I would've liked more psychology in these matches but the athleticism is amazing.
That first X Title match was amazing. Particularly the last 15 minutes or so where it was down to AJ/Lynn. It really did remind me of Savage/Steamboat.

And yes, West has come A LONG WAY since the early days of TNA. At least now he knows the names of the moves.

I would definately recommend Best of AJ Styles Vol 1. There are definately a few old gems from the early days of TNA. The first X title match, the triple ladder match with Low Ki and Lynn, and the singles matches with Amazing Red, Sean Waltman, D'Lo Brown, Low Ki, and Abyss are definately worth a look as well. We also get the two matches in which AJ won the NWA World title, both of which are pretty good.

I would also suggest picking up Best of AMW if you can get your hands on it. The feud with the New Church resulted in some pretty cool tag matches, and the first ever cage match with XXX is on there as well. The matches with Diamond and Swinger were pretty damn good as well. Also included is a forgotten classic in Chris Harris vs. Jeff Jarrett for the World title and a match between Harris and Storm from an Indy fed which got them noticed by TNA.

And its funny because the AMW DVD goes up to the very first Impact on FSN where they won back the tag titles. I actually think they have enough material to do a Best of AMW Vol. 2 if they wanted what with thier matches with Team Canada, The Naturals, Triple X, AJ/Daniels, and LAX all taking place since then. They could also end the DVD with the Texas Deathmatch between Harris and Storm from Sacrifice.
