts stomping his feet against the mat before exploding with an Olympic Slam. The fans boo, but just as Haas is about to go for the cover, Masters asks to be tagged in, and Haas obliges. Masters climbs through the ropes and urges Douglas to get up, but it takes him a while to get to his knees, Masters then shifts behind him, stalking him for The Masterlock. The fans boo again, but just as Douglas gets to his knees, Masters turns round and knocks Stevens off the apron with a double axe handle blow to the chest. He smirks before turning his attention back to Douglas, and as the jobber stands back up, Masters locks in the deadly submission hold, giving Douglas no option but to give it up with the referee calling for the bell as Masters then lets go of Douglas who just falls in a heap.

WINNERS: The Masters of the Mat by stoppage @ 3.18.

AFTERMATH: The bell rings with Masters & Haas then announced as the winners. Haas enters the ring and looks up at Masters with a glint in his eye. The expert technician walks over to the motionless Douglas, drops to his knees by Douglas’s legs and locks in the Haas of Pain. Stevens gets back in the ring and runs at Masters, but The Masterpiece knocks him down with a clothesline. He reaches down and drags Stevens back up before tossing him over the top rope to heat from the crowd. Just then, a massive pop breaks out as the camera reveals Shawn Michaels running down the ramp. Masters turns and sees him coming, so he bends down and taps Haas on the back before getting out of harms way. Haas dodges the bullet too, letting the hold go and scurrying away as Michaels slides in under the bottom rope. He walks across the ring and asks for a microphone.

He looks hot as Masters & Haas grin while they back track up the ramp with The Heartbreak Kid then saying that he’s sick of coming out to explain himself week after week, but he’s not gonna let two punks like them run him down in his hometown. That gets a big cheer, but Masters & Haas continue grinning with HBK then telling the San Antonio crowd that the only two people who think he deliberately hit The Undertaker last week are the two half brain morons laughing away like a couple of school kids. Masters & Haas don’t seem to mind the insult as they’re enjoying getting under Michaels’ skin, but the World Champion says that they can try and cause as much trouble as they like it because it’s not going to work. He says that he’s dealt with hundreds of guys like them before and that the entire world including The Undertaker knows what happened last week was an accident, and the next time he hears them talking trash, they’re going to hear something too, the sound of sweet chin music. Michaels drops the mic and stares back at the now not so smug duo as “Sexy Boy” blasts out to a huge ovation.

{Commercial Break}

The grinning duo of Chris Masters & Charlie Haas walk through the halls, looking very pleased with themselves. All of a sudden, Haas stands still and points ahead for Masters to look up, and the camera zooms out to reveal the WWE Tag Team Champions, The UK Pack, Paul Burchill & Harry Smith leaning against a wall and talking. Masters & Haas walk forward, still grinning as Masters says “look what we have here”, causing Smith & Burchill to turn round, and they shake their heads at the presence of their Judgment Day opponents. Burchill says they’re lucky to have escaped last week and tonight unscathed, but come Judgement Day, they’re going to get what they deserve. Masters says that he totally agrees with him, saying they are going to get what they deserve, the tag team titles. He then says that nothing is going to stop them and that he and Charlie are going to send them back home to the UK empty handed. Burchill isn’t intimidated and he squares up to Masters to tell him that he and Harry might just have something to say about that with Harry Smith standing calmly behind Burchill. The smug Masterpiece then steps back and to the side, chuckling as Haas follows while also looking acting very cocky about it, leaving the champs to turn and stare at them.

{Cut Backstage}

Johnny Jeter is walking through the hallway in casual clothing and looking quite smug after his attack on Matt Sydal last week. He stops at a door that looks to be that of the general manager and knocks before walking in, and there sits Tazz behind his desk. The GM looks quite serious for a change and tells Jeter to take a seat on the couch. Tazz stands up and walks over to the couch while Jeter starts to consider what trouble he could be in during an awkward silence as Tazz then sits down alongside him. He stares at Jeter and tells him that he probably knows why he’s here. Jeter tells Tazz he doesn’t know what the problem is, but Tazz cuts in and tells him to shut his pie hole before he gets himself in even more trouble. The GM then tells Jeter that he probably thought he was real smart taking Sydal out last week to get out of their match, but he then says that he can forget about that because it wasn’t smart at all. Tazz looks very serious indeed as he stares right at Jeter, unnerving him as he says that it’s not so smart to piss him off as he’s about to find out.

