Default EWE (Extreme Wrestling Entertainment) by LegendofBaseball

Hey all, it's been a more than a month now since I opened my first BTB, entitled "LegendofBaseball presents WWE: the New Era Finally Begins...". Although I was very much into the project, I felt as if WWE based BTBs were a bit too prevalent in this forum, so, I worked on another project which I'm unveiling here today. Hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy working at it, feedback is more than welcomed.

-----------------------------------------

EWE
(Extreme Wrestling Entertainment)

...With the fledging and oversatured world of wrestling not being led anywhere specific by the number 1 promotion in the world today, the WWE, a new wrestling promotion is set to emerge from the ashes and set a real, competing alternative for the WWE. The origins of this new company, the EWE (Extreme Wrestling Entertainment), began a little more than 9 months ago. At WWE Wrestlemania 23, Vincent Kennedy McMahon Jr. had asked the help of Donald J. Trump in an attempt to bring media attention to his yearly extravaganza. Mr. Trump was very familiar with Wrestlemanias, as he hosted two in '88 & '89 at his Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, NJ, and, had appeared at Wrestlemania VII in the front row while it was taking place in Los Angeles in 1991. It had been more than 16 years since Mr. Trump had been officialy seen on WWE television. And, he was glad to help out a friend. But, in his heart, he really felt as if the product he once backed up, was worth way more than it is today. And, while being involved with the storylines behind himself being involved at Wrestlemania, Donald J. Trump came in contact with Vince McMahon's only son, Shane McMahon. They had several talks with each other, Shane mostly mentioning to Mr. Trump that the directions the company was sometimes taking, didn't fit too well with him and that his father rarely relied on his ideas to put forth in the company. One example that was explained long and large by Shane to Mr. Trump was the rebirth of the ECW brand of wrestling. Shane had tried to convince his father to tour the brand around the United States in small venues to give it a feel of what it once was, but, his father wouldn't have none of it and made it is own, which, in the eyes of many involved and not, was a bad business decision.

Now, 8 months later, rumors have been circulating after Shane McMahon, the heir apparent to the McMahon Family Empire, quit his job as the head of Media Relations and the Marketing Department. Wrestling journalists worldwide tried getting interviews with the young man but, the only information available to the public was that Shane McMahon had quit due to "unhappiness" within the ranks of WWE Inc..

What happened next was even the more shocking. On December 31st 2007, live from the Trump Tower in New York City, Donald J. Trump held a private press conference, calling out to all the wresting publications, journalists, websites and such, not letting anything be known before the press conference as to why he invited so many wrestling related personalities. PWI, Meltzer and the likes all traveled to the Big Apple on New Year's Eve to hear of this news. And as the Press Conference started, a huge banner, sporting the letters "E W E" appeared before everyone. The company's name was to be called "Extreme Wrestling Entertainment". Donald Trump briefly explained what the concept was. A company that would take each letter of its name, the "Extreme", the "Wrestling" and the "Entertainment" and get out of these names the best product possible. He said that competition in business is always healthy, maybe not always for the men in power, but for the people, and he said that over the many years he's been working, developping and selling property, his one main goal was to satisfy the client by any which way he could. Not because the client rules his business, but because, out of integrity to present his clients with the best products possible, the voice of the people is of the outmost importance. He said that he wasn't going to be alone in this voyage, and, to the audience's utter disbelief, that man was none other than Shane McMahon.

He talked candidly about himself quitting the WWE. Stating the obvious, his, total lack of passion for his work. And now, acting at 25 % to 75 % of Donald Trump's ownership, they would bring the sport of professional wrestling back to where it once was. Not by reinventing the wheel, and not by "giving the people what they want" and then not doing it, but, by putting a wrestling show that puts wrestling and entertainment on the same level. He said that, as of now, their first ever show was to be scheduled for Saturday January 26th at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, just a few blocks away from where they were at the moment. Many a reporters asked, "why not have your first show on a Sunday night like the tradition states?". To that, Shane answered simply, "Because, our motto is, accessibility, and, why couldn't Saturdays be days for wrestling events?". Shane also stated that their event would be called "Retaliation" and would be shown exclusively on PPV, worth 15 $ and lasting close to 3 hours in length. Shane was asked if the name of the PPV was a direct hit at the WWE, and, Shane responded that, "No matter what we do, it'll always seem as though we are taking hits at the WWE, but, unlike what many people have been saying, and although my dad and my family weren't aware of what I was going to embark on, there is going to be no fighting and no bickering in our family tonight when the New Year rolls along. It's just a matter of me living out my life. Not trying to live it out for someone else."

In closing, Donald Trump took the stage once more and announced the official opening of the EWE's official website, EWE_Pro_Wrestling.Com, stating that, in the coming days, all leading up to the big event on the 26th, news concerning the company's hirings and, many more info, would be added and posted on there. Also, he mentioned that the fans that subscribed for 0,99 $ a year, would be able to receive promotional videos for events, merchandising sales coupons and, advanced ticket sales, as, after the 26th of January, the EWE would embark on a road of traveling the United States and, as time would have it, across the world. "Expect big things, although I'm not here to declare war on anyone... some things that happen in the next couple of days, and weeks, will probably lead you to believe so, it's business, and nothing but business, nothing's personal here. It is not even a fight between two rich men, it is only a competition that will revitalize the Wrestling industry, nothing more, nothing less. Have yourselves a Happy New Year's, and drive home safely", finished off Donald Trump, lifting his arm in the air, giving the "peace & love" sign to the people who had come for this press conference, before he and Shane posed for the cameras and then left.

So, the EWE, at the helm of it, Donald J. Trump, a man of great action, determination and knowledge, and, Shane McMahon, a young thinker, full of heart, and passion for the business. What will come out of this whole experience? No one can really tell, one thing's for sure, competition will be brought upon the WWE, and, the winners are going to be the fans...
