It's all swept under the rug on the forums by teams of apologists. A few might be WWE plants but the rest are like ostriches. They're fans, but don't want to hear about the Dark Side of the industry. They bury their heads in the sand whenever an enemy approaches.

It's one of the reasons Sting's burial by HHH really stung to a lot of people. It didn't bother me as I saw it coming. These others can't put their finger on it, but I can.

Sting, Steve Borden, didn't let the industry corrupt him. He stayed true to his chosen organization, even when they were giving him the whiff(when Bischoff kept him off for years). You don't hear anything from other wrestlers about him being stiff, or insulting but as a matter of fact, you hear them talk about how going to Sting with a problem was going to someone who would listen and understand. hour or more in the ring. In short, he was the poster boy for what's RIGHT about the business and he jobs to the epitome of wrong in it.

The Benoit thing still gets to me. Keeps me up some nights. How such a horrible event could have been avoided if Benoit had one check-up, one MRI, or something anything if WWE ever gave a damn about their employees and their well-being, Benoit and his wife and his son could be alive right now.

I think about writing about this industry. Maybe start my own blog, or go on Medium.com, just something to point out all these disasters that just seem to keep on coming. How they don't give a damn about their workers, or fans. How horrible and backwards this industry really is. I think you're thread could be so much more. If we just took this list, stuck them with sources, expanded on them all. I don't know what it could do, but it's about time someone did it. Ya know?

You don't accept private messages so I just decided to post this here:

I know what you mean. I can relate on the same level. I quit watching for a good half-decade or so. I was really young, but After the Benoit tragedy I just slow drifted further away. When you come to an understanding how so many people in this business could have lived much better lives if they had never stepped into it to begin with, it's really crushing.

I only watched on and off, mainly because of Edge and his successes. I started watching again around this time last year, because of the whole Daniel Bryan situation, obviously didn't work out well, and it's crazy to think that after all these years things haven't changed.

Read your Jobber posts. Loved it. Need more people like you posting on these forums. I am pretty old school myself, so i like reading more Old School perspectives.