Jeter doesn’t know what to do with Tazz then saying that fortunately, Sydal’s alright and he’s gonna be good to go come Judgment Day, which is kind of lucky considering because the match that was supposed to take place last week will now take place at Judgment Day. Jeter sn-iggers as he stands up and tells Tazz that he’s got him wrong, saying he’s not scared of Sydal one bit, but Tazz stands up too, telling him he doesn’t need to hear it, all he called him here for was to tell him not to piss off again because he won’t get off lightly next time. Jeter doesn’t look bothered at all and asks if that’s all, but Tazz says not quite. He tells him that he’s going to compete tonight too, against the Cruiserweight Champion, Michael Shane, but tells him not to get his hopes up because the title isn’t gonna be on the line. Jeter says he doesn’t care about the Cruiserweight Championship right now, all he cares about is finishing the job he started last week at Judgment Day. Tazz shakes his head in frustration and tells him to just get out, which Jeter does with a smirk on his face, but as he leaves, the serious looking Mickie James & Michelle McCool walk in.

Tazz looks happy to see them and tells them to take a seat, but they say they don’t want to sit down with Mickie saying all they want is to find out what he’s going to about this woman who’s been jumping them the last couple of weeks. Tazz holds his hands up and says that it’s all taken care of. McCool asks him what he means by “all taken care of”, and he says that she came to see him after the show last week and told him she wanted to come to Smackdown. Mickie looks stunned and asks Tazz what he said, and the GM says that he gave her one, and then saying a contract that is. McCool asks him if he’s crazy but he tells them that he told her straight that he wasn’t happy about what she did, but he says it’s not going to happen again now that she has a contract. Mickie & McCool aren’t best pleased, and Mickie asks him if he expects them to be okay with this. Tazz says that he expected them to react like they just have, and that’s why he’s made a tag team match tonight, the two of them taking on Beth Phoenix and the woman that has attacked them the last two weeks, Mia Rain. He carries on to say that now they can go out there tonight and stand up for themselves and show her that they’re not going to let her walk all over them. McCool tells him they’re going to do just that and turns round to walk out with the equally focused Mickie James.

A confrontation backstage with Shelton Benjamin telling Bobby Lashley that it doesn’t matter how the odds are stacked against him in the scramble match for his United States Championship at Judgment Day, because no one is taking the title from him.

{Cut To Ringside}

***Match #2***

Non Title Match
Bobby Lashley vs Shelton Benjamin

ENDING:
Lashley has fought back after some cheap tricks from the Shelton to take the initiative. With Shelton making his way back up by the corner, Lashley runs in at him and splashes him back in to the pads, and Shelton sure does feel the effects of that. Lashley doesn’t give him a breather though as he ducks his head and drives his shoulder repeatedly in to the mid section of the United States Champion who has no answer to this onslaught. Lashley backs out of the corner to a pop from the crowd, and as Shelton staggers out, Lashley grabs him around the upper part of his chest and tosses him behind with an overhead belly to belly suplex. The fans continue to get behind Lashley, but they’re left disappointed as Shelton kicks out of a cover at the count of two. Lashley stands back up and reaches down to drag Shelton back up to his knees straight away, but The Gold Standard fights back with a right forearm shot to the gut of Lashley that takes him by surprise. Benjamin reacts like a cat to pull himself up to his feet, and he kicks Lashley in the chest with the big man holding on to his boot as Shelton then looks to nail the dragon whip, but Lashley ducks his head with Shelton hitting the deck. That brings another pop from the San Antonio faithful, and Lashley looks in no mood to wait around as he drags Shelton back up and sets him up for a gut wrench.

He lifts him up on to his shoulder for the dominator and slams the United States Champion down to the mat, and he sends him flying further forward and closer to the ropes as he then follows up for the cover, only for Shelton to get his foot up on the rope to save himself. Sighs echo out from the crowd as Lashley pulls himself back up to his knees and shakes his head in frustration. As he begins to make his way back up, Shelton starts to roll on to his side and crawls towards the corner, using the ropes to help himself up as Lashley backs up in to the opposite corner, seemingly getting ready to spear Shelton in half. The totally oblivious Benjamin stands up fully, lets go of the ropes and turns round, Lashley charges at him, but Shelton steps to the side with Lashley charging in to the corner pads and his shoulder hitting the ring post. Shelton drops to his knees and rolls under the bottom rope as Lashley remains in pain while Shelton walks towards the timekeeper’s table and grabs his title belt before slipping back in the ring. The referee is busy checking on Lashley as he starts to make his way back up, but as they both turn round, the ref sees Shelton has the belt and tries to warn him not to use it, waving his arms around in a frenzy. With Lashley still a little groggy, he doesn’t realise what’s going on with Benjamin ignoring the referee to smash the belt in to Lashley’s face, giving the ref no option but to call for the bell.

