I have to commend Bully Ray for trying with this gimmick. He's playing a less whiny Raven if Raven existed in a comic book universe.
Remember when TNA used to have that very realistic feel during its backstage segments? Well, those days are long gone. It's time for the would-be directors to flex their muscles.
The segment with Bully was hilarious on so many levels this week for a variety of reasons, including, but not exclusive to:
- The cinematic camera cuts (the lighter flicks had me giggling)
- Bully's crisp audio, as though it was added in post
- Bully implying he had something foul smelling in his other hand
- Anderson's face
For those who haven't seen it who love when wrestling gets goofy, you owe yourself.
So just them and 5 camera men in there then? lol
Almost as good as when Hogan and the tv viewers saw the warriors reflection in the mirror but Bischoff couldn't!
Bully Ray new character needs a good director and editor. I don't see anyone within the wrestling business with enough "cinema" quality to pull it off. Good old Ray is gonna be forced to pull it off by himself.
i thought it was hilarious... as previously mentioned, the first thing that i thought was, "with all these different camera angles, shouldn't there be one of the other 5 cameramen in each shot?" lol.
and yes, bully disappearing at the end was priceless hahah
They really had to make it as campy and goofy as possible?
Bully did good. But holy fuck was this unwatchable. By unwatchable, I mean the camera work here was so awful. Zooms and focus changes were ecsessive as fuck here.
Who the fuck knows. bully has been an asskicker for so long, it makes me want to see where this goes. he's talented as fuck when it comes to being on the mic.
and what the fuck was kenny holding at the end? the girl I'm with used her teeth at the wrong time.
During the segment in the church last night I couldn't help but think of one of those comedy routines where once Bully was gone we'd see Anderson walk towards the back and see Bully kneeling down behind a pew and say:
Anderson: I can see you
Bully: No you can't
Anderson: yeah I can, you're right there
Bully: Hey look over there
Anderson looks back to where Bully was and he's now on the other side of the church
Anderson: I can still see you
Bully: *puts hand over face* No you can't
Anderson works best, i think, when hes involved in a story line saying what we're all thinking and going through that fourth wall to bring everything some realistic levity. I understand bullys supposed to be a stonecold and mysterious hardass and all that now, but anderson still looks like hes being billed as the straight shooting everyman smartass character...
i found the fact that he didnt bring any sarcasm to that segment very disappointing, and wouldve loved a 'youre pouring this crap on pretty thick arent you, ray?' or even something along the lines of 'jesus, i came all the way out here for that?' Right as the segment ended. 'Gas is too expensive for your goofy bullshit, bully!'
What was in that coffin that Anderson held up?
What smelly thing was Bully supposed to have in his hand?
