My friend used to be a bouncer. He's a big guy, had his fair share of fights, slamming people through tables...drunk people can be incredibly huge idiots.
He wasn't the type to just throw someone out because he could, though. Some like to use their position as intimidation, even if you are not doing anything. That's just sad. I can totally understand becoming intimidating to cool down a rowdy drunken fuck, but, not to someone just having innocent fun because they want to feel cool.