WINNER: Bobby Lashley by DQ @ 8.58.

AFTERMATH: Boos ring out as Shelton stands there smirking in the ring while the camera switches to show Orlando Jordan grinning as he watches on a monitor in the back. It cuts back to the smirking United States Champion as he collects a microphone and says that like Lashley just found out, no one Tazz puts in his way will take the United States title from him at Judgment Day, no one. He says the title is his and it’s gonna stay that way. He smiles again as he turns round with the microphone, but he sees Lashley up on his feet and charging at him. He just manages to sidestep the monster, and Lashley puts the breaks on as Shelton makes a sharp exit, but they stare right at each other as The Gold Standard walks around the ramp with a smug look on his face.

{Cut Backstage}

Ron Killings
looks to be one angry man as he paces through the halls, and as he stops at Tazz’s door, out walks Tazz himself. Tazz looks glad to see him and tells him he’s just the man, but Killings cuts him off and tells him he wants Chavo Guerrero tonight. Tazz says he can’t do that, but Killings angrily asks him if he heard about the stunt Chavo pulled, going to the board and trying to get him fired, as well as the article on WWE.com. Tazz says that’s why he’s just the man, telling him he knows all about it, he’s spoken to the board and that his job is safe, and he’s going to deal with Chavo right now. Killings looks somewhat relieved but tells Tazz to make sure he does, because if he doesn’t, he (Killings) will. Tazz tells him not to worry because he’s going to tell Chavo exactly how it is in just a matter of minutes. Killings nods his head as Tazz walks off down the hall like a man on a mission.

{Commercial Break}

“13” hits as Tazz walks down to the ring, and he seems to very serious indeed. Once he climbs in to the ring, he walks over to the other side and asks for a microphone. He then says that he got quite a shock earlier this week when he found out a member of the Smackdown locker room went to WWE headquarters and tried to get one of his superstars fired behind his back. However, before he can carry on, “Chavo Ardiente” plays as a very angry Chavo Guerrero walks down the ramp with a microphone in hand. His music cuts quickly as Chavo asks Tazz if he just heard right, that Ron Killings’ job’s safe? He doesn’t give Tazz a chance to get a word in as he climbs through the ropes and tells Tazz that he knows what this is about, the fact he went over his head and went to the board of directors. Tazz says that now he mentions it, that’s a pretty big part of it, but Chavo says that he gave him the chance to do his job last week, and then asks Tazz what he did. Guerrero then asks Tazz to remind everyone what he did, but he doesn’t let him answer by saying that Tazz did nothing, in fact he rewarded Killings by giving him a spot in the scramble match at Judgment Day.

He then asks Tazz if that’s his meaning of the word justice, reminding him that Killings has attacked him for absolutely no reason the last two weeks and gone unpunished. He then says that it might work like that in Brooklyn, but this is Smackdown, not the slums of New York. Tazz cuts in and tells Chavo that Brooklyn has got nothing to do with it, and if he wants to walk out of this ring, he might do himself a favour and shut his mouth. That gets a big pop from the crowd as the intense Tazz stares right at the hot looking Chavo. Tazz then tells Chavo to think back a few weeks and reminds him that he smashed Killings in the back with a chair like a coward, so this whole unprovoked crap is just that, crap, and that’s just what the board of directors think, and that’s why Ron Killings has still got a job on Smackdown. Chavo shakes his head in anger and tells Tazz that’s not good enough. He says that it’s inexcusable to let convicts like Killings walk off the streets and beat the hell out of respectable people like Chavo Guerrero, and that if Killings attacked him on the street, he would be straight back where he belongs in jail.

