Raw;
February 6th: Tokyo

3 HOUR SPECIAL

The Gold Rush Tournament Kicks the show off right away, with Rey Mysterio vs. Christian!!! As per request of both General Managers, all ringside presence is barred from the entire night of tournament matches.

Road To Wrestle Mania Gold Rush Tournament; Quarter Final:
Christian vs. Rey Mysterio
Both men lay it all on the line, after their recent feuding, in a truly awesome opener, with fast paced counter wrestling, plenty of convincing false finishes, and near falls galore. The finish comes as Christian sets up Mysterio for the Unprettier, only for Rey to slip out, and kick Christian into the ropes, and goes for the 619, but Christian moves, and as Rey gets back in, Christian gets a victory roll, and holds the tights, for a two, but Rey rolls through, and holds the tights himself, getting a three count!!!!
Winner: Rey Mysterio @ 12:19

After a commercial break, we see Christians response to the loss, claiming Rey cheated, whilst elsewhere, Mysterio is being congratulated by fellow faces.

We then go to an interview with Carlito, minus Stacey, who introduces his partner for tonight only … A-Train.

Road To Wrestle Mania Gold Rush Tournament; Quarter Final:
Edge vs. The Undertaker
Edge takes on The Undertaker in the second first round match. The two put on a decent, but very short match, where they throw in as much of their regular offence as possible, with Edge kicking out of a Chokeslam. The finish comes with Taker going for the Tombstone, only for Edge to slide out, and roll Taker up for a surprise, clean, three count!!!!
Winner: Edge @ 07:46
Edge immediately slides out of the ring, and runs up the ramp, not able to believe his luck from beating The Deadman, clean as a whistle, and in good time too, keeping himself fresh for later tonight. Meanwhile, The Undertaker looks shocked at his loss in the ring.

After another commercial, we see Edge backstage, celebrating his victory over Taker, before asking a random worker where Christian is, which arouses suspicion from J.R, who wonders why Edge would want to see Christian.

Wrestle Mania Recall - XV - Triple H and Chyna turn on X-Pac, marking the end of DX.

Road To Wrestle Mania Gold Rush Tournament; Quarter Final:
Randy Orton vs. Shawn Michaels
Randy Orton faces Shawn Michaels in the third Gold Rush Match. They battle hard in a long match, with both men knowing the other pretty well, meaning we get a strong contest. The match goes back and forth, with Michaels particularly in top form, stretching over a commercial break, and back to the action, towards a finish, with Randy Orton catching HBKs boot as he goes for Sweet Chin Music, spins him around, and delivers the RKO!!!
He has the match won, but the referee is distracted by Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade who run down the aisle, ignoring the no ringside presence ruling to save HBK, whilst Luther sneaks in through the back, and attacks Orton with a steel chair, before putting Michaels arm over Orton. The referee counts, but only makes two, before Orton kicks out.
The referee tells DX to leave ringside, and as they argue, THE ROCK comes through the crowd, sliding into the ring, and blasting Shawn Michaels with the steel chair, knocking him out cold. He slides back out of the ring, and escapes through the crowd, looking back, yelling ‘See You Saturday Shawn’, with DX in pursuit of the Peoples Champion. This allows Orton to make the cover, and get the victory, sending him to the Semi Finals.
Winner: Randy Orton @ 18:27

After a commercial, we see Rock speeding off in a car, whilst back in the ring, HBK comes around, and realises what happened, which sends him on a rampage. He starts to bust up the ringside area, uncontrollably, until … **PYRO** Kanes music plays, which scares the hell out of HBK, and he quickly leaves the arena, looking around, until the music stops.

Ken Kennedy prepares backstage for his match later where he holds an open challenge for any Japanese wrestler to face him.

Road To Wrestle Mania Gold Rush Tournament; Quarter Final:
Rob Van Dam vs. Booker T
RVD then defeats Booker T in the last first round match of the Gold Rush Tournament, hitting the Five Star Frog Splash to score a clean win, with no cheating in the match at all.
Winner: Rob Van Dam @ 08:57

Shawn Michaels has another temper tantrum backstage, and watches the replay of Rock running in earlier. He stops where Rock mouths ‘See you Saturday’, then says to himself ‘We’ll see about that’.

