Default Re: Welcome to the Indys

Well here we go with the first show, I think it came together nicely. I’m a little rusty at putting the matches together, as it has been awhile. The matches are in an extended recap form, going over the main points. I’ll post my synopsis and why I made the decisions I did in two days. All reviews will be returned as soon as I can, thanks.

RWF

The Point of No Return

West Philadelphia, Lake Side Recreational Center

Attendance: 65 people

The show starts out with Travis coming to the ring, but the crowd not really knowing who he is. He gets in the ring and takes a mic.

Travis: Well, not much I want to say, but I’m Travis; and I’m the one who put this whole thing together. I want to thank my Uncle for backing this thing up finically, and my friends who helped set all this shit up. Well I’m not going ramble on, but we got some great wrestling matches for you; and lets get this son of a bitch rolling.

Opening Match: Drake Younger vs. Joker

As Travis leaves the ring “Protect Your Neck” by Wu-Tang hits as Joker comes out to the ring. Joker comes out to a small pop as he goes around to slap high fives with the fans. Once Joker gets in the ring “Whatever” by Godsmack blares through the P.A. Drake Younger comes down to the ring to a nice pop. A few fans are standing up chanting “Drake.” Drake goes around and tries to get the fans up and into the show. Drake rolls into his corner, as him and Joker have a stare down.

This match was what Strong Style wrestling is about. The match started out slowly as both men tried to test each other to find their weaknesses. The feeling out process didn’t get much done, as both men would find ways to reverse the other’s holds. The match turned in Drake’s favor as he began to overpower Joker. He threw some sick chops to the chest of Joker, and went to town on him with a series of punches. The only problem was the Joker would not back down. After every blow Joker would get right back into the face of Drake. The match turned when Joker bounced off the ropes and delivered a huge double kick to the chest of Drake, sending out to the floor between the ropes. Joker climbed to the top turnbuckles and, flew through the air, crashing down on Drake with a crossbody. At this point the crowd began to cheer more for Joker. Joker took control of the match while on the outside. He went to work on the shoulder of Drake by sending him shoulder first into the metal ring post several times. Joker wrapped Drake’s arm around the ring post and got a chair and was about to crash Drake’s arm, but Drake give a quick kick the gut of Joker. Drake takes control and gives a series of forearms to Joker, and eventually gives a nasty head butt causing Joker to fall back into a chair. Drake takes a few steps back and comes running and delivers a huge left-handed punch to Joker, causing him and the chair to flip over. The crowd is getting hot for the match as Joker is out on the ground. Drake gets Joker in the ring and goes for a pin and only gets a TWO count. Drake tries to end the match by setting up Joker for the Vertebreaker, but Joker gets his way out and runs off the ropes to deliver a huge lariat to Drake. Both men were out at this point and the crowd was coming alive for all the hard work both men were showing. Joker gets to his feet and pulls Drake to the middle of the ring, and goes up to the top turnbuckle. Joker jumps off to give a huge double stomp, landing right on the chest of Drake. Joker goes for a pin, but only gets a TWO count. Joker looks a little agitated, but grabs Drake and locks in the Anaconda Vice. Joker has the hold locked in, and Drake is stuck in the center of the ring. The crowd is split in some chants of “Please Don’t Tap” and “Tap.” Drake tries to crawl his way to the ropes, but he has taken a lot of punishment. Drake is about a foot away from touching the ropes, but his hand goes down. Joker continues to put the pressure on, and the referee comes to check on Drake. He picks up Drake’s arm and it falls back to the mat. He picks it up a second time and once again it falls down to the mat. He picks it up for the final three count and lets it drop, but at the last second Drake gets control of his arm and pulls it up. He works his way to the ropes and is finally able to grab a hold of the bottom rope. The ref breaks the hold as Joker begins to get pissed. He steps back and takes off his elbow pad looking for a huge lariat to shut down Drake. Drake slowly gets to his feet and Joker bounces off the ropes coming after Drake. Joker gets inches away from nailing the lariat, when Drake ducks down under it. Joker turns around and gets a swift kick in the gut. Drake grabs Joker and sets up the Vertebreaker, and lifts Joker up. Drake slams Joker down the mat as his neck folds on impact. Drake rolls over for the cover and is able to get the three count.