The crowd boo the hell out of Chavo, but the crowd start to cheer as “What’s Up” blasts out to a big pop with Ron Killings pacing down to the ring. He looks like he’s going to explode, but Tazz senses the danger and shouts for security to get down there. Chavo drops his microphone as Killings stops at the bottom of the ramp and prepares to storm the ring. Security (6 men) come racing down the ramp as Tazz tells Killings not to do anything stupid, but as Killings steps forward to the apron and reaches up to grab the top rope, the security men pull him back to a ton of heat from the fans. With Killings trying to free himself, Tazz tells him that he’s sorry but this is the way it has to be and that the best thing he can do is go home as he has Chavo under control. Boos continue to ring out as Killings is escorted to the back with Chavo smiling widely, but Tazz tells him not to get too relaxed because he will be in action tonight in the main event, and his opponent is going to be another angry individual, none other than San Antonio’s own, “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels. That gets a massive pop as “13” hits again leaving Chavo not so happy in the ring while Tazz makes his way to the back.

***Match #3***

Mickie James & Michelle McCool vs Beth Phoenix & Mia Rain

ENDING:
Mia has been doing one hell of a job on Mickie James, but as she pulls Mickie back up and whips her in to the ropes, Mickie takes her by surprise by sliding through her legs and racing back up to her feet. Rain panics as she turns round in to a head scissors take down, and Mickie isn’t done as she pulls Rain up from her knees and drags her under arm while holding on to her left leg to connect with a leg hoot suplex pin. It’s not enough though as Rain kicks out at two, and as soon as Mickie gets back up, she walks in to her corner to tag in McCool. The rake like blonde steps through the ropes and walks over to Rain as she gets back to her knees, and McCool decides to give her a hand, followed by a european uppercut. She knocks her off balance with a second uppercut before turning back in to the ropes, but as she runs back, Rain ducks her head as McCool runs through and manages to put the breaks on. It doesn’t help though as Rain reaches back and plants her with a neckbreaker. Rain doesn’t go for the cover and crawls the short distance to her corner to tag in The Glamazon, who took her time in reaching her hand out, clearly not sure what to make of Smackdown’s latest addition to the diva roster. She even glances back at her partner as she walks towards McCool who starts to shift herself.

It’s evident that Beth is not comfortable as she half heartedly pulls McCool up to her feet, but she drags her head under her arm and lifts her vertically up in to the air for a suplex, but before she falls back, she walks to the ropes and instead opts to hit a slingshot suplex. McCool looks in some pain as Beth looks to wrap up the win with the subsequent cover, but McCool fights on to kick out to the relief of the crowd. Beth still doesn’t look at ease as she stands back up and coolly drags McCool back up before whipping her gently in to the ropes. McCool hits them and holds on to the top rope before urging Beth to run at her, and she does so, running in to a lifted boot that sends her staggering back in to the centre of the ring. As she turns round in a daze, McCool runs at The Glamazon, but she charges right in to a double axe handle blow to the chest, sending her crashing down to the mat. Beth looks angered as she bends down straight away to pull McCool back up and in to place for The Glam Slam, and she nails it. McCool is out of it, but as Beth looks to go for the cover, Rain stares right at her, confusing The Glamazon. She stands up and walks over to Rain who slaps her shoulder, getting the tag in as Beth watches on in complete bemusement as Rain steps through the ropes and walks over to McCool. Rain coolly spins McCool round before planting her with a falling reverse DDT, otherwise known as the Rain Drop to make the cover and earn the victory.

WINNERS: Beth Phoenix & Mia Rain by pinfall @ 6.33.

AFTERMATH: Rain’s music hits and she gets her arm raised as The Glamazon stands there staring at her, still not sure what to make of her while Mickie enters the ring to check on McCool. Rain leaves the ring and smiles as she backs up the ramp with both Mickie & Beth watching her like a hawk.

Non Title Match
Michael Shane vs Johnny Jeter

ENDING:
A very even match up with Jeter pulling out a few little dirty tricks to cut short Shane’s momentum. After raking Shane’s eyes in the corner, Jeter shoves him down to the mat and climbs up to the second rope as Shane crawls up on to his knees. With a smirk on his face, Jeter jumps down and connects with a double leg drop to the back of Shane’s head, and he rushes to turn the Cruiserweight Champion over as he goes for the cover, but Shane gets his shoulder up at the count of two. Jeter doesn’t look happy at the ref’s count and he lets him know it before turning the attention back to Shane and pummelling him with several blows to the head. The ref doesn’t like it and tells him to give it up, and he does. He stands back up and calmly reaches down to pull Shane back up before stomping him in the midsection and hammering away with a series of right hands that sends Shane back in to the ropes. Jeter then grabs him by the arm and whips him in to the opposite side, but as he runs in to the centre of the ring for a dropkick, Shane holds on to the ropes and watches as Jeter crash lands on the deck after dropkicking air. Shane takes a few deep breaths as Jeter sits up and slowly makes his way back up to a vertical base. Shane runs at him and takes him down with a clothesline, but Jeter rushes right back up to get levelled by another clothesline from the Cruiserweight Champion.

