Deadhead and I have continued our visitor message conversation since, if you're interested in more thoughts (though they are chiefly about a potential Sixers/Warriors Finals matchup :lol).

    Here's a good start: http://www.wrestlingforum.com/members/deadhead-with-desolationrow.html#vmessage692330 :lol

Rockets-Warriors series has been intense, considering it's 2-0 Warriors after two games.

Portland is playing out of their minds. Denver's depth advantage is diminished by the playoff rotations, and their own team's bench minutes dropping. That the Trailblazers were able to take a game in Denver is significant...

Toronto is not playing to their usual standards outside of Kawhi Leonard.

Philadelphia is starting to come together in a healthier way.

Celtics probably just do not have the horses to combat the Bucks, who are built for a deep playoff run probably entailing an Eastern Conference victory.

    Your thoughts?

Aww, how could I forget about Clegane Bowl? :lol :mark:

Yes, we need some Cersei/Tyrion interaction. Majorly. :mark: :lol

Good insights and thoughts and hopes, Joff! :mark:

Last three seasons? Wow I guess D&D just had a change of heart. :aryha Just teasin' ya!

Um... Like I said before, I really would like to see a greater emphasis on Cersei. She's the Big Bad all over again now, so they might as well scrape the bottom of that barrel. More of the Lannisters in general.

Feels to me like the whole Brienne/Jaime deal is a bit overpushed now...

Would like some more explanation for the entire Night King/Bran situation, but I'm not excessively optimistic concerning that.

    And something more for Jon.

Also please give me that #danyheelturn everyone keeps talking about. Daenerys needs to turn wholly evil/mad/whatever by the end. :lol

    How about you?

Completely agree, much as Arya peaked with the book A Clash of Kings, by incorporating her with Tywin Lannister the people behind the show engendered something special. Those two thespians possessed an innate chemistry with one another. The tension was excellent.

Rereading the books is a must! :mark:

Yes, I concur with that assessment: some Bran/Night King interaction(s) would have been splendid. Seemed like it was moving toward that sort of confrontation, but the writers had other ideas, evidently.

:lol Ultimately, I agree with your mixed thoughts on Jon vs. Someone Else killing The Night King.

In their own way I think they did a good job of building toward Arya, even if it's a bit "swervy" based on what the general perception of how things would unfold was. In the end it works fine, but I also empathize with those seeking much more for Jon. As you said, he and Night King "had beef." :lol

    :lmao Joff...

:lol I was saying the same thing about realizing I want Cersei to win. :lmao At least a large part of me does. :lol

Also noted that the series has finally circled back around to its original status for me (the television series and to some extent the books, to varying degrees; like in the books, I think Arya peaked in A Clash of Kings although she and everyone is fantastic in A Sword of Storms, too) that it's the Lannisters (Cersei, Tyrion, Jaime) who are the most intriguing all over again, kind of like how it all started out (for me, anyway). Not to take anything away from the Starks or Dany or anyone else, but I have to give some love to House Lannister. :lol

Oh well. I just hope we get some juicy Cersei scenes before this is over because Lena Heady has seemed truly bored for a while. :lol

And yes, Sansa/Tyrion was superb. More of those two together, please. Giving Peter Dinklage anything of substance is most welcomed. Agree that he's never really been the same since offing his dad. :lol

Was just posting about the dissatisfaction people are having with Jon Snow's arc, as it were. So you can check that out in the GoT if you'd like. But I'm with you on the Arya-gets-the-kill plot point/development, and I also dug the suspense they were able to conjure with The Night King's approach toward Bran. That all worked rather well cinematically on the director's part more than anything.

I liked your recounting of how people making mistakes lead to people losing their lives over said mistakes and how this was a stark (no pun intended) departure, too.

Quite touched that you offered all of those in-depth thoughts from both the episode individually and the series as a whole. Thank you.

I agree with just about everything you say. Although I do quibble a bit on one point, which is just that I think that the plot armor everyone's talking about--while obviously a little bit silly on one level--is to some degree acceptable, just because this is fundamentally myth and myths have that incorporated in their makeup almost 100% of the time. So while the battle plan was absurdly stupid, and several "saves" made no sense (looking at you Sam), I can't say I was too concerned.

But that may also be because I've come to a generally similar outlook on the series, which is that they are rushing it toward the finish line for a host of reasons (D*D obviously grew tired of it a while back)... So I'm willing to overlook a bunch of its flaws.

Agreed. I mostly liked the spectacle, even if the babyfaces had a horrid battle plan. :lmao

The big reveal with Arya was fine by me. Enjoyed that.

Finding that I'm not especially invested in the fates of the characters as a whole, though, or only intermittently so. It's weird.

I still believe they made a massive miscalculation with the entire Sansa/Theon/Reek business a while back, foolishly blending those two storylines to a pointless degree. So they diminished both characters for me, and Sansa in particular has only barely recovered since.

Having said that, I liked the Sansa/Tyrion scenes a great deal. Tyrion finally had something to do that was emotional again.

So it's been mixed for me as well. Left some posts in the big GoT thread. :lol

Looking forward to hearing more of your thoughts.

    Take care, Joff! :kd3