Ken Kennedy then comes to the ring, and cuts a funny promo on Japan, albeit basic cheap heel comments. He then issues his open challenge, which is accepted by Yugi Nagata.

Ken Kennedy vs. Yugi Nagata
The Japanese fans get well behind their countrys own, but in the short, filler match, it’s Ken Kennedy who prevails, catching Nagata, and nailing the Green Bay Plunge to score the three count.
Winner: Ken Kennedy @ 04:39

After a commercial break, we find out at Saturday Nights Main Event that in a special Raw vs. Smackdown - Showcase of Talent Match, Triple H will face The Undertaker.

Road To Wrestle Mania Gold Rush Tournament; Semi Final:
Rey Mysterio vs. Edge
Edge defeats Rey Mysterio in the first semi final of the Gold Rush tournament, in a gruelling contest. They battle at a high tempo early on, before settling down with Edge on top, before Mysterio makes a comeback. He hit’s the 619, but misses the West Coast Pop, leaving both of them down.
This brings out Christian, with a steel chair. He walks to the ring, with a purpose, whilst Edge decides to distract the referee. Captain Charisma looks set to smash Mysterio, but then, he has a change of heart, and decides against it, motioning to Edge that he doesn’t want to help him!!! Edge is furious, whilst Rey recovers. Rey doesn’t realise what is going on, and immediately dropkicks Christian out of the ring, to the floor. He then takes it to Edge again, sending him into the middle rope, looking for another 619. He looks set to run for it, but Christian trips Mysterio on the apron, before storming out of the arena, having got revenge for the unprovoked attack.
Meanwhile, Edge sets himself up, and scores with the Spear on Mysterio, making the cover, and getting 1...2...3!!!
Winner: Edge @ 16:33
Edge is going to the finals, and has a title shot for definite, either at WM, or SNME!!!

The second inductee into the 2006 Hall of Fame is revealed as … Nikolai Volkoff.
(Note: I know he has already been inducted in real life, but he hasn’t in this thread)

Hulk Hogan comes to the ring, and plays to the fans, even speaking some Japanese, getting huge pops. Then, Ric Flair and Batista make their way to the ring, which results in a brief war of words, with, eerily similar to the war of words many months ago between Flair and Mick Foley, and it takes a similar turn for the worse, with Flair and Batista beating Hogan down.
They drag Hulk towards the announcers table at the top of the ramp, and get the Co-GM in position for the Batista Bomb when … **Have a Nice Day** Mick Foleys music hits, and the fans in Japan go berserk for the former GM of Raw, who walks out, onto the stage, with a 2x4 Wrapped in Barbed Wire, quickly running off Flair and Batista, who flee through the crowd. Foley helps Hogan up, and the two shake hands before cutting to a commercial.

Road To Wrestle Mania Gold Rush Tournament; Semi Final:
Randy Orton vs. Rob Van Dam
The second Gold Rush Semi Final then takes place, with Randy Orton facing RVD (who wrestles alone tonight, given the no ringside presence ruling). They have a solid but not a spectacular match up, with neither really picking up a gear. RVD misses the Five Star, and falls prey to the RKO, giving Orton a clean win, and a guaranteed title shot, just like Edge.
Winner: Randy Orton @ 10:46

Backstage, we see Mick Foley and Hulk Hogan talking, but we don’t hear what is said.

#1 Contenders Match:
Gail Kim vs. Jazz vs. Lita vs. Victoria
In a short Number One Contenders Fatal Four Way Match, Lita manages to defeat Victoria, Jazz and Gail Kim in a Four Corners Match, earning herself a shot at good friend Trish Stratus this Saturday night. Trish sits on commentary, and after Lita pins Victoria with a Moonsault, she enters the ring, and holds her opponents hand up, in a show of respect.
Winner: Lita @ 03:05

Making an appearance, John Cena performs with <Insert Name Here> for his song <Insert Name Here>. Nothing really of substance, but just for Cena to show his face.