Once again Jeter is right back up, and Shane pounces on him, grabbing him around the waist from behind and planting him with a german suplex. The crowd get behind Shane as he then stands back up and urges Jeter to his feet, but Shane has to help him up. Once he has him up, he turns back to run the ropes, but as he runs back at his opponent, Jeter shows how quick he can be by jumping up in to the air and smashing him in the chest with a back elbow smash. Both men remain on the mat for a good ten seconds before they face other with Jeter throwing a wild right at Shane, but Shawn Michaels’ cousin ducks it and plants him with a side suplex to the satisfaction of the fans. Shane crawls in to the corner and uses the ropes to help him up where he starts to tune up the band with the crowd really getting behind him, but as Jeter starts to stir, boos echo around the arena as Kid Kash makes his way down the ramp. Shane’s opponent at Judgment Day walks up to the apron and catches the attention of Shane as he turns round. He doesn’t look happy to see Kash one bit as they exchange words with Jeter getting back up. Shane eventually turns back to face his opponent but panics as he sees he’s up, and as he runs at him, Jeter nails him with the Genesis Kick (Jumping Corkscrew Roundhouse Kick). He scurries across to make the cover, and he gets a huge victory.

WINNER: Johnny Jeter by pinfall @ 7.40.

AFTERMATH: “Time To Shine” hits as Jeter stands up to get his arm raised with a big smile on his face as Kash backs up the ramp with an equally big smile. Jeter walks over to the ropes and taunts the crowd as Shane starts to come round.

CM Punk is getting ready in his locker room, looking quite relaxed as he applies his elbow pads with boos coming from the arena. We then hear a door slam, catching Punk’s attention who looks up and shakes his head with a smirk on his face as Mr. Money in the Bank, MVP walks towards him, also getting booed by the fans inside the arena. MVP is dressed in a sharp suit with his briefcase in hand as Punk then asks him just what he can do for him. MVP isn’t amused and he tells Punk that he came to ask him the same thing. Punk looks confused, but MVP reminds him by bringing up the fact that Punk ran down to the ring last week and smashed Matt Hardy in the head with the briefcase. Punk grins as MVP then tells Punk that he wants to make it clear he doesn’t need anyone’s help to beat Matt Hardy or anyone else for that matter, and that’s why he’s got a world title shot whenever he feels like it. Punk smirks at the agitated MVP before telling him that from where he was standing, it looked like he (MVP) needed all the help he could get. He then acknowledges the briefcase and says that he’s not impressed by him one bit, and that if he had of been in the Money in the Bank ladder match at Wrestlemania instead of beating Jeff Hardy in to a bloody pulp, the briefcase would be in his hands. That doesn’t go down well with the agitated MVP who sarcastically asks Punk if that’s what he thinks, but Punk remains calm and tells him he’s about to go and do something he (MVP) couldn’t two weeks ago, and beat Elijah Burke all by himself. Punk then brushes past the pissed MVP to walk out of the locker room.

***Match #5***

Elijah Burke w/Layla vs CM Punk

ENDING:
With Matt Hardy at ringside commentating along with The Coach & Michael Cole, CM Punk has found himself getting distracted on occasions, and as he climbs through the ropes on to the apron in front of his Judgment Day opponent, he forgets about Burke. The Straight Edged Superstar turns round and smirks at the stone faced Hardy brother for a couple of seconds, and Matt is clearly livid from last week as he stands up and teases going for Punk who just laughs it off. As he turns back round to face the ring, Burke is just about back up on his feet, resulting in Punk acting quickly to go for a springboard clothesline, but Burke takes him by surprise as he connects with a standing dropkick to the upper body of Punk. That gets a big pop from the crowd as Burke looks to pick up the win, but Punk kicks out at two. Burke looks a little disappointed but quickly gets back on with things, standing back up and helping Punk back up to his feet before whipping him in to the ropes and planting him as he comes back with one heck of a lifting spinning sit down spinebuster. As he holds on for the cover, the referee makes the count as the expectant fans rise to their feet, but they’re left disappointed too as Punk lifts his shoulder up at the count of two once again. Burke takes a momentary breather as he pulls himself back up, and this time he does look a slightly frustrated. He then makes his way back up with Punk rolling on to his side at the same time.

