You're horribly wrong. Oil is priceless. It's not just about money(which dwarfs the expendatures of this war thousand fold.) which you couldn't be more wrong about. It's about the potential power that comes with it.
When oil is running out the prices will be incredible. Any replacement has yet to come to light, with all the pipe dreams you want to list oil still runs the world, and will continue too until every last drop is taken.
America cannot afford to let a hostile country have this sort of money, it's dangerous, especially to America, a symbol of western power in a time where the eastern countries will get their shot at giving every country they don't like their 2 cents, with a gun. With a nuke.
