Re: WWE: The Network Era

NXT News & Updates

~ It can be confirmed that earlier on today after holding several tryouts that WWE has signed two independent wrestlers to contract. They are Roderick Strong and David Starr respectively. Strong of course is well known and respected independent talent who has appeared in numerous promotions such as Ring of Honor and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla where as David Starr is an up and comer best known for his work in the tag team Juicy Product with JT Dunn. It is being rumored that both men have already been assigned their new names with Starr changing his twitter handle to @JohnnyRader whilst Roderick has wrestled a couple of NXT live events under the name Chris Stark

~ Another name confirmed to have signed a contract with WWE is Prince Devitt. After months of speculation the Irishman finally confirmed he was headed to the performance center to begin his WWE career. In a possible sign of his new name already Devitt has started a twitter account called @FrancisDonovanWWE

~ With Wrestlemania over WWE has began looking into calling up several NXT talents. Said to be at the top of the list are Sami Zayn, Paige, The Ascension, Adrian Neville and Corey Graves. Another man said to be held in high esteem is Slate Randall who is set to debut on NXT soon. Playing a cocky businessman character Randall is being looked upon as someone to watch in the future.

~ Another man held in high hopes by WWE management is Kalisto. Looked upon as their last real shot at a potential replacement for Rey Mysterio. WWE is said to be really working on ideas to bring the former Samuray Del Sol up onto the roster once they know he is ready. One bonus Kalisto already has to his credit is that he is able to speak english unlike the original sin cara. Which was one of the reasons many feel Cara did not have the success he could have had.

~ With new names being assigned to talents several other recently signed members of the performance center have also been given new names. They are as followed:
Morkeith Brown - Joshua Rice
Danilo Anfibio - Dan Delaney
Drake Wuertz - Dylan Wilkins
Chas Betts - Chad Gable
Dylan Mile - Simeon Carter
Jasper Orton - Sean Berry
Leah Von Dale - Erica Luciana
Logan Shulo - Fernando Marques
Rachelle Walker - Cassidy McAdams
Stuart Tomlinson - Jason Schultz
Sarah Bäckman - Lea Bendtsen

~ One man not expected to receive a new name is Shawne Merriman. With himself already being established in the states for his football career. Instead the plans are for Merriman to be WWE's Steve 'Mongo' McMichael where he will start out as an announcer before stepping into the ring.

~ In some backstage news confirmed. Former women's champion Victoria has resigned with WWE to take a position as a trainer at the performance center. Victoria will be working alongside trainer Sara Del Ray in helping the new women's wrestlers coming in. In regards to Del Ray some expect it won't be long until she also appears on NXT. It is believe Del Ray has earned a lot of respect for her work in WWE so far with the women. That WWE want to repay her by putting her on TV possibly with a strong push.