Burke helps him back up again and levels him across the chest with some vicious backhand chops, sending Punk back in to the ropes. He then grabs him by the wrist and whips him in to the opposite set of ropes, and as Punk bounces back off, he runs at Punk and sends him crashing back down to the mat with a flying shoulder tackle. The crowd are really getting behind Burke know as he stands back up and urges Punk to do the same, and it doesn’t take long. The moment Punk is up, Burke spins him round in to a hard right hand and turns back to run the ropes, but as he comes back, Punk shows his fighting spirit with a spinning powerslam. He holds on for a cover as the referee makes the count, but Burke is the one to kick out this time before the hand can come down for three. It takes both men several seconds to get back up, and as they do, Punk levels Burke with a hard martial arts kick to the stomach before following up with a stiff kick to the back and another to the ribcage. Burke drops to his knees but Punk picks him back up and whips him in to the corner, and as he runs in for a high knee lift, Burke shifts out of the corner, but Punk manages to jump up to the second rope. As Burke turns round, Punk leaps off and takes him down with a spinning diving cross body, landing on top of him for a cover, but Burke pushes him off at two. Both men race to back up to their feet and Burke turns round in to a vicious roundhouse kick to the side of the head.

Burke just falls down in a heap as Punk grins for a second before dropping to his knees and making a complacent cover, but once again Burke kicks out at two. That was close and Punk knows it, and so does Layla who looks very relieved on the outside, but Punk has her locked in his sights as he stands back up. He stares at her as he walks over to the ropes, worrying Layla as she stands there looking back. Punk points at Burke as he stares at Layla, seeming to point out that he’s in trouble but he then turns back round to concentrate on his opponent, and he’s got Layla worried. She jumps up on to the apron, convinced her boyfriend is in deep trouble, but the referee walks over and tells her to get down as Punk turns round and sees her standing there. He gets a kick out of it and grabs her by the arm, causing her to fight back and slap him across the face. That gets a big pop, but Punk doesn’t take it as well as he grabs her by the side of the head. That sets Matt off on one as he leaps up from the announce table and throws his headset down as Burke starts to sit up in the ring. Matt races round the apron and pulls Layla down to safety, infuriating Punk who yells at his bitter rival with Matt giving as good as he gets. The ref tries to get things going again by telling Matt to back up, which he does, but as Punk turns round, Burke is back up and he kicks him in the gut before planting him with The Elijah Experience. A massive pop meets that as Burke hooks the leg with the referee making the three count to give a Burke a huge victory going in to Judgment Day and his match with MVP.

WINNER: Elijah Burke by pinfall @ 9.29.

AFTERMATH: “Don’t Waste My Time” blasts out to a big pop as Matt watches on with a big smile on his face from the outside. Layla climbs inside the ring and raises Burke’s arm in to the air before hugging him while Punk remains out of it on the canvas to the obvious satisfaction of Matt Hardy.

Josh Matthews
is standing by, and he introduces his guest, the WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Michael Shane. Cheers can be heard from the arena as the slightly frustrated, damp haired and fully changed Shane appears in shot with the title belt resting on his shoulder. Josh reminds us all how Kid Kash cost him his match earlier on with Johnny Jeter and asks Shane if the challenger to his title at Judgment Day is starting to get in to his head. Shane says that Kash can play all the mind games he wants but it’s not gonna change the fact that if he wants to become the Cruiserweight Champion at Judgment Day, he’s going to have to rely on more than mind games, he’s going to have to bring his best because he (Shane) sure as hell. Josh pulls the microphone back and is about to say something when Shane is jumped and knocked to the floor. The camera zooms out to show The Notorious K.I.D. pummelling away at Shane with boots to the back as Josh steps back. Shane is helpless as he lies on the floor, and Kash grins before asking Shane if that’s what he wants. He sn-iggers and turns round to walk out of the shot as Shane starts to squirm with Josh checking if he’s okay.

