WCW Wednesday Nitro Preview- October 31, 2001

World Championship Wrestling will host its next primetime edition of Wednesday Nitro on NBC this Wednesday night at 8 PM EST from the Little John Coliseum, in Clemson, South Carolina, straight in the heart of Clemson University! Join “The Voice of WCW” Tony Schiavone and “The Professor” Mike Tenay for another two-hour, action packed edition of World Championship Wrestling!

Just three days removed from the biggest PPV of the year, Halloween Havoc, expect the fall out to begin tonight!

Rumor has it that both the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, ‘The Chosen One’ Jeff Jarrett, and WCW President, Eric Bischoff, are stressed out men. And both cases have to do with the return of the Super Cage! The Super Cage, the most demonic and lethal wrestling match and structure, makes its heavily-anticipated return to WCW Sunday, November 18, at Mayhem! We don’t know the details or the participants for the second Super Cage match, but Jeff Jarrett is very nervous about possibly entering the Super Cage for a second time. But rumor has it, Eric Bischoff is stressed too! Reports are being sent in that Bischoff is receiving great amounts of pressure from the WCW Board of Directors, who still do have the majority of power and influence in WCW, to get what they want out of the big return of the Super Cage. Details are expected to be released tonight on the Super Cage’s return, so we can only wait and see if these details will stress out the two nWo leaders even more!

No one saw it coming on Sunday; The Outsiders, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, returned to WCW at Halloween Havoc. Scott Hall accepted Sting’s open challenge, and although Sting won by disqualification, thanks to interference by ‘Big Sexy’ Kevin Nash, The Outsiders got the last laugh, assaulting Sting afterwards. The Outsiders claimed a neutral status in the second WCW/nWo war, re-donning The Wolfpack name. Nash and Hall stayed true to their attentions, wreaking havoc in the WCW World Heavyweight Title match, assault Jarrett, and ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair. Because of their interference however, Jarrett was able to keep the World Heavyweight Title. Jarrett is fuming about The Outsiders humiliating him at Halloween Havoc, as is Flair. On Nitro, The Nature Boy will get the chance for revenge against The Outsiders when he teams up with Sting to take the two men on!

Flair also is reported to have a few choice words for Eric Bischoff, and a man he is no stranger to, ‘Hollywood’ Hulk Hogan, who will not be in the building tonight after losing to Booker T in the Halloween Havoc main event. Booker T is not scheduled for the show, however; Bischoff is “resting him” after his big match with Hogan. Booker T will still be in the building in Clemson, so only time will tell if he makes an impact someway or another. Booker T definitely has proven himself as a worthy main event player with his defeat over Hogan, so now only time will tell as well if he can get back in the Title hunt.

After coming off of a big victory at Halloween Havoc, the North American Champion, Lance Storm, will be in non-title action against Jamie Noble! Lance Storm successfully retained his Title against the undefeated ‘New Enforcer’ Cal Anderson and Curt Hennig in an excellent triple threat match. Can Lance Storm continue his winning ways against Noble, or will the young cruiserweight pull off the upset? Find out on Nitro!

At Halloween Havoc, The Flying Harts, Jack Evans and Teddy Hart, defeated Shane Helms and Super Crazy, when Evans pinned Crazy. After their defeat, the WCW Cruiserweight Champion told The Insane Luchadore to stay out of his business. Tonight, ‘Sugar’ Shane Helms takes on Jack Evans in a non-title match. Can Evans make it two wins in a row, or will Shane Helms show just why he is a 7-month Cruiserweight Champion? Find out when these exciting cruiserweights take it to the ring on Nitro!

Billy Kidman has been dogged by Rey Misterio Jr. countless times, ever since Rey turned on The Filthy Animals at Souled Out, in August. At Halloween Havoc on Sunday, Kidman was moments away from defeating Misterio when Rey attacked Billy with a steel chair, ending the match in disqualification. However, Kidman was saved by his long-time friend and stable mate, Konnan. Tonight, Konnan and Kidman will team up to take on The Mamalukes. Big Vito and Johnny The Bull have been on a downward slide for the past month, losing matches constantly, and tensions flaring. Last week on Nitro, the two broke out into a scuffle and had to be separated by security. They’ve put aside their differences and will team together again, but will that be enough to defeat The Filthy Animals!? Find out!

Also on Nitro, appearances by the New World Order, Super Crazy, Arn Anderson, and Cal Anderson! Nitro promises to be an exciting showcase of professional wrestling that you do not want to miss! Be sure to tune into NBC this Wednesday night at 8 PM EST to catch all the action!

Confirmed Matches:

Ric Flair & Sting vs. The Outsiders
Lance Storm vs. Jamie Noble
Filthy Animals vs. The Mamalukes
Jack Evans vs. Shane Helms

Craigbischoff, there's no need to say you'll have my review up soon, and make a new post 10 minutes later. Just spamming and post-whoring. And honestly, I'm sorry, but there is no way I will return your review. You left more than a one line response for only 4 segments, and fuck, you didn't even have the right winners for the Tag Match. Really shows you didn't even read it. So no, I will not return.