Drake Younger defeats Joker via pin fall at 17:89.

Both men are out on the mat, as most of the crowd is on their feet clapping for the opening performance. Drake makes his way to his feet, as Joker uses the ropes to get back up. Drake comes over and extends his hand out, and Joker just stands there for a few seconds. Joker finally offers the handshake as he raises Drakes hand in victory. The crowd shows their appreciation for both men with chants of “Drake” and “Joker.”

Gran Akuma vs. Hallowicked

“Bombtrack” by Rage Against The Machine comes on, and Gran Akuma makes his way to the ring. He receives a small pop, but it isn’t much. “Funeral Fog” by Mayhem comes over and Hallowicked makes his way out to a nice size pop. He comes to the ring trying to get the people going. Both men give each other a quick handshake before the match starts.

This was a fast paced match with both men showing their athleticism. The early part saw a lot of quick reversals, and the will of both men to try and get the victory. Throughout the match neither man could really gain an advantage. They could get in a few offensive moves, but the other man would fire back with his own offense. The match took off when Hallowicked hit a huge hurricanrana out of nowhere. With Gran Akuma down, Hallowicked climbed to the top turnbuckle. Hallowicked jumped off with a moonsault, but Akuma moved out of the way at the last second. Akuma gets up and begins giving some intense, stiff kicks to the midsection of Hallowicked. Akuma showed no stopping and continued to kick Hallowicked until he got he trapped in the corner. With Hallowicked trapped in the corner, Akuma continued to give him some stiff kicks. Akuma continues to kick away, until Hallowicked grabs his leg and pushes it away. Hallowicked grabs Akuma’s head, and jumps off the second rope and gives a quick spinning DDT. Akuma’s head crashes into the mat, and Hallowicked goes for the quick cover but only gets a TWO. Hallowicked gets a little revenge by stomping at Akuma, while he is on the mat. Hallowicked jumps off the second rope giving a lionsault, and hooks the leg for a pin but only gets a TWO. Hallowicked gets up and holds his head wondering how he can put this away, as Akuma wisely rolls out on the side of the apron. Akuma slowly stands up on the outside of the ropes, as Hallowicked comes over to get him. As Hallowicked comes over, Akuma ducks down and thrusts his shoulder into the gut of Hallowicked. Hallowicked bends over, and Akuma jumps over the ropes and slams Hallowicked down with a sun-set flip, and tries to go for a pin but only gets a TWO. Akuma picks up Hallowicked and tries to give him a German suplex, but Hallowicked flips over and lands on his feet. Hallowicked then jumps up and gives him a dropkick to the back of Akuma’s head, which causes him to go headfirst into the turnbuckle. Hallowicked comes over and lifts Akuma up and places him on the top turnbuckle. Hallowicked then steps back and looks to be setting Akuma up for a step up top rope hurricanrana. Hallowicked comes running, and jumps up to the top rope; but Akuma grabs his legs. Akuma gives some punches to the side of Hallowicked, and keeps him stuck on the top turnbuckle. Akuma stands up on the top turnbuckle as well, and gets Hallowicked in position. Akuma lifts Hallowicked up and gives him a super falcon arrow. Hallowicked crashes down on the mat, and Akuma hooks the leg for the pin; and is able to the THREE count.

Gran Akuma defeats Hallowicked via pinfall at 11:67.

Chuck Taylor/Ricochet
vs. Arik Cannon/Jigsaw

“Rock Box” by RUN-DMC comes over as Taylor and Richot make their way to the ring. Ricochet makes his was to the ring by jumping over the place and getting the crowd ready for the match. Taylor seems like he doesn’t even want to be there and just walks past the fans and slides in the ring. “God Save the Queen” by the Sex Pistols comes on as Arik Cannon and Jigsaw make their way to the ring. Both men go around and give high fives to the crowd.

