No worries. I generally stick to the "art" side of Hollywood endeavors but over the many years of being a "cinephile" I've gradually become pretty decent at box office analysis. The truth is, a flop the size of Solo is actually quite rare: most movies, even some of Hollywood's riskier, bigger "tentpoles" as they've been called in the industry for decades now, at least make their money back or are close enough to doing so that they aren't some big hit to the studio.
As I was saying in that thread the other day, Solo us truly a very rare sort of mega-flop as it were for the studio.
It's funny because while I do agree with the criticism that there is a politically correct bent to the new films under Disney, I earnestly defended The Force Awakens and the character of Rey from many who protested she was a Mary Sue.
Anyway, it's fun to discuss things! Take care and see you around. :curry
