RAW PREVIEW (15TH OCTOBER 2007)
ORTON & VINCE SCREW THE GAME AGAIN
Mr. McMahon was not content with Triple H losing the WWE Championship at No Mercy as last week on Raw he put The Game into a No Disqualification match with the Samoan Bulldozer Umaga. With Randy Orton clearly not able to put The Game to the back of his head either, he stormed down to ringside and helped Umaga in what basically became a Handicap match to cost Triple H the match. The King of Kings must be livid, just what price will Mr. McMahon and the WWE Champion have to pay when Raw strolls into the United Kingdom?
FANS TO PICK WHO GETS A WWE TITLE SHOT
After ECW superstars joined Raw or Smackdown last week, the ECW Champion CM Punk found himself in a difficult situation. With his title reign up in the air, Mr. McMahon stripped him of the ECW Championship, but did announce that at Cyber Sunday, the fans will vote for who faces the WWE Champion Randy Orton for a shot at the gold. He also made CM Punk the first man eligible to be chosen by the fans, and he also promised that we would find out who the other two possible challengers would be this week on Raw. Just who will the Chairman of the Board choose?
JEFF VS KENNEDY IS ON FOR CYBER SUNDAY
After a difficult few weeks, Mr. Kennedy managed to get a pinfall victory over the Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy last week on Raw. Clearly not content with just the win as he went to Raw GM, he was granted his requested for a shot at Jeff’s title at Cyber Sunday. With the fans being able to choose what match they have, it promises to be an interesting week as the two men will meet head on in a tag match. Kennedy also had a run in with Mr. McMahon Jr, inadvertently knocking him over. One has to wonder if there will be any repercussions for the egotistical superstar.
CARLITO WELCOMES CODY TO THE CABANA
When it comes to losing, Carlito is not the best at handling defeat, and that proved the case last week when he was on the end of a shock defeat to Cody Rhodes. In typical Carlito fashion, he attacked Cody after the bell to prove what a bad loser he is. And we have learnt that this week on Raw, he has invited Cody to join him on Carlito’s Cabana, an offer which Cody has accepted. The two will also meet later on in a tag team match which sees Carlito team up with Mr. Kennedy to face Cody and Jeff Hardy. Sparks are sure to fly this week!
CHAMPS IN SHOCK LOSS
Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch suffered a shock defeat last week, when along with The Highlanders, they were beaten by Paul London & Brian Kendrick’s tag team partners, Tommy Dreamer & Stevie Richards. It was Dreamer who picked up the pinfall on Cade just hours after he and Richards rejoined the brand from the closed ECW. This week, Lance Cade will try and put that defeat behind him as he goes one on one with Dreamer. Can the ECW legend gain another upset or prove that he and Richards are up to the challenge?
MICKIE TO FACE THE PHOENIX
Last Monday night, Mickie James won a Divas Battle Royal to become the number one contender to the new WWE Womens Champion’s title at Cyber Sunday. Watching at ringside, the new champion Beth Phoenix was shocked to see Victoria attack Mickie after she was eliminated by the new number one contender. This week we will see Mickie and Victoria go at it one on one to see if Mickie can get a boost before she continues her quest to regain the Womens Championship.
BURKE MAKES RAW DEBUT
The ever confident Elijah Burke was one of several ECW superstars moved over to Raw last week, and it didn’t take long for him to impose himself. In a confrontation with Val Venis and “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, he managed to wind Duggan up the wrong way, who had to be held back by Venis. We have been told that Raw GM William Regal has made a match this week between Duggan and Burke. Will the cocky superstar be able to back up his words in the ring this week?
SANTINO UP TO HIS OLD TRICKS AGAIN
It has become obvious that Santino Marella has a fondness for Divas and after being knocked back by his “friend” Maria last week to share the night together, he tried it on with Torrie Wilson, who too rejected his advances quite harshly. Santino seemed to accept the knock back well until he then pushed Torrie into the wall, claiming it was an accident. Will the Italian be up to his old tricks again this week in the UK?
Last Friday night on Smackdown, we learnt that until the end of the year, superstars are able to switch shows if they so wish in what Stephanie McMahon has called an “Open House Period”. With that news ringing in several superstars ears, will we see any superstars arrive or depart Raw? It sure will be interesting in Birmingham, England this Monday night!