This was a fun tag match between the two teams. There was a mixture of high flying and steady mat wrestling. Ricochet and Jigsaw gave the crowd a lot of breath taking highflying moves. In the early part Taylor was on the outside fighting off Jigsaw and Cannon, as Ricochet flipped over the ropes taking the opponents down. Crowd seemed to be behind the team of Taylor/Ricochet. When the action got back in the ring the team of Jigsaw and Cannon isolated Ricochet from his corner and were able to work over him. Cannon gave a series of hard head butts that echoes through the arena. Cannon climbs to the top rope, as Jigsaw slams Ricochet down to the mat with a suplex. Cannon jumps off and lands on Ricochet with a heavy senton. Cannon goes for a quick cover, but Taylor comes in to break it up. Taylor then takes his fight to both Cannon, and the two begin going at it with a series of punches and forearms. The ref gets control of the two and tries to put Taylor back into his corner. Cannon and Jigsaw work on Ricochet some more, but he is finally able to roll his way over to tag in Taylor. Taylor gets the hot tag and comes in with a head full of steam. Taylor takes out both Cannon and Jigsaw with a series of closelines. Taylor throws Jigsaw to the outside and goes after Cannon. Taylor is relentless in his attack and just gives some straight rights to the head of Cannon. The ref keeps trying to break it up, but Taylor refuses to stop. Taylor picks up Cannon and slams his down, and signals for Ricochet to go up top for the double moonsault. Ricochet goes up top, but Jigsaw comes up and pushes him off of the top rope. Taylor goes after Jigsaw, but gets met with spinning heel kick that knocks him to the outside. Jigsaw goes over and gives some chops to the chest of Ricochet. Cannon slowly comes back to his senses and comes over and gives Ricochet a snapmare. Jigsaw comes running off the ropes and gives a huge shinning wizard, that whiplashes Ricochet’s head back. The ref quickly gets down to check on the condition of Ricochet as it looks like he could’ve been knocked out. Taylor gets back in the ring, and gives a step up enzurguri to Cannon, and knocks him out of the ring. Then, to the crowd’s surprise, Taylor drops down and gives a low blow shot to Jigsaw. The ref doesn’t know what is going on as he is attending to Ricochet. Taylor rolls Jigsaw up, and yells at the ref to count. The ref turns, and not knowing what had happened, and gives the three count to Taylor.

Chuck Taylor/Ricochet defeat Arik Cannon/Jigsaw via pinfall at 11:30

The crowd boos Taylor as he stands up looking proud of his work. Ricochet gets to his feet, and apparently saw what Taylor did, and confronts him. Taylor responds with a “Who Cares” and pushes Ricochet out of his way. Taylor walks at of the ring with a smug smile on his face.

“Paint if Black” by The Rolling Stones comes on as The Iron Saints make their way to the ring getting some crowd heat. Vito and Sal go around and give fake high fives to the fans, and knock their drinks out of their hands. They roll into the ring and Vito grabs a mic.

Vito: Wow, I forgot how much I actually hated this damn city. Coming to these kinds of places reminds me why I drink.

Crowd gives him some heat

Vito: Just because they closet action you have ever gotten is going on Google, doesn’t mean you have to be mad at us.

The boos grow louder

Vito: I see a struck a little nerve there, I won’t even get started on the last time your teams won anything.

Chants of “Shut the Fuck Up” go on.

Vito: Show some damn respect, I didn’t come out here to talk to you inbreed apes. I came here to talk about our match. Now we were suppose to face the Philly smoking or whatever crack headed team of BLK OUT.

Crowd pops for BLK OUT

Vito: But you see, like so many teams they were to scared to even come here. They didn’t even want to bother with us, cause they knew they would’ve just been embarrassed like your beloved Eagles. You see we are like the T.O. of wrestling, were just that damn good.

Crowd gives some big heat.

Vito: But that’s not the point, I’m going be generous and allow someone to come down to this ring and get it on with me

Crowd kind of laughs at the comment

Vito: Wait, no, that’s not what I meant you pervs. But you see my partner had a little bit of a rough night, and he isn’t in the mood to get in the ring with some loser.

Crowd chants “Sal likes cock,” and Sal runs around the ring putting his hands up trying to yell at everyone that he loves pussy.

Vito: Don’t worry about them Sal, the closet thing to a pussy these losers have come to was when they were born.

Crowd gives them some more heat

Vito: But, if you all were stop distracting me I can get out what I want to. Me, the legendary Vito Thomaselli, am leaving out an open challenge to anyone here in Philly.

