Ah, wow, that message not only landed on my wall rather than yours, it was so witty and hilarious and true that it made my day. :lol Thank you! :)

Hi, Peter! Hope all is well!

Thought on this upcoming "all-girl" Ghostbusters? :lol It honestly doesn't look good to me at all. Shame.

I think many filmmakers today overlook what made those films work, and it wasn't just some gags strung together.

    Please take care!

Now, looking at these two comments below, thank you for the Happy New Year wishes! I hope you are having a great 2016 yourself!

:lmao at the Christmas Eve story. Busting the spirit of Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas...

Hey, beating the shit out of Ebenezer Scrooge is probably the best thing that could have happened to him. :lmao

Like you, "Pusher" is a classic X-Files episode for me.

The closing narration of "Night of the Meek" always threatens to choke me up.

You didn't hear that from me. :side:

I still need to see Wayward Pines! Hope you enjoy Thriller whenever you get to it! I am rather certain you will!

Hope you're having a phenomenal 2016, Peter! Thank you for getting back to me! I shall get back to you regarding The X-Files and so much more in the near future, my friend! :)

:lmao Pete! I must apologize. I have not been back around here in this corner of Wrestling Forum in a while and I see that you left a pair of messages for me... but on your own wall! :lol No need to feel bad, though. I should have come on by.

Firstly, in response to the message you did leave on my wall just now, or, rather, earlier today, I am enjoying the new season. Some mixed feelings about certain decisions but I enjoyed the first three episodes particularly. I though the fourth episode had a lot of promise but it sort of fell apart a bit for me thematically toward the end, as though it were trying too hard. I might have to revisit it... I haven't seen the fifth episode yet. I hope to do so soon, perhaps later tonight. :)

Me, Ray and Winston are all pretty psyched about the X-Files. We've been watching a bunch of classic episodes in preparation. I love 'Pusher'. Such a good episode! Can't wait for the new series! The ghost of Christmas future assured me that it's going to be great!

I, too, watched some Twilight Zone over Christmas. I re-re-re-rewatched "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" but, in hindsight, should've watched "Night of the Meek". You're right - it is brilliant Christmas episode. I love the closing narration: "A word to the wise to all the children of the twentieth century, whether their concern be pediatrics or geriatrics, whether they crawl on hands and knees and wear diapers or walk with a cane and comb their beards. There's a wondrous magic to Christmas and there's a special power reserved for little people. In short, there's nothing mightier than the meek".

Words to live by in these turbulent times!

Have a great 2016. Keep in touch.
    Your pal, Pete.

Happy New Year, dude! Hope you had a blast! Things at Spook Central are always hectic this time of year ... ghosts of Christmas's past, present and future pop up all over the place! Reminds me of the time one Christmas Eve when me and the boys were on the way home from a bust upstate and the mother of all snowstorms hit. Despite Egon's assurance, we got totally lost. Ecto-1 stalled out and we had to try to walk back to civilization. A rip in the Space-Time Continuum sent us back to Victorian England during the Christmas season. Our P.K.E. Meter detected the spirit of Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas, so we busted their asses! When we gave Scrooge the bill, that skinflint tried to back out of paying it. Long story short, we ended up kicking the shit out of him. :surprise:

Hope you had a very Merry Christmas, Peter! :mark: :cheer :woo :dance :dancingpenguin

Just watched the Season 2 episode of The Twilight Zone, "The Night of the Meek," starring Art Carney. A fine little holiday treat.

Only a month away from the return of The X-Files!

    Please take care! :)

Thank you for sharing that interview with me, Peter! Fascinating.

There were some revelations there that I did not know. Interesting how Chris Carter is protective of surfing and he's probably right that Hollywood often misses the point with it. I think the mythology of the series was quite sound for the first five or six seasons but the latter stretch arguably bent the incongruity factor of it a little too far. Nevertheless, many outstanding thoughts from him about his show and other television shows.

I sincerely hope a third and final movie is made to wrap everything up once and for all, ha. Not sure if it's feasible, and no one involved is getting any younger, so it would probably have to happen sooner rather than later.

    Thanks again! :)

I would put alongside it, "Beyond the Sea," "Pilot," "Deep Throat," "One Breath," "Squeeze," "Tooms," "Bad Blood," "Jose Chung's From Outer Space," "Oubliette," "Syzygy," "The Erlenmeyer Flask," "Duane Barry" and "Ascension" as a two-parter, "Piper Maru" and "Apocrypha," another outstanding two-parter, "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose," "Small Potatoes," "Ice," "E.B.E.," "Anasazi," "The Blessing Way" and "Paper Clip" (such an epical three-parter!), "Die Hand Die Verletz," and "Irresistible" all stand out for me right away. There are many more great episodes but those are the ones that come to mind off the top of my head.

Thank you again for the notification--both literally and figuratively--of the new series!

This is fascinating timing. I was just speaking to one of my best friends and his sister and wife about The X-Files as they are presently watching the final episodes of Season 7. We had a rather enjoyable conversation concerning the series.

I am not sure about seeing a new version of the series occur but it is intriguing. Thank you for the news and thank you for the link! Most appreciated. :)

It was "my show" as a kid, I watched it religiously. Every Friday--and then Sunday--night I could hardly wait to see the newest episode! :mark: Haha.

"Pusher" is certainly a classic episode of the series, one of its best. [to be continued]

Quantum Leap! Excellent show! :mark: Yes the last episode is quite the emotional gut punch, no two ways about it.

I have never seen Wayward Pines but your recommendation makes me wish I had! I'll be sure to check that out in the near future. Yes, where did Matt Dillon go to? He had a little bit of a revival not too long ago, seemingly but I cannot recall the last time I saw him in something. Perhaps I'm just forgetting, though, haha. Thanks again for the recommendation.

Do you enjoy The X-Files? I was an enormous fan of that as a child growing up, for the first 3-5 seasons anyway. :)

    Take care!

Fellow Twilight Zone fan IDONTSHIV informs me that the "syfy" network is showing episodes! The Obsolete Man was aired last night.

Tales From the Darkside and Tales From the Crypt were excellent, yes. And I agree with those two episodes from Alfred Hitchcock Presents. "Breakdown" is a particularly memorable episode, the concept of which alone makes it a winner that sticks with you long after you have seen it. Its having Joseph Cotten starring as its protagonist and Hitchcock himself directing surely helped, too.

    I heartily recommend Thriller!

I meant to ask: which episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents do you happen to cherish?

Also, the Boris Karloff-hosted and occasionally -starring Thriller series is a classic of the macabre with many tremendous episodes to its credit. Not sure if you're already aware of it... But if you have yet to watch it, with the shows we're discussing, that should be in your ballpark. It's a different animal from some of these others, and of course it's next to impossible to rate anything alongside The Twilight Zone in its elements of humanism and philosophy and irony, among others, but Thriller is often just a good ol' spook show with some truly chilling and unforgettable sequences, moments and episodes.

Oh, and of course The Outer Limits! Some years ago I had my signature as an Outer Limits intro homage, haha. Great sci-fi show with many important, pertinent themes.

Ah, that's cool to know why you are so fond of that story. That's partly why art is so subjective, of course. Different themes and ideas strike different people... differently! Haha.

I'm a big fan of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, yes. One More Mile to Go, Murder Me Twice, The Dangerous People, The End of Indian Summer and Last Request are among my favorites. That show boasts a fine catalogue of episodes, though. A great many featuring wonderful twist endings, of course.
