The angle that will come out of it will see Triple H blaming Vince, since he made the announcement and that Punk will get some kind of push off of his title match.

From all accounts Raw tonight will see the start of the major storyline we mentioned several weeks ago. It appears that it could be based around the Triple H/Mr. McMahon rivalry, although it is still being kept top secret, with only a few insiders knowing what will go down, which is said to be an absolute bombshell that will change the face of Raw for the next several months at least.

The build up to the Survivor Series will also start and it is being said that the show will feature several traditional elimination matches, and possibly the most star filled one ever too.

One of the big talking points from the show last night is that we saw the return of the Save_Us. videos, indicating that Chris Jericho has indeed signed a WWE contract and will be returning soon, although no plans for his return have been disclosed and will most likely remain that way. On another interesting note, it appears that Ric Flair has settled his differences with the WWE and will be making a return soon, but again, we are not aware of what is in store for him when he does return. We have heard absolutely nothing about the status of Shawn Michaels either as he continues to take a break from the road. With Jeff Hardy & Punk getting a push on Raw, don’t expect to see him make a return very soon.

Back to last night and while it was considered a big shock, Jeff Hardy’s win over Mr. Kennedy was seen to work out best for both of them. Jeff’s work rate and performances lately have been better that at any other point in his career and he is on the verge of becoming a top star on Raw, causing a stir on whether Shawn Michaels or Chris Jericho will return to the brand in the near future. Creative decided that a win over Kennedy would really give Jeff the attention he deserves and make it a springboard for what he does next, while keeping his Intercontinental title run going. Kennedy’s loss was seen as no big deal to creative as he hasn’t really hit the heights on Raw yet, but is considered a main event waiting to happen, and losing in a ladder match to Jeff wouldn’t hurt him as much as a normal match would have. This was the reason behind Kennedy’s interview after the match last night.

Many people were shocked to see Finlay get the rub over Rey Mysterio too last night, but it has been said that a steel cage match was the expected match stipulation and had that been the case, Rey would have gone over Finlay. The only reason that Finlay did defeat Rey was that it was seen that Finlay could not use the words “I Quit” due to his character, that is why Rey lost in the manner he did, being knocked out by a high impact chair shot from Finlay. Rey didn’t have any problems losing in this way as it wasn’t down to him doing a job and it keeps the feud going a little longer. With Rey having lost to Chavo Guerrero last year, it was also seen that he couldn’t quit either and that was the reason behind the unexpected finish.

The most controversial angle of the night was in the highly anticipated clash between Matt Hardy & MVP. With opinions split, no one knew how this was going to go and it seems creative were going to take the flack for it. The decision was made as it was felt that the feud has a lot more gas left in the tank and that MVP isn’t quite ready for the step up with Edge having just come back to the brand, and an extended run as US Champion would help him get more credibility. The reason for Matt’s chair shot and disqualification was to keep Matt over too and extend the feud with MVP retaining in as most controversial fashion as possible, but showing Matt can beat him too.

The Open House rules continue until the end of the year and with Jeff & Punk getting decent pushes on Raw, it is said that not only the likes of Jericho, Michaels and Flair could be switching brand when they return, but also injured stars like John Cena, Bobby Lashley & Gregory Helms, plus big stars currently on the rosters could also switch. The injured superstars could possibly make a return and announce that they will debut as soon as they are healthy. Only Lashley could return before the end of the year and appear on television in competitive action.

Mick Foley impressed backstage with his performance as Smackdown General Manager last week and is considered to be a possibility to take over permanently, although no decision has been made yet. Other names being mentioned to have a trial run are Dusty Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, JBL, Eric Bischoff, The Coach and also William Regal who showed his displeasure at being over ruled last night, meaning a switch is possible.

On the TNA front, Booker T indeed made his much speculated debut at the Impact tapings. The WWE are said to be not even slightly bothered about Booker going over there and feel that their ratings will never surpass 1.2 following the debuts of Kurt Angle, Sting & Christian Cage with ratings still remaining at the same figure.

That’s all for now folks and stay tuned for more updates.
