Best of luck to the Texas Rangers! I've always felt that the 2011 Rangers were the best team you guys had out of this most recent window of contention. In 2010 the lineup was outstanding but the starting pitching beyond Cliff Lee and at least part of the time CJ Wilson was suspect (and the bullpen outside of a couple of guys not much better in the World Series). But in 2011 you had the pitching and the hitting and the team was just so much deeper. Have always felt like that 2011 Cards team "stole" your World Series, as kind of silly as that thought is.

The AL West is tough right now. Will be interesting to see how 2015 looks for the Rangers.

Yeah, I love the guy. Last year it seemed like it was all finally coming together for him (latter half of 2013 was the beginning of that), particularly with his power stroke. Then he kept getting hit with baseballs in the flukiest and oddest ways imaginable. There's always something with him, ha. Really looking forward to seeing how he does this year. When he came back late in the season last year in September his presence truly lengthened out the lineup and made the offense thoroughly functional again, not a moment too soon. [to be continued]

Oh, that's awesome that your friend was able to attend Games 6 and 7. I was at Game 5! Haha. :mark: I'll never forget it. Very cool about Alex Gordon! That's fantastic! :mark:

I'm a sports pessimist by nature (it's better to be happily surprised than disappointed, after all) and with no Pence (granted, for only the first month or so in all likelihood), no Panda and no Morse I fear that our lineup projects to have next to no power. (Obviously Belt and :posey2 will supply some.) Also I think last year's postseason sort of illustrated how flawed-at-best our rotation stands once you get beyond :bum though the returning Cain should help.

We'll see... I think the Giants are an 82-88 win team on paper. Of course that is probably what they were going into 2010 and 2014 (ultimately reaching 88 wins in that latter year) so you have to hope Sabean will pull off some favorable moves once more that improve the team midway through. We'll see!

Yep. I've never seen anything like it, even from the odd-year Giants of '11 and '13. The Rangers of the last 12 months are in their own (crazily unfortunate) "class" in this regard, sad to say.