Non Title Match
Shawn Michaels vs Chavo Guerrero

ENDING:
With Michaels in the ascendency after a Lou Thesz press, the World Champion stands back up and waits with his fists held up as Chavo makes his way back up to his feet. As he stands up and turns to face HBK, he is met with a jab to the face, and then another before Michaels turns back to run the ropes, but as he comes back looking for a flying forearm, Chavo ducks to his knees as Michaels goes flying over him for a crash landing. Chavo sits up with a satisfied grin on his face, and he doesn’t hesitate in roughing up HBK as he makes his way back up and stomps all over the World Champion, really putting the boots to him. Chavo stops and raises his arms in to the air while ducking to his knees, taunting Michaels and the crowd, and boy does he get some heat. He doesn’t care less as he stands back up looking very smug while walking in to the corner where he then climbs up to the top rope as Shawn starts to make his way up to his feet. Michaels holds his chest as he stands up, and as he turns round, Chavo leaps off the top and connects with a missile dropkick, and The Mexican Warrior scurries across the mat to make a cover, but Michaels kicks out at two which is greeted by a cheer from his San Antonio fans.

Chavo doesn’t look to waste a second as he picks himself back up and immediately reaches down to drag Michaels back up, setting him up for a suplex, and he hits it too. He’s not happy with just one as he takes a page out of his Uncle Eddie’s book with a twist of the hips to land a second suplex and then a third to complete the Three Amigo’s. It doesn’t go down as well with the crowd as it does with Chavo, grinning widely as he sits up and looks up in to the stands before going for a lazy cover, but it’s an easy kick out for HBK. Chavo thinks he has the match won as he walks back in to the corner and climbs up to the top rope before leaping off for the Frog Splash, but Shawn rolls to the side as Chavo crash lands like Michaels did earlier on. Michaels starts to make his way back up, followed by the weaker looking Chavo with Michaels finding his feet and pulling Chavo up in to an inverted atomic drop. With Chavo jumping up and down on the spot, Michaels scoops him up and slams him back down to the mat before taking a walk of his own in to the corner and making the climb up to the summit of the top rope. With the San Antonio natives rising to their feet and cheering on their hometown hero, The Heartbreak Kid leaps off the top rope and connects with a diving elbow drop in to the chest of Chavo Guerrero.

With the fans continuing to scream like crazy, Michaels flips up and steps back in to the corner where he starts to tune up the band. Chavo slowly makes his way back up, and as he gets to his feet, Michaels explodes out of the corner and looks to nail the super kick, but Chavo ducks his head. Both men turn round quickly, and Chavo jumps up to plant Shawn with a tornado DDT. The fans are stunned as Chavo then reaches his arm out across Michaels’ chest for a cover, but HBK lifts his shoulder up before the ref could count to three. Chavo lifts his head up and looks stunned, and as he slowly stands back up, Michaels rolls over on to his side. Chavo looks to finish the match off as he drags Shawn up and pulls him in to place for a Brainbuster. As he tries to lift Shawn up, HBK blocks it with his foot and then stuns Chavo by connecting with a suplex of his own, getting a pop from the crowd. Michaels pleases them even more as he holds on and twists his hips like the late great Eddie Guerrero before nailing two more suplexes for the Three Amigo’s, sending the Texas crowd wild. Chavo rolls on to his side and starts to pick himself back up, looking in some pain as HBK makes his way back up, urging Chavo up, and as the Mexican stands up and turns round, Michaels takes his head off with a super kick. The fans go nuts as they stand up to watch Michaels make the cover and pick up the win.

WINNER: Shawn Michaels by pinfall @ 9.42.

AFTERMATH: “Sexy Boy” blasts out to the delight of everyone inside The Freeman Coliseum as Michaels is passed his World Heavyweight Championship by the referee. He lifts it up in to the air as he gets his arm raised and Chavo rolls to the outside. HBK then walks in to the corner and climbs up to the second rope to celebrate his victory with his hometown crowd. The fans give him a huge ovation, but as he steps down off the ropes and turns to face the stage, his music stops and the lights go out with just white spotlights still on. The tron starts to flicker and we then see The Undertaker stood in a dark part of the arena. He says that the time is nearly upon us, the time has come for the show to be stopped, and that the show will be stopped at Judgment Day when Shawn Michaels and his world title will reign rest in peace. “Deadman’s Symphony” then plays to a mixed reception as the tron flickers once again with Michaels standing in the ring, clutching his title belt and not looking intimidated at all as the show comes to a close.