Crowd seems confused at it, but some fans try to stand up to accept his challenge.

Vito: How about you fatty, you want to step in the ring with me? Or how about you, yeah you the one who looks like you’ve been beaten with the ugly stick a couple of times. Or you, you can bring you and your baby in here, I’ll take on that handicapped match.

Crowd gives him heat, as Vito goes around pointing at the people

Vito: These isn’t even worth it, maybe someone from the back would like to get their ass kicked tonight. So anyone back there want to come out?

Vito and Sal stare around, but nothing happens

Vito: Like I thought, there is no one man enough to…

Vito is cut off as “Free Bird” comes over the P.A. and the crowd begins to stir. The song continues to play, as none other than Necro Butcher comes out and down to the ring. The Iron Saints bail out of the ring as Necro jumps into the ring. Necro throws down his shirt and puts his fist up and tells Vito to come in the ring.

Vito: What the hell is this? Did you get an offer for some free bagels to come here; I think the homeless shelter is a few blocks down.

While Vito is talking to Necro, Sal sneaks around to the other side and grabs a chair. He slides in behind Necro, and nails him in the back with the chair.

Vito: There we go, now get me a ref down here for the match.

Vito Thomaselli vs. Necro Butcher

The referee runs down, as Vito slides in and goes for a cover on a knocked out Necro Butcher. Vito hooks the leg for a pin, but somehow Necro kicks out at TWO. Vito stands up and pushes the ref, and yells at him to count faster. Necro stumbles up to his feet, and gives some stiff shots to the face of Vito. Vito rolls to the outside where Sal comes over to consul him. Necro doesn’t waste anytime and jumps out and goes after Vito. Vito runs away, and Sal tries to stop Necro but is given a stiff head butt for his trouble. Necro chases after Vito, but Vito slides in the ring. Necro follows, but gets kicked in his head. Vito uses the advantage to stomp away at Necro. Vito picks up Necro and gives him a brainbuster and goes for a quick cover and only gets a TWO. Vito gets up and again pushes the ref yelling at him. Vito goes over and grabs onto Necro’s beard, and drags him up by it. Vito pulls Necro up and spits in his face. This pisses Necro off and he goes crazy with a series of lefts and rights to the ribs of Vito. Vito doubles over, and Necro butterflies his arms up. Necro lifts him up and brings Vito down with a tiger driver. Necro goes for a cover, and before the ref can count the three Sal grabs Vito’s foot and puts it on the bottom rope. The ref turns to see his foot on the rope, and stops at TWO. Sal is taunting with the crowd, and Necro gets out and gives another stiff head butt to Sal, and throws him down on the floor. Necro gets back in the ring, but Vito lures him in and goes for a quick schoolboy roll up, but only gets a TWO. Vito gets up, and lifts Necro up and powerbombs him into the corner. Necro’s head bounces of the turnbuckle as he crashes on the mat. Vito goes for a cover, but Necro gets his hand on the bottom rope at the last second. Vito is frustrated at this point, and lifts up Necro and tries to go for another brainbuster, but Necro swings around. Necro grabs Vito and locks in the Asiatic Spike. Vito struggles and tries to grab the ropes, but Necro pulls him down to the mat keeping the hold locked in. The crowd chants “Tap” as Vito is stuck in the middle of the ring. Vito isn’t moving, but Sal comes in the ring and hits Necro in the back with a chair. The ref rings for the bell, but Sal continues with vicious chair shots.

Necro Butcher defeats Vito Thomaselli via DQ

Vito gets back up and goes crazy, by stomping all over Necro. Sal goes out and picks up another chair, and him and Vito set Necro up. Vito climbs on the second turnbuckle, and Sal lays Necro’s head on one of the chairs, and holds the other one over his head. They try to set up for the vicious chair double shot, but before Vito can jump off Drake Younger runs down to the ring. The Iron Saints see him, and bail out of the ring. Drake runs in the ring, and challenges them to come in the ring. The Iron Saints cockily walk away, as Drake tries to throw a chair at them. Drake helps Necro up, and the crowds gives him a nice “Necro” chant.

