why does everyone on here seem to hate it? I liked it.
how many great wrestlemanias has there been though, mania has always been about the occasion, grandeur and spectacle and less about the in-ring quality. fans every year expect a blow-away mania and it never really happens, even now go back and re-watch 17 and you see better stuff on raw these days than took place the first hour of that show.29 was a decent PPV, but an awful WrestleMania.
I would say this WM is a top 7 WORST OF ALL TIME.
Had Vince been creative enough to take chances and instead of being cliché and formulaic, I think WM 29 would be remembered more fondly. The Shield Vs. Team Sheamus - Decent match. I would've been excited for this if they hadn't book a better version of it at the PPV the month before.
Henry Vs. Ryback - Lesnar Vs. Goldberg, but 10x time worse.
Kane / Bryan Vs. Ziggler / Langston - Good match, but way too short.
Fandango Vs. Jericho - Jericho loses to a rookie in his first match. Not only was Jericho's credibility shot for good after this, but Fandango's push was halted making Jericho's rub all for nothing.
Del Rio Vs. Swagger - This was actually a really good match, but unfortunately, nobody cared because Jack Swagger never recovered from the shitty booking he got in 2010. RKO should've challenge ADR instead, but I'm just glad Swagger didn't win like he was originally supposed to. It would've been Booker Vs. Helmsley all over again.
Punk Vs. Undertaker - Best match on the card, but Punk having 100% chance of losing was a buzzkill. Had Punk beaten Undertaker 3 years ago at HIAC like he should've, I would've been way more excited for this match.
Lesnar Vs. Helmsley - A complete waste of everybody's time. Triple H got his win back and nobody gave a shit. We got robbed of Lesnar Vs. Undertaker here.
Cena Vs. Maivia - Everybody hated it, but I didn't care. It was the right thing to do. Besides, this match was an improvement over Once In A Lifetime. Oh yeah and Cena didn't turn heel again, lol.
ExactlyIn the end, Mania 29 was just what some are calling it, a decent PPV, but an awful Wrestlemania. Something that should never be the case.