Following this, we have an interview with Edge, who talks about finally breaking the glass ceiling, and getting his rightful title shot. He then says as great as a title shot would be at any time, he doesn’t plan on taking it at SNME, instead wanting to win his first world title at WM.

World Tag Team Championships:
Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin vs. Carlito & A-Train
Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin defend the Tag Titles against Carlito and A-Train. Benjamin pins Carlito after a mix up between the makeshift partners, getting an inside cradle on the Intercontinental Champion, which now earns Benjamin a shot at CCC next week on Raw!!!
Winners: Benjamin & Haas @ 07:27

A long video plays, hyping Saturday Nights Main Event this weekend, before going into an interview with Randy Orton. Orton, similar to Edge, is happy that he gets a title shot either way, but declares that he isn’t happy with getting a title shot by losing a match, and says victory here and now is the only thing on his mind.

Road To Wrestle Mania Gold Rush Tournament; Final:
Edge vs. Randy Orton
Edge and Orton then meet in the main event, which also could serve as the last match in their recent feud. They put on an excellent intense contest, which has the fans eating from the palm of their hands. Orton kicks out of the Edgecution, whilst Edge gets a foot on the rope from the RKO. Edge then misses a Spear, which allows Orton to capitalise, and score with a second RKO, this time, scoring the vital three count, earning him a guaranteed Wrestle Mania title shot!!!
Winner: Randy Orton @ 11:59

Orton celebrates in the ring, whilst Edge pulls his hair out at ringside, and then, John Cena steps out onto the ramp, holding up his championship, taking a look at his opponent this Saturday, and possibly his challenger for Wrestle Mania. Edge though, lets Orton know it isn’t over, and that they’ll meet again at WM.

Smackdown Preview;

This Thursday Night in Tokyo, both the Royal Rumble winner, Chris Benoit, and the WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar will put pen to paper, and make their Wrestle Mania main event official. Interim GM Ricky Steamboat will oversee proceedings, and will try to make sure that fireworks dont go off prematurely ahead of the March 26th showdown.

One week after one of the most thrilling comebacks in WWE history, where Chris Jericho nearly snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, Y2J will air his thoughts on once again missing out on becoming WWE Champion, as for the first time ever, Jericho hosts a Highlight Reel, without a guest. How will Chris Jericho be feeling after missing out on the Wrestle Mania main event once again?? Find out this Thursday night.

Meanwhile, Americas Most Wanted - the NEW WWE Tag Team Champions - will be making their first title defence in their third WWE tag title reign, against the interesting duo of Chris Masters and Simon Dean, better known as the System Success. Masters and Dean have slipped under the radar as of late, but could this be their chance to make headlines on Smackdown??

And, in a match with major implications towards Wrestle Mania, there will be a triple threat match, seeing Matt Hardy, Gene Snitsky and Maven fight it out for the right to face the United States Champion at the March 26th showpiece. Hardy will likely enter the match as favourite, with his big match experience heavily outweighing his opponents, but Gene Snitsky has proven to be a formidable force on Smackdown, and Maven has pulled off a number of sneaky wins in the past few months to be in with a chance. Which of these three superstars will give themselves a shot at glory at Wrestle Mania??

Then, in the main event, the new #1 Contender to the U.S Title will find out his opponent for Wrestle Mania, as JBL and The Rock meet for the first time ever, with the title on the line. Layfield has held the United States Title for an incredible seven months, and in that time has defeated the late, great, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle and many other top names to keep the title against the odds. Is JBL's luck about to run out after over half a year of good fortune, and will The Rock finally hold the United States Title?? There is only way to find out, and that is on UPN, this Thursday, broadcasting from Japan!!

Smackdown is mostly in full, but there are parts of the show recapped. However, all the main parts are there, in full. SD to be posted on Sunday evening.