A brief intermission occurs at this point, and Travis comes back out to say that a return has been set for September 12. He also announces that from the past actions the Iron Saints will take on the team of Necro Butcher and Drake Younger.

Brandon Thomaselli vs. Erik Stevens

“Paint it Black” comes on as, the IWA:MS Lightheavy weight champion, Brandon Thomaselli. He gets some serious heat from the actions of his fellow Iron Saints members. He brushes it off and walks to the ring. “My War” by Black Flag comes on as Erik Stevens comes down to the ring. Stevens doesn’t get much of a reaction, and tries to give some fans high fives.

A match up that didn’t blend to well. Neither man could get much going, and the crowd seemed a little tired after seeing Necro and all the other matches. This just seemed like filler until the mainevent. Stevens seemed to have control of the match after hitting a quick TKO, but could only get a TWO count from it. The match went in favor of Thomaselli, after he ducks a lariat attempt and nails a huge German suplex. Thomaselli goes to work buy applying variations of sleeper holds, to ground Stevens. Stevens breaks the hold by grabbing the ropes, but Thomaselli pulls Stevens back to the center with a Boston crab. Stevens crawls his way, and is able to grab the ropes. Thomaselli refuses to break the hold, and the ref has to pull him away. Thomaselli and the ref yell at each other, as this gives Stevens time to get back up. Thomaselli comes over, but Stevens gives a huge European upper cut that dazes Thomaselli. Stevens grabs Thomaselli, and throws him down with a quick powerslam. Stevens hooks the leg, but only gets a TWO. The crowd still doesn’t really seem to be into either men. Stevens lifts Thomaselli up for a chance to end the match with a gutwrench powerbomb, but Thomaselli reverses it with a snap hurricarana. Thomaselli goes for a cover, but only gets a TWO. Thomaselli stands up and tries to pick up Stevens, but Stevens quickly rolls up Thomaselli. Stevens is only able to get a quick TWO. Stevens puts Thomaselli in the corner, and signals for a big knee. Stevens runs in, but Thomaselli side steps him. Stevens crashes into the corner, and turns around right into Thomaselli. Thomaselli grabs him and lifts him up in powerbomb position, and slams him down onto his knees. Stevens back looks like it got folded in half, and Thomaselli goes for a pin to get the THREE.

Brandon Thomaselli defeats Erik Stevens via pinfall at 9:59

Thomaselli walks back seeming frustrated with how the match worked out, and at the crowd reactions. Stevens gets up, and receives some boos on his way back.

Main Event And Anything Goes: Eddie Kingston vs. Toby Klein

“How I Could Just Kill A Man” by Cypress Hill comes on as Eddie Kingston makes his way the ring. The crowd seems to have regenerated and is on their feet for Kingston. Kingston walks around the ring as people pat him on the back. “American Psycho” by the Misfits comes on as Toby Klein comes to the ring with a chair in hand. The crowd gives Klein a nice size pop. Klein walks around giving high fives to the fans. Klein rolls into the ring and bangs the chair on the mat looking at Kingston.

