Seems like the Marlins... just need more talent. Also, injuries and bad breaks have come at you guys like the dickens. Losing Stanton for an enormous swath of the season (there's even talk he might not return at all this year, and frankly, considering the season, who could blame the Marlins for not rushing him back?) was like the veritable nail in the coffin. Even when he was around and healthy he wasn't exactly having a tremendous year or anything by his standards. Always follow my prescription, because in this case it's 100% true: BLAME THE DODGERS!
Those blue meanie bastards broke Nori Aoki for the better part of six weeks just as he was securing an All-Star Game start for himself. They leave carnage in their wake. They are pure evil, Joel.
Oh, well. There is a saying, "There's always next year," when it comes to baseball. Bad news, though: that's an odd year, bruh.
