Re: The Dark Knight' Official Discussion Thread
Saturday, August 25
This is what they shot today:
* A Memorial service with craploads of Gotham Police and Pedestrians in front of
* Chicago Board of Trades (around Adams & LaSalle)
* Commissioner Loeb is definately being “honored” today (AKA … it’s HIS Memorial)
* Someone is giving speech at the podium (I thought it was Lt. Gordan at first but now think it MIGHT be the Mayor)
* Speaker steps aside as a 21 Gun salute is given
* On last round of gunshots, the Joker (disguised as Policeman on stage) rushes the speaker
* Cops and bystanders scatter crazily
And they shot this over … and over … and over …
Actors who were on hand:
* Aaron Eckhart
* Gary Oldman
* Heath Ledger
* Maggie Gyllanhall
* Anthony Michael Hall
* (Not sure if Christian Bale was involved … didn’t see him)
Here are some of my pics:
This is the scene: Podium & Stage in back. Eventually a CRAPload of cops & pedestrians filled the street:

All of the Extras getting the HELL out of there after filming ended:

Aaran Eckhart taking a few snapshots of nearby building (architecture buff?) and then leaving:

Heath Ledger in Cop Tie and Shirt just as he arrived by SUV. You can kinda see his scar (and it looks like no white makeup is on). Also, as he walked towards the stage, he did this weird hopping & stepping move … like a crazy person. As he left the set, his SUV went RIGHT past me … didn’t have my camera out so I blew it, because he was RIGHT THERE. He also seemed on edge or nervous as he smoked his cigarette:

Anthony Michael Hall (who is NOT Riddler!!) was in a trenchcoat (maybe a reporter?) and was VERY nice. Signed autographs, shook hands, took pictures … something tells me he’s LOVING this stardom rehash:

All reports are true … Gary Oldman is SUPER nice. He signed lots of stuff and posed for pictures, all with a smile and a thank you … good guy:

Joker and Catwoman in third ‘Batman’?
According to a report on Cinema Blend, Heath Ledger will return as The Joker in the third Batman film and Catwoman will also be part of the line-up.
With the introduction of Harvey Dent - played by Aaron Eckhart - in next year’s The Dark Knight (the second installment in director Chris Nolan’s trilogy of Batman films), it seems likely that his alter ego Two-Face will be the third film’s main villain. According to this new report, the Joker will survive film 2 to make an appearance in 3, while a hint of Catwoman will be dropped in 2 for the character to take part in the action of 3.
Despite the fact that The Dark Knight is still months away, it has been established that screenwriter Jonathan Nolan has already begun preliminary work on the third script.