A worthy main event, and one hell of a brawl between the two. Both men left all they had in the ring, and the crowd ate up every second of it. Both men started out nose to nose, and showing no intimidation of the other. Klein has a twisted smile, and points to his jaw telling Kingston to give him a shot. Kingston winds up and gives a huge upper cut to Klein’s jaw, and Klein just shakes his head in agreement. Kingston returns the favor and points at his jaw, and Klein gives his own hard punch to the jaw of Kingston. The two just continue to stand, and then they go at giving each other some brutal head butts. They each go for a series of blows, and after a few both men stumble back a little bit, woozy from the blows to the head. Kingston comes back in a gives a nasty knife-edge chop that echoes throughout, but Klein comes back with his own hard chop. Klein tires to go for a surprise closeline, but Kingston ducks it and grabs the chair in the ring and throws it at the head of Klein. The chair bounces right off of Klein’s head and he stumbles back towards the ropes. Kingston runs and closelines Klein, and himself, over the top ropes to the outside. Both men crash down to the floor, but Kingston gets up first and shakes out his arm, from an awkward landing. Kingston picks Klein up and tells the fans to move and looks to whip Klein into the rows of chairs. Kingston tries to whip him, but Klein swings around and reverses it to whip Kingston into the rows of chairs. Kingston crashes into the first row, and slides back into the third row of chairs. The crowd is really getting into the match, as the action is right in front of them. Klein grabs someone’s drink, and stands above Kingston. Kingston makes his way to his feet, and Klein crushes the drink across the face of Kingston. This seems to just piss Kingston off, as fires back with a slap to the face of Klein. Kingston unloads with a series of punches, and pushes Klein back into the merchandise area. Kingston slams Klein’s head against one of the tables, and whips him into a garbage can. Kingston comes over to grab Klein, but Klein gives a kick to the Kingston’s gut. This gives Klein to get back up, and he grabs the garbage can, and hits it over Kingston’s head. Klein goes over and grabs a chair, but Kingston gets back up and grabs his own chair. The two have a showdown with the chairs, and they continue to hit each other’s chair. They both go for a big swing, and the chairs hit hard as both men drop their chairs. Kingston just gives a kick to the leg of Klein, and grabs the garbage can. Kingston puts it over the head of Klein, and drags him back towards the ring. Kingston whips Klein into the metal ring post, and Klein crashes into the post still stuck in the garbage can. The crowd is red hot for the crazy action, and Kingston takes a chair from one of the fans. With the garbage can still over Klein’s head, Kingston swings back and gives a huge chair shot. The garbage can flies off of Klein’s head, and shows his forehead has been busted up. With Klein out, Kingston goes over and drags a table over to the ring. Kingston sets it up on the outside, a few feet from the apron. Kingston goes over and picks Klein up, and gets him in position for a suplex into the table; but Klein uses his weight to stop it. Klein then reverses it and snaps back with his own suplex causing Kingston to fall hard on the floor. Kingston lets out a scream and holds onto his back. Klein sits up and whips the blood from his forehead. Klein then gives some junkyard dog head butts to Kingston, causing even more blood to come out of Klein’s forehead. Kingston just falls to his back, and Klein goes over and grabs some chairs. Klein throws about six chairs into the ring, and picks up Kingston. He tries to get Kingston in the ring, but both men get caught up on the apron. Kingston wraps his arms around the waist of Klein and looks to try and give him a German off the apron through the table. Klein holds onto the ropes, and gives an elbow to the face of Kingston. Klein maneuvers to the side of Kingston, and grabs him in position for a Russian leg sweep. Both men fall backwards, and crash off the apron through the table. Both men are willing to sacrifice their own bodies for the win. There is a small “This is Awesome” chant going on, and both men are laid out on the outside. After a few seconds both men begin to make their way to their feet. Both men crawl under the ropes into the ring, and Klein is still bleeding from his forehead as Kingston has a little gash on his arm. Both men get back in the ring, that has about six chairs lying around, and again have a slugfest. Both men can barely stand, but they keep trying to knock the other one out. Klein throws a haymaker that knocks Kingston down to the mat, and goes for a cover but only gets a TWO. Klein grabs the chairs in the ring, and piles them in the center of the mat. Klein picks up Kingston and gets him on his shoulders. He spins around, looking to his Insanity DVD Driver on the pile of chairs; but Kingston starts to fight back slides off Klein’s back. Klein turns towards Kingston, but Kingston grabs his head and swings around with a DDT and crashes Klein into the chairs with a Royal Flush. Klein’s head hits the steel hard, and his forehead is now a bloody mess, as Kingston rolls over for a pin and gets the THREE count.

Eddie Kingston defeats Toby Klein via pinfall at 29:09

Both men are laid out on the mat, and the crowd is on their feet cheering. A chant of “That was Awesome” comes over, as Kingston begins to get to his feet. Kingston goes over and asks for a mic. Klein is slowly getting his bearings back and uses the ropes to get back up
.

Kingston: I just want to say that you are truly one tough bastard my man

Kingston gives Klein a handshake, and the crowd cheers for the sportsmenship.

Kingston: I also want to say that RWF is here to stay, this is going be that promotion that everyone will be talking about and where every wrestler wants to come work for. All I can say is that RWF has now got a King of Diamonds.

Show ends with Kingston in the ring, and the crowd starting the first “R-DUB-F” chant.
