Re: Seabs presents: WWE: Starting A New Era
Okay, until I read the last sentence of this post, I thought it was a whole show. Then, halfway thru it I kinda figured it was a recap, but I wasn't sure. It was definatley short, but it's the booking that matters, not exactly if they were fully written or not.
Let's get to the feedbacking, mortal...
619s Feedback For Seabs' Friday Night Smackdown!
To kick off, this was a very awkward opening promo. Kennedy was in character for one line, then slipped out of character the next, then was back in character-and Booker the same. I didn't feel the animosity betwen the two, or any energy. I know it was a recap, but the promos that you did do didn't have much feeling.
Noble/Moore struck me as odd since it was one of the only matches fully written out-that was explained later, and I like that Moore is getting a simi-push here-but the Helms intervention could've been done without. It didn't do a whole lot for me, anyway.
This Edge promo was again, off. He slipped in and out of character with certain lines and actions. Sort of an unoriginal thought I've seen in these parts-an Edge coalition of members, something I'm seeing more and more of in this section-nonetheless, glad to see Edge at least on the mike again.
Meh, not much to say except I'm not sure who was getting the mini push-the relativley new team of Burch & Taylor, or DnD.
This was an awkward segment...I'm not sure if it was supposed to sound like it did, but it didn't sound like there was much friction between these guys at all. Jeff didn't speak on his brother's behalf, but Finlay and Edge ganged up on Matt verbaly, yet he out deuled them...okay...
Morrison/Richards, squash. An open challenge sounds like a great way to get him in a nice rivalry with someone unexpected on the roster...or someone who's not...
Teddy/Edge seg here was kinda awkward. The beginning didn't make sense with the 'baby' references by Krystal, and I thought Edge said Rey wouldn't be back for a couple weeks? he's only gone for one week, cuz next week apparently he's facing MVP. Okay at best, I guess it did what it was supposed to and that's make matches for the next card.
Shelton/Daivair...SQASH. Nuff said.
The 6-man tag match had plenty of hype surrounding it, I can tell ya that, but pretty weird b/c we didn't see Batista all thruought the night, and he's in the ME as well. The match may have gotten the exposure, but not the particpants-you see what I'm saying? Solid at best, looks to bring something bit at SNME.
FINAL THOUGHTS-DEFINATLEY HAD IT'S WEAK POINTS, STILL GOOD FOR A RECAP. It had it's awkward moments, mainly the backstage promo between the ME participants earlier in the show. MVP just jumps out with the 'shining star' line for apparently no reason, ya know? Of course, I wish the matches could've been written out, but it's really the booking that matters here. It was solid overall, nothing really standing out at me.
OVERALL: 6.5/10 Needs tweeking, a little.
